I said he sounded like Felix not that he was ! Surely you jest becouse he is no Felix Cavaliere ! We all get old and our vocally our range drops ,or we just can't get the same effects and tones that we had 40 yrs ago. Considering that this is not a profesional video the accoustics are not all that and the crowd noise doesn't help any they sounded ok at best! Iam 62 and can cover many of the Rascal tunes. Stevie Winwood 3 dog nite in the original key! Check out the songs ill be
Joey Dee ...pioneer, paved the way for great White-Boy Soul singers like Soul Survivors, Young Rascals, Hall and Oates and the fantastic Rightous Bros. Expressway was produced by soul-masters Gamble and Huff. The song continues to grab your ears to this day.
These guys were staying at the same hotel that I was outside of Philly in 1967 (?). They played at a wedding and took me with them. Ooops I was only 17. Then I got to hang out at the hotel with them - nothing smarmy. But can you imagine how exciting for a goofball from the midwest to meet and hang out with this group and their small entourage for a day and night. Starstruck.
What a kick ass performance on this song. Lead vocal and back up, just ate this song up, as well as the rhythm section. The real talent is the Air Guitar by the MC.

I was recording it, the STUPID old bint walked up to me and started blabbering at me about how she forgot her camera! I was trying to get rid of her diplomatically I promise you. She had the most irritating voice too...ARGH!
These two brothers are the original singers on the record. Kenny Jeremiah was on of the other singers in the band but did not sing the lead to Expressway. He sang backup vocals. Kenny was the most energetic in the band. He used to jump around and climb on top of amplifiers. My uncle Joe Forgione was the drummer in the original band.
npwd, These brothers were original members, but not the original vocalists on the song. The orginal lead vocalist ont eh record is Kenny Jeremiah. Do a youtube search for him, and you can find a a video of him singing this same song recently in Denver on a TV station, and he sounds just like the record.
A great performance by the Soul Surviors!!!! One of my favorite groups. I have the 45 of this song, HAH!!!! Yes, I'm that old, LOL. Love this video....
The members are the Ingui Brothers, the original frontmen. The rest of the band are Joey Dee & his Starlighters. The 'poor drummer' is always too far back to film!
Let me rephrase that. what i meant is after hear other bands perform this tune, its great to hear the two original brothers sing it. hence "nothing like the original."
In a couple of months and if your a fair guy ,toil say" That dam guy.is good!!

How can someone record a live performance, and then start blabbering and talking over the actual song?
Really bad form, eh?
