  • lol just buy hs 20 and u set lol

  • if canon havent made it or put it in there cameras then its not worth it :)

  • This video should have been 34 seconds long. Just say what you have to say, and end the video there.

  • Wauw you talk and talk and don't really say anything. Have you done a side by side with those cameras. The answer is clearly NO. So, you have a D7000 and recommend it. That's a pretty fair and straight answer.

  • @goswo It's funny when people accuse and assume and insult but are wrong to begin with. youtube.com/watch?v=Ox3SZPdeqYY&feature=related.

  • the camera is made for pictures so stop talking about video if you want to take video buy a video camera you can't say what camera is better by judging the video also

  • Bullshit! i've film for 1 hour and the 7Ddoesnt overheat. youre doing it wrong

  • This is a nice review and I really appreciate you posted it here. I use Olympus for Landscapes and I'm looking for a second system to shoot weddings and fashion shows, what I need from this system is a faster AF in low light conditions, which one do you think will perform better under this conditions?

    Thank you.

  • You are so biased towards prefering the Nikon system! Seriously, what do you base the image quality on?? The Canon 7D has 2 more mega-pixels! The sensors are about the same quality! Only difference is in high ISO preformance. Image quality just so you know is variable and does depend on lenses as well! Cause if ur using a high end Nikon lens, and comparing it to a non-L Canon lens, its stupid! And Canon L lenses are arguably the second best type of glass for DSLRS, bettered only by Zeiss!

  • although the d7000 has the dual card slots they are still both sdhc card slots, which are not as fast as compact flash cards so why would 2 sdhc card slots be better? i mean two wrongs dont make a right

  • @TheVinnyDshow How many laptops do you know of that have built in compact flash card slots? Particularly for Mac users they are ALL SD card slots. So for convenience, I will take SD over compact flash. Increasing the buffer in the camera is all they need to do to overcome speed issues as SD is fast enough for 1080p HD video so it is simply for fast shooting of stills.

  • i have sony

  • i am a sony a550. i have it for about 2 years now, and i don"t really like it. i have bought only one lens to my sony. could you tell me is it worth to switch to a nikon or canon (rather nikon), and if it is to witch model?(i was considering 7000d or 700d)

  • Hi Matt, just wondering why you have equipments in both system? So when do you choose Canon and when do you choose Nikon, thank!

  • The real question on everyone's mind, lets face it, is which camera excels at macro shots of the anus/rectum. Strangely, no one has commented on this very important, yet often overlooked aspect. My proctologist claims it's the Canon, but he's clearly biased because, as many already know, proctologists are often given free cameras by Canon so they can (unethically) make the boast/claim: "Choose Canon, 9 out of 10 proctologists prefer it for macro shots of the human anus". I am insulted by this.

  • I appreciate your videos very much and I was wondering why are you invested in both systems?

  • Out of curiosity, why did you shoot the video in 720p instead of 1080p?

  • @johnnyLikeVideo - I didn't. I converted it to 720p afterwards for smaller file size and faster Youtube upload.

  • If it really buggs you that hard ..you can go for whatever cam you want, but if it would be my money, and i would have a DSLR to grab on to, i would keep it a few more months, just untill the 7 D Mark II would come out, and then decide. I do belive that the sensor in the Nikon is better cause it's NEWER... let's not forget that the 7 D is more than 2 years old... so.. my advice.. if you're not desperate into buying one TOMORROW, hold on 2-3 months and get the 7 D Mark II. That's my choice.

  • @demon23ro - Last I heard, the Canon 7D won't be up-dated until next year.

  • @ArtoftheImage i don't have any insider info..but i do expect Canon to react to the better sensors that Nikon is putting in it's latest DSLR's. I am not say'n that the Canon sensors are bad ... i actually am a Canon fan, it's just that the age of the sensors shows. Both in 7d and in 60d. I do think that both 7d and 60d will be changed before the end of the year.(that's just a guess.if i was working now at Canon,i would PUSH the accelerator pedal to try to keep up with Nikon's latest sensors).

  • @ArtoftheImage Which focuses faster the D7000 or the 7D, the 7D has 19 cross type sensors compared to 9 of D7000 does that make any difference. Also the D7000 is a newer camera compared to the 7D what differences are there technology wise. I'm only interested in sports and wildlife photography (action). Which one will you recommend D7000 or the 7D?

  • @demon23ro The 7D mark II isn't coming out until mid 2012 so it is pointless to wait

  • @demon23ro yeah you posted this 8 months ago and still the 7d mark isn't out so yeah Nikon d7000 is way better than 7D

  • if anyone will get the D7000 over the 7D it is safe to say the stupidest move you ever did.

  • @juidas - Now that's a really silly comment.

  • @ArtoftheImage : Sorry this is my Opinion

7D is better weather sealing; grip & build quality, better fps, better video & better auto focus system,

  • @juidas - Perhaps better weather sealing, grip and build quality are about equal, fps I'll give you, better video is arguable as is better auto focus. The Nikon D7000 has better image quality, which is in the end, the heart of the whole system.

  • @ArtoftheImage : Yes, the Nikon Image is better but only on a very high ISO. but from 100-1600 Canon is better. and keep in mind 7D is a 2 year older model. thats why the Sensor of Nikon is cleaner.

  • @juidas

make a lot sense to me ... at last straight forward

  • @juidas how substantive

  • shooting with a 7d is like shooting with a brick. I've never held a d7000 but i'm pretty sure if weight is an issue go for the d7000.

  • @sendhelpbaylon the d7000 is about three whole ounces less than the 7D. I own neither.

  • better for video? really? so what are pros like vincent laforet, philip bloom, shane hurlbut using? mostly canon bodies.

  • are you kidding me the AI on the canon 7d is way better

  • @iHateEliKanMic that's a questionable statement. Could you please explain how you've arrived to this conclusion? Thx!

  • Matt, your review appears to be biased towards Nikon. (No, I don't have a 7D). You bring up some good points, but fail to mention things like FPS rates and AF system, where Canon might have an advantage.

  • @dynamitmsk the d7000 has a better AF system than the 7d

  • I agree with you! Nikon all the way for me.

  • One thing you didn't mention is that with Canon you can use a wide variety of third party lenses without probelms, for example you can get stunning results with vintage lenses bought from ebay for peanuts and just a conversion ring where as with Nikon this can be problematic and cause focusing issues due to the distance from the mount to the sensor. I'm buying a Canon for that reason alone.

  • @NakedJKid - You can use a wide variety of lenses with Nikon DSLR 's as well. There are adapters available, same as for Canon.

  • @ArtoftheImage yes but most adaptors for Nikon require an extra element due to the distance created by the adapter between the lens mount and the camera sensor and as I mentioned already this can cause focusing issues, i.e. an inability to focus to infinity rendering many lenses useless or indeed not as sharp as you would like.

  • @NakedJKid - I think you'll find this will be the same with Canon DSLR's too.

  • @NakedJKid - Besides, I don't think it's as much as an issue as you think. Many people use off-brand lenses on Nikon bodies with adapters with excellent results.

  • @ArtoftheImage you may be right because I haven't tried myself but I've heard of many people having problems and being limited with what they can use.

  • which camera did you film this with?

  • @forumpaul - Nikon D7000.

  • well come on guys ... there is always the nikon and canon fan boy "battle" :) at the end, both camera are just great. pro's and con's weigh up somehow. at the end it comes to the menu structure and how well you get used to it. for me i get better along with the nikon menu. I think this is a very important point. both cameras make very good pictures and movies as well ...

  • Hi. I don't entirely agree with Matt. I think 7D is a better camera than D7000, specially if you need those extra features like better video capabilities, 8fps, larger/faster buffer which allows you to shoot about 25RAW or lots of JPGs (probably 100+) in a single burst. I agree, Nikon has a nice sensor, but it is not so much better than Canon's. Maybe it is more about in-camera image processing when shooting JPG, because RAW high ISO noise performance is very similar.

  • @fstopdr you should get a bigger cf card if your gonna be shooting vids and maybe the battery grip like i did. depending on the movie mode like 1080p,720 or standed def and the frame rate 24p/60p/50p will deside how much memory is needed. google 7d video tips there is alot out there i dont want to get into it to much here but ether way congrats on your new cam.

  • As always, great video.

I just bought a Canon 7D and good Lord, is it over my head!!! I used the video for the first time today... wow! WHAT A BATTERY AND MEMORY HOG!!!! I think it records about 1 GB for every 3 minutes. Is that possible?

Is there a 'Canon 7D dvd for idiots?' I can supply the 7D AND the idiot!

  • the high iso is awsome on the d7000 but the canon 7d is one hell of a cam and if your using it with good glass and your a good photogopher your gonna get good pics with ether or

  • a 35gb 60mb/s is 150 bucks and your getting over a 1000 raw files. cf cards are much faster at reading data and just better over all

  • The High ISO capabilites of the D7000 alone would be enough reason to make the switch, and the dual cards are brilliant, not just for capacity, but the ability to assign them..1 for RAW one for Jpeg, or one for dedicated video and one for stills etc (I imagine you can do that) Just a very smart design overall

  • Canon overheat?.....

  • o one more thing if you pick up a 32gb 60mp/s udma or a 64gb 90mp/s cf card you wont need to worrie about 2 cards believe me i can take over 1000 raw images at 18mp easy and with 64gb your talking over 2000 raw

  • @bwinn10 mmmm the price of a 64gb 90mp/s cf card is about 550 USD ... yo can buy a entry level DSLR for that money, or a pretty good lens... I think I prefer two cards.

  • your better off spending your money on good glass for your canon right know then upgrading to a new body/brand.

  • I would go with a Nikon D7000. The 7D can shoot images at 8 fps and record videos at 60fps(great for slow motion work). The 7D does not talk SDHC cards.

  • Cheers Matt, i enjoy your video's mate.

  • One of the reasons people like Canon for video is slowmo 50p & 60p. Canon fixed the over heating problem in the 60D & T3i. The heat comes from the cmos sensor and the lcd screen. Flip out screens reduce heat.

  • @mp4podcastDOTcom - That's kinda funny cause the over-heating problem I'm experiencing is on my Canon 60D, and it does it quite frequently. Enough so that I've switched to using my Nikon D7000 for most of my video work. Frankly, the video looks just as good for my needs, and I prefer the smaller files.

  • @ArtoftheImage Are you flipping out the LCD screen on the 60D?

Canon is weird I've heard of people buying one Canon model that overheats bad then someone else buys the same model and have zero over heating issues. It seems that Canon can be a hit or miss with the overheating problem.

The best HDSLR I heard for for video making is the Panasonic line the GH-2. It has the sharpest Image of any HDSLR well it's really a HDSL no mirror.

  • great video but, you didn't mention how the D7000 has way better low light photos/video.

  • @BIGGGY305 - That's what I was talking about when I said the Nikon D7000 has a better sensor.
