@lta6494 There is not a single power generation technology used in this country that has not been heavily subsidized. Look up the US DOE Clean Coal Technology projects (totalling about $10 billion - maybe more since I have been involved). Look up the millions in research and development technology grants contributing to natural gas and other fossil-based generating technologies that you have spoken of. Don't get conned Educate yourself in this area.

Wind power, as a nation power source, is a panacea and is just another holy sacrament that you must take to be a proper progressive liberal. It is simply not possible for private money to fund the commercialization of some of those technologies, such as fluidized bed combustion.

And you also have not done enough research on how technologies - all technologies - have become commercialized and who has paid those incredible costs. With respect to wind, most experts feel that about 10% of the mix should be in wind power. Concerning subsidies, fossil fuel technologies have received more than any other technology.

look @ what our addiction to oil and offshore drilling is doing to our environment and local coastline economies. One oil spill off the east coast of Florida could shut down small economies across the state, irreversibly damage the ecosystem and will do nothing to reduce costs or anything in the short term. On the long term we can either build towards the future or invest in crude old technologies and sources of energy. If Americans thought like that in the past we'd still be dependant on coal.

There's no such thing as an "Obama unemployment rate". The unemployment rate is showing signs of going down. It starts with the economy getting better in general, which it is, then the jobs start to come back, which they are.
If Obama is doing nothing, then what do you call the stimulus? They tried to stimulate the economy to bring jobs back, and many would argue that it's working.

Look up the US DOE Clean Coal Technology projects (totalling about $10 billion - maybe more since I have been involved). Look up the millions in research and development technology grants contributing to natural gas and other fossil-based generating technologies that you have spoken of. And you also have not done enough research on how technologies - all technologies - have become commercialized and who has paid those incredible costs. With respect to wind, most experts feel that about 10% of the mix should be in wind power. Concerning subsidies, fossil fuel technologies have received more than any other technology.

One oil spill off the east coast of Florida could shut down small economies across the state, irreversibly damage the ecosystem and will do nothing to reduce costs or anything in the short term. There was plenty of reason that you will never know why we where there and did what we did. Better hope Obama can cope when his chickens come home to roost!

@dkkght46 Friend, jobless claims are down once again. In one year they have gone down almost 33%. Why did you fail to mention that in assessing "Odumbo's" performance and claiming that he's the reason why unemployment is up?
I invite you to be a true patriot and stay out of partisan wars. I understand you're conservative and don't like Obama, but if a man is cutting unemployment in our country, I think he deserves a little more respect, whether he's a Democrat or a Republican, don't ya think?

@AlvinHDavernport Ok lets see what the rates are: May 09-8.8, Jul 09-9.5, Nov 09-10.1, Jan 10-10.0, and Mar 10-9.7. Yep you are right they are down again and you are a zombie. His performance is horrible but he is doing good for a Marxist/Leninist. @dkkght46 Yeah, I'm a zombie, because I recognize the fact that the current administration was able to halt the momentum of the rising u-rate carried from the previous administration.
Oh, and "Odumbo" passed legislation that no other president was ever able to pass before, he persuaded the Russians to cut down their nuclear arsenal, and got the rest of the world behind him in securing warheads. You're right, he has no leadership skills whatsoever. Whether you like those policies is different.

@JOHNINCOLUMBUS Yes WMD was found, 550 metric tons of "yellowcake and about 500 shells, canisters or other munitions containing the chemical weapons. Bush would not have invaded if Saddam had let the inspectors do their job. Saddam though W was a pussy like Bush Sr. but W was convicted in his principles. You cannot educate the uneducated.

@dkkght46 Getting Uranium is not hard. Concentrating it enough to make a nuclear bomb is expensive, time consuming, and a huge undertaking that is nearly impossible to hide. Iraq DID NOT have WMD's. They had Uranium which exists naturally.

We would have had overwhelming evidence that Iraq was making a bomb, if they actually were, and years to do something about it. How long have we known Iran has been developing a nuclear program? Iraq DID NOT have WMD's.
