  • In a couple of months and if your a fair guy ,toil say" That dam guy.is good!!

    Peace

  • @mark marky

I said he sounded like Felix not that he was ! Surely you jest becouse he is no Felix Cavaliere ! We all get old and our vocally our range drops ,or we just can't get the same effects and tones that we had 40 yrs ago. Considering that this is not a profesional video the accoustics are not all that and the crowd noise doesn't help any they sounded ok at best! Iam 62 and can cover many of the Rascal tunes. Stevie Winwood 3 dog nite in the original key! Check out the songs ill be

  • GREAT TUNE- NEVER GETS OLD.

  • In the original Iam sure it's Felix Cavaleri playing ang singing , yea THAT HAMMOND B3 I KNOW THAT VOICE ANYWHERE

  • @havanakings.....truly you jest.....these guys are the one and only one....SOUL SURVIVORS....but I must confess it does sound like Felix

  • Joey Dee ...pioneer, paved the way for great White-Boy Soul singers like Soul Survivors, Young Rascals, Hall and Oates and the fantastic Rightous Bros. Expressway was produced by soul-masters Gamble and Huff. The song continues to grab your ears to this day.

  • Sadly Craig Van Tilbury who is playing guitar on this video recently passed away. R.I.P. Craig.

  • Great...love this song...a really good vocal performance as well..

  • I am in Detroit again and here is where this song rocked the Muscle Cars of that day.

  • So there's no original video of this?

These guys were staying at the same hotel that I was outside of Philly in 1967 (?). They played at a wedding and took me with them. Ooops I was only 17. Then I got to hang out at the hotel with them - nothing smarmy. But can you imagine how exciting for a goofball from the midwest to meet and hang out with this group and their small entourage for a day and night. Starstruck.

Plus this is a great song.

  • What a kick ass performance on this song. Lead vocal and back up, just ate this song up, as well as the rhythm section. The real talent is the Air Guitar by the MC.

  • @NPR150 The MC is Joey Dee of Joey Dee and the Starliters...it was his show with Soul Survivors as special guests!

  • for a live performance they sound great

  • Really nice sound and hope they keep up the music..GREAT!

    Thanks Guys!

    and a big clap

  • Hes a cool cat too. I know.

  • Kinda bogus how their isnt a video of the "origional crew" because Edward Gibson was the backup singer for the origional.

  • How can someone record a live performance, and then start blabbering and talking over the actual song?

    Really bad form, eh?

  • I was recording it, the STUPID old bint walked up to me and started blabbering at me about how she forgot her camera! I was trying to get rid of her diplomatically I promise you. She had the most irritating voice too...ARGH!

  • Springsteen recently did this at one of his concerts and he couldnt hit the notes like he does!!!!

  • These two brothers are the original singers on the record. Kenny Jeremiah was on of the other singers in the band but did not sing the lead to Expressway. He sang backup vocals. Kenny was the most energetic in the band. He used to jump around and climb on top of amplifiers. My uncle Joe Forgione was the drummer in the original band.

    Thanks.......Kenny Forgione

  • They still have amazingly good and soulful voices, thumbs up :-)

  • npwd, These brothers were original members, but not the original vocalists on the song. The orginal lead vocalist ont eh record is Kenny Jeremiah. Do a youtube search for him, and you can find a a video of him singing this same song recently in Denver on a TV station, and he sounds just like the record.

  • richie or charlie this is Frankie from the lower east side, did not know you guys were still singing. Still alive and kicking

  • A great performance by the Soul Surviors!!!! One of my favorite groups. I have the 45 of this song, HAH!!!! Yes, I'm that old, LOL. Love this video....

  • charlie and ritchie still got it!

  • Tell me about it, some random woman started talking to me!!! UGH!!!

  • That Bitch needs to shut the fuck up....Damn bet her husband wishes she would develope permanent lose of speaking.

  • Someone should of slapped that ho talking during the song.

  • You are welcome, thanks for the positive replies.

    NEIL

  • So who are the members now and why doesn't anyone ever film the poor drummer. lol

  • The members are the Ingui Brothers, the original frontmen. The rest of the band are Joey Dee & his Starlighters. The 'poor drummer' is always too far back to film!

  • This is awesome !

  • They sound great...great to see.

  • I love blue-eyed soul!!! Love. Blue-eyed Girl

  • Let me rephrase that. what i meant is after hear other bands perform this tune, its great to hear the two original brothers sing it. hence "nothing like the original."

  • nothin' like the original.
