I've never seen a professional reviewer give the CTS-V any mark that would have you b elieve the car is shitty. Some of them may have bias towards it's competitors, but to be professional means to be true.
None of them can say this is a shitty car, and keep their credablilty.
So just live with it, the CTS-V ius the real deal, from the factory, and can be upgraded for way cheaper than ANY of it's competitors...not that it needs it.

Obviously if you drive the car and brake too late on a 90 degree turn you are asking for the back end to swing and you will just loose more time. I was talking about an apex curve, where the guy was braking like 70 ft before the turn, i mean it is a cadillac cts v, the car can be driven faster than what he is doing, he maybe a gt driver but i am fairly disappointed at his driving style.

It doesn't really surprise me to hear this beat out the M5. I think the M5 has too much torque making the clutch feel too "truck-like" for a sport sedan. When I drove it, I was reminded of a Ford F-series.

at least the m5 still revs rather high. Check out the new Jaguar XF-R if you wanna see some massive truck-like torque. low revs and sounds great, some say its even faster than the m5 as well.

Small wonder the CTS-V beat the M5 around a road course(by less than half a second tho) which favoured CTS-V, because it didn't allow M5's engine to rev high out of slow turns.
The M5 revs higher too. So, what's your point?? That doesn't stop it from driving like a truck. It's just one of the ugly things about the M5 clutch. It's the same way on the X3 and the X5 but not the rest of the 5-series for whatever reason. II haven't figured it out and I don't really care enough to attempt it.
that's because the m5 wasn't engineered to ever be used with a manual gearbox. they only offered it in america for old school idiots that don't understand automotive engineering, or automobiles in general. only power.
the car was designed specifically to be used with the 7 speed smg gearbox, and i bet if motortrend used it it would have won.

Actually, it's said to be almost on pair with 5 year old BMW M5. Surely, it's no match to newer M3, but it's very good. Kind of like the Mercedes C63 AMG.
There aren't many good American cars, but this is one of the greatest they've ever made. So is the ZR1 Corvette.

Many German luxury sports sedans and Japanese ones as well rely on McPherson struts in the front, not the CTS-V it uses independent unequal length arms on the front and rear that respond to changes in the road better. Most of the German and Japanese cars you referred to still use hydraulic shocks, but the CTS-V uses the same MagnaRide shocks found on the ZR1 and Ferrari's 599 GTB.
The CTS-V is the best sedan in the world that has ever been built evryone who works for GM and is a part of GM should be crying in hapiness over this huge acomplishment that the CTS-V is because evrything the CTS-V doess is incredable for a car that nearly wieghs 2 tons and the CTS-V is by far superior to evry car in its class in evry performance catogoery.

We must all remember that the 2009 CTSv competes with the next generation M5 which has not been released yet.
The 2009 M5 you see today was developed in 2003 to be the 2004 M5.
2004-2009+ M5 competes with
2003-2008 CTSv
You cannot compare the same car to two different generations of the CTSv.
The last M5 dominated its generation. The next M5 which competes against this CTSv will be released in 2010-11. M5 will retain its dominance.

I've never seen a professional reviewer give the CTS-V any mark that would have you b elieve the car is shitty. Some of them may have bias towards it's competitors, but to be professional means to be true.
None of them can say this is a shitty car, and keep their credablilty.
So just live with it, the CTS-V ius the real deal, from the factory, and can be upgraded for way cheaper than ANY of it's competitors...not that it needs it.
We know zero of the new M5, so stop acting like U do.

Oh you thought I was talking about sharp turns? I was talking about like apex or round curve. Obviously if you drive the car and brake too late on a 90 degree turn you are asking for the back end to swing and you will just loose more time. I was talking about an apex curve, where the guy was braking like 70 ft before the turn, i mean it is a cadillac cts v, the car can be driven faster than what he is doing, he maybe a gt driver but i am fairly disappointed at his driving style.

It doesn't really surprise me to hear this beat out the M5. I think the M5 has too much torque making the clutch feel too "truck-like" for a sport sedan. When I drove it, I was reminded of a Ford F-series.
...but that's just my opinion.

at least the m5 still revs rather high. Check out the new Jaguar XF-R if you wanna see some massive truck-like torque. low revs and sounds great, some say its even faster than the m5 as well.

CTS-V has got a supercharger. M5's engine is NA.
Small wonder the CTS-V beat the M5 around a road course(by less than half a second tho) which favoured CTS-V, because it didn't allow M5's engine to rev high out of slow turns.

The M5 revs higher too. So, what's your point?? That doesn't stop it from driving like a truck. It's just one of the ugly things about the M5 clutch. It's the same way on the X3 and the X5 but not the rest of the 5-series for whatever reason. II haven't figured it out and I don't really care enough to attempt it.

that's because the m5 wasn't engineered to ever be used with a manual gearbox. they only offered it in america for old school idiots that don't understand automotive engineering, or automobiles in general. only power.
the car was designed specifically to be used with the 7 speed smg gearbox, and i bet if motortrend used it it would have won.

i think you responded to the wrong comment... i'm not a fan of the double clutch, auto clutch, etc. gearboxes. give me 6 gears and a stick to shift them and i'm the happiest man on the planet.
but it is true that the m5's v10 engine and that smg gearbox were engineered to work specifically with each other, and that the engine was never intended to be used with a 6 spd manual. like i said, it's only an option for the US.

Do you believe that this car has all that complicated technology, found on German or even Japanese sport cars? Actually, it's said to be almost on pair with 5 year old BMW M5. Surely, it's no match to newer M3, but it's very good. Kind of like the Mercedes C63 AMG.
There aren't many good American cars, but this is one of the greatest they've ever made. So is the ZR1 Corvette.
So, if you want to bash American cars, pick another one. There's a lot to choose from :P

moonfades2009 the CTS-V is about more than just power, it is about handling as well. Many German luxury sports sedans and Japanese ones as well rely on McPherson struts in the front, not the CTS-V it uses independent unequal length arms on the front and rear that respond to changes in the road better. Most of the German and Japanese cars you referred to still use hydraulic shocks, but the CTS-V uses the same MagnaRide shocks found on the ZR1 and Ferrari's 599 GTB.

He said it was pretty easy lose it with power. If there still one reason why some drivers prefer the M5 over the CTS-V, it's its lack of any forced induction.
With Superchargers and Turbochargers, you're getting a bit of lag, and then a massive waves of torque.
With NA engine like the one BMW M5 has, you just press the pedal and it's immediately there, you can dose the power precisely to your liking. That's why some drivers I've spoken to still prefer BMW M5 at the limit.

Yeah its in Gran Turismo and almost every other serious racing as well including Forza2. It's a world famous track and the corkscrew turn is one of the most well known turns. So yeah, anyone who is a car or car gaming enthusiast would recognize Laguna Seca when they see it.

nah, they already did that test, the Caddi is still faster. It has torque, something the M5 doesn't have, which allows it to really push out of corners, which is basically where the CTS-V won on the track.

um no, it is not in the same class. the class that the Panamera is in includes the Mercedes-Benz CLS, Maserati Quattroporte, and Aston Martin Rapide.
the Panamera's dimensions should tell you what class its in. just because it has 4 doors, doesn't mean its in the same class. if that were the case, then a Toyota Camry might as well be in the same class as the Panamera.

the Porsche Panamera's market is not the mid-size super sedan market. it is the fullsize "4-door coupe" market in which is competes. Porsche isn't targetting the CTS-V, nor are they targetting any other cars in that market.
