  • I love when I can sometimes see the curvature of the earth. XD

  • He is an idiot, educated by idiots!! I wonder what he's up to these days?

  • Carl Sagan - my hero.

  • sagan is awesome but probably himself he knew he didn't have the answers universe is like trying to figure out how the brain works nothing but theory

  • ah this is nothing more than theorie.... humans will never know! the "visible universe" by itself is allready too friggin big to ever reach its ends, if it has ends that is.

  • Theory is not different than religion if you think about it. Neither of them is 100% correct.

One answers questions based on faith and spirituality

And the other answers it by logic

  • yes but i have to say logic is the way to go.

  • Taolbi..Theory and religion are in no way the same. Theory can be (and constantly is being) tested and will always be proven or disproven. It leads to all the things you enjoy and take for granted in this life - computers, radio, television, air travel, space travel, medical cures...it goes on and on. Religion on the other hand demands faith (aka blind belief). It cannot be tested and in fact HATES being tested and has given the world very little other than war, conflict, persecution and misery.

  • yeah but religion is bullshit and it's not correct

  • We can't stop caring about our mental lives and only care about whats tangible and logical. Its Unhealthy!

We can't blindly follow a religion, nor should we devote our life to study and logic.

IMO. Religion is just as important in science because they both solve different problems. Instead of them clashing, they should co exist. If we eliminate religion, there'll be no basis for culture and arts. If there's no science, we'll live in ignorance and fear.

I hope it clears my opinion up a bit.

  • @Taolbi Science solves its set of problems by organizing our understanding into theories. Spirituality can fuel the arts. Religious dogma on the other hand is pure incorrigible bloody poison. Maybe you meant philosophy, which can help explore possible answers that scientific technique can't reach, but its conclusions are to be accepted on conscious faith, rather than espoused as truth.

  • @FluffyBunniesOnFire Sounds good. I just hope people find a happy medium in their lives.

  • 4:13 - 4:14 ftw

  • wtf is ftw

  • wtf? how tf do you not know what ftw means?

    for the win, bro

  • in fact the universe is likely flat

  • dame dude Carl sagens WAS THE BOME.

  • Check out the LIL CARL ACTING AT 3:59! Look out Carl! WEEE!

  • Carl sagan is a true legend. The cosmos series should be taught in schools.

  • I will truly miss how he made science simple for us all. RIP Carl. You belong up there with the "star stuff"

  • Its amazing how models of the universe have changed in the last 2 decades since this came out. We now know the universe will expand forever at an ever increasing rate.

  • i miss him as does the rest of humanity. He is one of few people whose impact will and should be felt forever. We are but a pale blue dot.

  • We don't know that, maybe there is more darkmatter and universe will not expand forever and ever

  • We don't know for sure that's the case. Gve us a coupleof hundred years for more observation.

  • "He accepted the hard truth over his most dearest illusions." If only people could do that these days...
