  • Why do Republicans still think they are relevant?

  • PLEASE watch my videos and download the youtube downloader to save them. This is a prime example of how corrupt the current healthcare system is.

  • Republicans...EAT IT!!! Hope she fucks you all without lube.

  • Wow these people are so stupid they took everything out of context. When do you see hispanic women leaders, when do u c a women leader, its hard to be both. She is basically saying anything a man can do I can do better, and anything a white man can do I can do better. Its not racist, most politicians are white, duh.

  • I'm white, now to say I would be a better employee for walmart than a black guy is racist, no matter how you look at it man. It WAS a racist statement, just put up with it.

  • no it wasn't, u talking about walmart is racist what u think all minorities work there? Why did u say ur ethnicity, to prove u r not racist? Please sit down, u will never understand minority minds cuz u haven't been through it, people like you take what malcom x,mohammid ally not going to war, and such and misinterpret the info. You know u stole this land from Indiana right. I am mixed. And atill u r ,u will never understand.

  • out of context........

  • way to take quotes out of context......

  • Personally, I know I was passed up for a number of jobs because of affirmative action (I'm white). I'm fine with that. It's called being circumspect. I was born with a considerable amount of social capital; I did not have to overcome centuries of discrimination, both social and institutional. Sotomayor, given her impressive record as a jurist, is living proof of the value of affirmative action. After all, the point of government jobs is to make the country better; equality is part of that.

  • Interesting how Clarence Thomas feels like his benefiting from affirmative action is like a chain around his neck because he is in a position where others assume he's where he is because of affirm action&not because he nec merits being in his position. He wanted to achieve through his own efforts&now feels betrayed by affirmative action & cannot feel self-fulfilled because of a sense of sort-of 'cheating.' If your good, you belong in,plain and simple, but if someone else is better, they belong.

  • zndprophet:Your last point has some validity;I'm sure some people who complain about AA are racist;it doesn't follow,though,that everybody complaining about it are racists;

  • Letstalksex; Multiculturalism puts an equal value on all these things people were trying to escape from. You talked about the views from "another culture" on the bench.Fuck That;I don't want ANY culture expressed on the bench;protect the constitution;resolve conflict fairly and with the intelligence acquired from a lifetime of experience;that's their job;even Sotomayor herself is RUNNING from that "experience of a Wise Latina" comment.

  • I'm a little tired of the process;every question illicits "I'l come to the case with an open mind" ;she's been coached on her answers;and the Republicans don't have the stones to pin her down on issues;so,by the end of the week,we'll know nothing more about Sotto than we did at the beginning.Thank you,ted kennedy, who started the politicization of this process with the Bork nomination.

  • she will be like a judicial version of feinstein and schumer......

  • John Cornyn is a senator. He doesn't have a district, he represents the entire state of Texas.

  • Thanks. Not being from Texas I didn't catch that. Jim Quinn must of got his smarts from Rush.

  • I am a white male and I agree that she would make a better decision than a white male. It is not discrimination. It is her experience as a woman and a minority that gives her perspective into issues that white men never experience in our nation.

  • A true product of PC white guilty liberalism!!!

  • The perspective of white America is so over represented in our culture that that the views of other culture which may be beneficial are neglected. She would be the first Hispanic person on the court and the third woman. We haven't come very far at all if this over qualified individual doesn't make it on.

  • Letstalksex waht you said is kind of vague;care to flesh it out a little? there'only supposed to be one culture;an American one;assimilation may sound brutal, but it's worked a helluva lot better than silly multiculturalism; bi-lingual ed fails students;Sharia Law would be a disaster; why would we want Europe's model?

  • You don't understand culture if you think that there is "supposed" to be only one culture in America. For instance different religions produce different cultures. Other aspects are political view, art, education, food, environment, etc. I would say that we are multicultural and that is why the U.S. and other countries succeed. It is countries that force a 1 culture "ideal" that fail partly because it doesn't allow people to live their lives how they choose ie Freedom.

  • Look, when you're on the Police Force, you're blue;when you're in the Army, you're green;those institutions manage diversity the right way;you subordinate individuality to the task at hand and everyone sharing the uniform is your brother;Multiculturalism is a word thought up by social activists;it has NOTHING to do with the country's success; someone comes to thids country fleeing political or religious oppression ;you think they want those institutions replicated here? That's the problem .

  • studies have show that the military's breaking of the individual is harmful to the psyche. Many argue that is the best method for unity which must be employed for the purpose of the military. The difference is that our country is not the military.

You have never studied this in college have you? Do you realize that this breaking of the human spirit and conforming to the countries culture is a lot like bad communism. If the country ran like the military we would be communist.

  • Letstalksex Respectfully;this course you took in College doesn't seem very deep; I'm not suggesting every American gets a Drill Sargent; What I'm saying is in the phrase "E Pluribus Unum , the Unum"is more important than the Pluribus; When you go to your mechanic,or doctor,or ride in an airplane,do you care about culture or competence?

  • culture can create competence and that is my point this whole time. She is very qualified. Just because you don't agree with her "liberal" views doesn't mean that she isn't the best judge for the job. Oh and please don't talk to me about judges supposed to be unbiased with each case because being "unbiased" is open to interpretation. I am sure that you and other conservatives will be happy with nothing short of another conservative justice. Sorry, but not this time.

  • "Culture can create competence".Wow.What crap. I think you need to transfer to a REAL college;or just get into the real world in general.I don't care if a judge is liberal or conservative;just keep the goddamn government off my back;don't shove quotas down the throats of my nephews that aren't responsible for any racism at 20 years old; don't take my land for economic development.Practical things;I don't care if they grew up hitting a pinata or not.

  • wtf?????

  • Dazzling display of insanity.

  • "This is like a cartoon, Senator Al Franken is sitting there." Yeah, because it doesn't matter how good you are, if you don't have a good haircut and a nice smile and a polite attitude with a respectable former career, you can't be a good politician. You can even kill a few people, but as long as you have the right stuff from that list, you are perfect.

  • Oh, my. This is almost too much.

    Almost.

Coming on the heels of SENATOR Al Franken, the confirmation of Sotomayor will surely cause some of these wingut weasels to have a stroke, at least, if not an actual head explosion! I LOVE it!

  • Al Franken on the panel for the confirmation hearings. Beck is shitting his pants. It is like a two for one story. Beck is such a clown.

  • awesome. I love the mainstream media. Everyone is always so pissed at something. However, the video could have had a little more coverage then the talking heads at the media talking about nothing.

  • Who cares what moron neocon repubs think about anything? The people have spoken and they no longer have a say in American politics. They are just wasting their time.

  • iamavet is clueless idiot number one

  • Okay, from now on, these guys don't get to speak in code anymore. Every time they do, feel free to interpret what they are really concerned about.

    Here is the concern:

America is a country by white people, for white people. It's bad enough we've gotta share it with all these fucking Mexicans, now we've got have one as a supreme court JUDGE? I mean shit, these people are gonna conquer us SOON! Hispanics are the reason America is going to hell. Fuckin beaners! Stop this shit NOW!

  • LOL get used to Puto! Pentheho! what is up with all the hate. did you lose your piece of shit job to someone who can't even speak english.

  • He was talking about the conservative commentators.

  • Before you do the mindless, knee-jerk return hate routine try to actually comprehend what the person you're responding to is saying.

Dummies on both the left and right.

  • thanks for understanding guys. I think he's a blossoming republican himself.

Maybe he'll be the next Alberto Gonzales.

  • zndprophet was criticizing right wingers. zndprophet was saying this is what conservatives think. Misunderstanding

  • You might want to join up with the repubs if that's your understanding of what I said.

When I say "coded language" I'm not talking about Latinos speaking Spanish-I'm talking about the way racist white conservatives talk about Hispanic people without trying to sound racist, when they are.

Funny, they talk in code, I expose their code, and you bitch me out for it. yeah....you should definitely become a republican.

  • What is with the ACORN thread in the criticisms? Is this some inside speak for conservatives that means something? I went to the home of ACORN and still do not get it.

  • I know, seriously what the fuck?

It's hard for us to understand, because in our world, you can't just throw out crazy shit like that and not have to cite it, or base it on a fact.

But in their world, you can.

You know, Rush Limbaugh's radio station is owned by the Westboro Baptist Church, and Glenn Beck has been a member since 1921.

  • ACORN is a Republican buzz word that essentially translates into something like "We hate blacks and hispanics, we're scared to death of just about everything that isn't white and middle class, and we have no clue what's really going on so we'll just blather any old shit and hope someone feels sorry for us."

    Something like that.

  • So, corporations and the wealthy have their PACS and interest groups and this is OK. The poor, middle class and people of color try to better themselves and this is criticized? I thought America was about improving one's position?

  • The U.S. Supreme Court needs a lefty activist judge. Liberalsim alone is repsonsible for everything great about America.

  • dizzymasekala Liberalism has done good ;it's also done some awful things;the Liberal mentality has watered down school curriculum, kept inner city schools an international racist disgrace(because of fealty to teacher's unions) refused to even acknowledge Crime as an issue for years(see, that;s racist code words) 'The Sexual revolution had mixed consequences at best.....so I think you have to balance things out a little.Obviously the right side of Civil Rights Movement,etc...

  • Oh my GOD. The hypocrisy is about to make my head explode. They are talking about THEMSELVES!

    "This racist..."

    "Steeped in identity politics"

"The world is turning upside down"

    No shit Glenn Beck.

  • zndprophet Talk to the White firefighters in New Haven ;they's agree with Beck.

  • oh the white firefighters.

    the one example.

black people couldn't VOTE for the first 100 years of this country.

    Come on man.

Plus people who bitch about affirmative action have an underlying belief:

That no minority is EVER as qualified, or more qualified than a white person.

You think a dumb, fucking retarded redneck never gets a job over an experienced, smart minority just because the boss is racist?

    Come on.

  • zndprophet:"People who bitch about Affirmative Action think that NO minority is ever qualified" -that's your personal assertion, supported only by your life experience;but have the guts to test your belief; why not just take the race question box off the test? 2n part;Yeah;I'm sure inferior whites have been hired because of racism;I don't believe that's the Modern Civil Service system;and the answer is to punish that boss, not other people.

  • The same exact people who are against AA would be even more outraged by "punishing that boss", believe me.

  • The people who bitch about Aff.Action have an underlying belief;yeah;that belief, supported by poll after poll,is that it's fundamentally unfair; When I see a White supporter of Aff.Action voluntarily give up his OWN job or opportunity,I'll gain a little respect for white supporters;but, overwhelmingly, white supporters of A.A. come from privileged backgrounds and are never going to be subject to it themselves;they love subjecting working class whites from modest backgrounds to it,though.

  • I'm white, and I don't even have an Associate's Degree. I get horrible jobs. I never even think to complain about Affirmative Action.

Where is the proof that all these minorities are so unqualified? I never really see that, or hear about it.

I think though, that if I was racist, it would be REALLY easy for me to blame my shortcomings on affirmative action. And don't republicans HATE people who blame people who are more successful?

  • I never said ANY minorities are unqualified ;I suggested taking the race box question off of Civil service tests;for some reason,MINORITY organizations oppose that; they seem to think they need the box to compete; from personal experience,I've seen minorities do tremendous work when given opportunities; but that doesn't mean I turn a blind eye to injustice to,for instance,the White firefighters in New haven;

  • Well, there has always been unofficial affirmative action for whites by racist bosses, and that's WHY affirmative action was created.

See-and you can't really PROVE that-but when affirmative action goes too far-you can prove that.

How come people who bitch about affirmative action never bitch about the other side of it? I think that's the most revealing thing of all? Either your for fairness, or you're for a specific race.

  • zndprophet :How come people who bitch about A.A. never bitch about the other side of it? Most people act in accordance with their own interests;that's human nature ";either you're for fairness or you're for a specific race";You think minorities benefiting from these programs care about fairness?They care about their future;and I understand that. ;A.A. is a big entitlement program;if I'm benefiting from it,I'm NOT going to complain about it;

  • PLEASE! EVERYTHING the republicans do is identity politics!
