I have to agree, I had never known what Sami looked like either. Beautiful lady, beautiful song, can never hear it enough times. I have the 45 still....Funny how some songs bring back great memories and for others they'd be like...I don't remember that song at all....
I don't believe it!!! This is the first time I see Sami Jo, I love this music but I have never seen her face before. Man, she is so beautifil! What a voice!!!!
I love Sami Jo but the only success she had here was Tell Me A Lie. I'm moved.
Didn't know she was so beautiful! Her smile knocks me down!
Nevada, Thank you sooooo much for one of the biggest emotion in my file!!!!!!!!
What great record...much better than the Janie Frickie version...I would love to hear Sami tell the story of what female singers dealt with in country in the early to mid 70's....Some of the stuff is better than any Soap opera....
Who's ever heard of her? I'm pretty up on '70s CM and I'd never even heard of her ... and I've heard of some pretty obscure ones, trust me. One reason she probably didn't make it ... she didn't have the hair that the women of C&W had back then ... Lynn Anderson, Tammy, Dolly, etc. ... you know, the BIG, long, blonde hair.
she didn't make it because life has its way of getting in the way. she had 2 top 10 billboard hits so you are about as good a '70's CM expert as you are a hair stylist. she has great hair! sorry to take it so personally, but she is my mom!
When I was a young boy in the 70's my mom and step-dad had some Sami Jo records and we loved them. After that, I never heard anything about her. Thanks for posting. She has a special quality to her voice that I just love.
Musica lindíssima, me traz boas recordações..época incrível...bem diferente da realidade de hoje....infelizmente..

This is truly a great find. I played bass with Sami for years and don't know what show this is from . . . great job.

Ken,
I'm pretty sure the clip is from a syndicated show from the 1970s called "Pop! Goes The Country".
Best,

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS in every way...starting with Sami Jo herself.
My God, what a huge and painful bummer it is to me that Sami wasn't the biggest superstar of them all. :(
She is sublime in every way.
