when i record a loop it sounds fine, but when i loop it back and play over top of it, what im playing drowns out the loop, so i can only hear the loop when im not playing, kindof pointless!!

@mainlymusicman Are you using any effects (including amp distortion, etc) after the loop pedal? Distortion after the loop pedal in your chain will cause the largest component to dominate the rest of the signal and results in the "drown-out" you might have going on. If you're not already, try using it in an effects loop (if your amp has one) and if you are using a tube amp, you'll need to minimize the power-stage breakup (unfortunately).

whats the point if you cant use distortion on top of the loops????

@mainlymusicman Based on the evidence to the contrary, I don't think that it's the fact that there's distortion because other people seem to have it working fine (see the "Master of Puppets" related video, watch?v=cjP9MP8CoYA&feature=re­lated). If you have a camcorder, you could take a video of it and show the chain and then play something, and I could see if I can spot anything.

@RunawayThumbtack i watched that video, thats definately not the result i get. i also have a need for playing rythemon top of a single note phrase, this gets completely drowned out, ... basicly wherever theres overlap between the recorded phrase, and the live playing, the recorded phrase disappears, especially the harder pick attack i use. i wonder if there isnt something wrong with mine? i can record it with a camcorder, when i get back home in a few days... thanks!

so i bought this pedal a few weeks ago and am very disappointed as when i use it with my fender blues junior and my strat and ts9 etc. however whenever i try to solo over a loop i record the loop fades almost completely and returns only after i stop soloing. is there any way to fix this ? could it be my amp?

@PhishCactus I haven't used this looper, but when using the loop feature on my line 6 dl4 depending on the amp settings and the level of stuff being looped verse the level of your soloing, I had a similar thing happen using a blues jr. I think its because of the saturation of the tubes. When I used an amp with more clean headroom I didn't have that problem.

Try turning down the gain (volume nob on the blues jr) and turning up the master volume just to see. That might help.

@lwhite1997 I don't know because I don't actually have one of these, but I think (from what I've read) that you have to have a microphone and plug the jack in the side.

@lwhite1997 Hi there, if you have an acoustic guitar with a bridge mic you can sing into the guitar hole.....alternatively you could just insert a mic using the xlr to jack cable. Or using a small mixer you can put as many different instruments as you like through one simple out put cable from the mixer to the boss rc2 loop station insert. @RDawg009 step on the switch and hold until it blinks yellow in the upper left corner. if you, have "saved" it in one phrase, select the phrase, then switch the knob at the right to delete, and press tap tempo twice.

Anyone know how to get reegular drum-sound when using fuzz on my amp?? when I play metal tunes, the drums go all fuzzy too.. :( HELP!!?

Put your OD Pedal in front of the looper that way the sounds are being distorted before it goes threw the looper...hope this helps

Run your distortion/overdrive or any other effects pedals into the RC-2 and have the RC-2 be the last in the line of effects. If you don't have a pedal try using the effects loop on your amp. If you dont have either, time to go shopping. Great Demo!
