when sparing I use a single Tok Sau when im on the outside. I aim behind the elbow when i catch a punch, i usually have to step in but if it works i can push someone onto the back foot by pushing their elbow into their face. this stops them using their other hand and allows me to hit their exposed ribs. - just my ideas.
I do it slow if I am working on a part I have truble with or trying to come up with ideas. Once you know your techniques are good you pick up the pace and use more force I hit my dummy almost full force.
I haven't heard any other cantonese person/hong kong person say it any other way. It doesn't mater what it is called, but it is what it is. A martial art that is based on the human body, physics of the human body , made for the human body.
It is good to do it slow sometimes to see what needs to be corrected or what needs to improve. Catching it on film or/and having your Sifu correct you would help even more.
Practicing it fast sometimes can also be beneficial if you know what you are doing.
practicing wooden dummy is supposed to be slow.. only if you're beginning. don't you speed up your siu lim tau now that you've done it a good 100 times? slow on the tan sau maybe but the rest cna be faster. with more practice, speed isn't a problem. all my si sook and si sook gung's do it fast.
I think that is the true uniqueness of wing chun, personal interpretation. Some do things faster some do them slow, but in the end the core should be there. I personally do siu lim tau 3 ways, standard moderate speed roughly 1 minute 45 second form, then fast full power roughly 25 seconds for the form, then meditative style average 15 to 20 minutes for the form. There is no best way just different ways. I think you know what I mean.
doing the form slowly perfectionates your moves. doing the form faster adapts your moves in full speeds. u need to be able to do both for the most effective technique. so ur right.
Since it's a translation from Chinese it varries a lot in the way how it's written... So... Wing Tsun, Ving Tsun, WIng Chun, WIng Tzun, Wing Tchun, are all the same... Same as the forms... siu nim tao, siu lim tao... etc etc... Depends a lot on the country where it's practised i've noticed
no, yjey are NOT the same, wingtsun is trademarked & has copyright!!so , that's the reason scum like boztepe use wingtzun, other scum use wintchun or wingtjun...
wingchun iscommonly used to discribe all the styles & the classical way, just as vingtsun
well, not anymore, since leungting 'modified' it with new ways of entering in chisao sections. Kernspecht modified it again with the latsao programs, antigrappling with boztepe, blitzdefence...
The true original way is still (one & only) thought under grandmaster Victor Khan (classical ving tsun)...wintsun, wingchun could be considered the same, since they use the same principles...
What an idiot, he does it complete wrong. Just like all the other videos here on youtube. Your not supposed to do the wingchun dummy that fast. Its only there to make sure your doing it right. Can someone please post a real wingchun Dummy form ???
The fact that one of Leung Ting's students Lee Yeun Tim pulled a fast one on LT in registering the trade mark in mainland China is a KARMA for this "Hay Si Mit Jo" scum Leung Ting long time coming! That ruins LT's dream of making big bucks in China and he felt "excluded"! What goes around comes around. You betray your Sifu; your students will betray you!
Wing Chun, Wing Tsun, Ving Tsun, whatever; the art doesn't divide people, people divide themselves. It started by the scum Leung Ting who wanted to monopolize the art so he registered the trade mark "Wing Tsun" in order to exclude other practitioners from HK. This is a very selfish act to benefit himself but not the art. Young followers of LT don't know any better but believe their art is superior to other branches without realizing is was the result of LT's self-serving greed.

who cares?
luisin1984 2 years ago
@Marvel952 I respect both masters, but i don't think Master Sergio is better than sifu benno...
There both good in there own style, Master Sergio is more traditional than Benno, Who has a ''moderner'' mind.
The one isnt better than the other, only difference
sorry for my bad english

auskorob 3 years ago
were's your forward energy?
you seam to be redirecting your energy sidewards & not forwards
why are you losing contact with the dummy?
you really should be tighter than you are

Good use of camera angles here. Be honest - how useful is double tok sau as a technique ? Ever used it in sparring ?

Wing tsun and Wing Chun are 2 different forms?

No, they are the same. It is the pronunciation that is a little different depending if you are a Westerner or from Asian region.
