This is not swannee river and the beach boys were just a poor copy job of Jan and Dean. Let's give credit where it due. I'd rather see good ol' boys like Black Oak Arkansas do great southern songs. What do the beach boys have to do with the south? Remember, Jan & Dean were the originals.
I've been listening to this song for days now (this version and the one from "Fantastic Mr. Fox"). Does anyone know if there is anything else out there like raw takes or rehearsal tapes?
That's just so cool, I couldn't add anything to it. One of my favorite of their unreleased tracks, an American standard, and classic, no less, with a wonderful interpretation by Brian Wilson.
And, also, the incredible visual display of their musical output, extensive that it is, from your personal collection. The two compliment each other. I'll be referring to this many times in the future. Thank you.
What Brian Wilson did with these American classics is incredible. Two great American standards interpreted by the greatest American music artist of them all.
That's a very cool BB shirt you've got there @ 0:33!

Plenty of BW magic in there, shame these were never finished.
I love the strings at 27-33 secs and that lovely fat bassline (Carol Kaye?) at 1-48 onwards.

pretty sure it's Ray Pohlman on bass. but you're right, too bad it wasn't completed. definitely reminiscent of the SMiLE era.
