Right before the first injury, he pulled it something fierce and had to take some time off. Vince wanting the highest rating possible rushed him in before he could fully heal.

To my knowledge, Cena was pretty much fine to wrestle before he tore his pectoral.

It was just one example, shrug. Most major wrestlers have gone down from in ring injuries and generally it's from basic crap. Damn near every kayfabe suspension or firing that lasts more than a week is to cover an injury too embarrassing to work into the storyline. If Cena sucks for a goofy injury, than so does Stone Cold, HHH, HBK, Taker, etc... Cena sucks for other reasons, mostly from being neutered like the rest of the WWE today.
