  • Flagged. :D

  • Loved this song since the '70s.

  • How I wish I could stay the same age (lived a fast life don't wanna chance it again haha) but be put back into 1978 or so. The world has changed so much and America is so fucked up now....take me back baby.

  • Lol. God I love those east coast New Yak and Joisey accents HEADKNOCKA

  • one person got their head knocked.

  • Fartknocker, fartknocker...

  • @KRACKERJACK6913 what an intelligent response. you seem to be very pleased with your age; not sure what that is all about.....my "stupid fuckin name" is after the composer JSBach of the Baroque era, which I prefixed the numbers 1,2 and 3 to. I know it’s all very complex for someone with little going on upstairs save for the ability to threaten people with physical violence. I’m not scared incidentally.

  • @123jsbach I WOULD KICK YOUR LIMEY ASS,HOWS THAT FOR AN INTELLIGENT RESPONSE, YOU PIECE OF BACH ERA SHIT!

  • id fuckn like to see anyone giving me or anyone I know a blackeye. Id hit them in the coupon with the frying pan before they got a chance. bit of a lads song i think.

  • Bought the album in 1977. Still in good working order. Recorded it on a cassette back then and it still sounds ok. TDK cassettes were the gold standard back then for us and now I know why. They hold up great!!!

  • @PaBasser haha man I remember TDK and them being top of the line!

  • Saw them in 1979 Omaha Neb. !!!!!!!!

  • Great album. Goes in my top 50 all time.

  • Haven't heard this in a million years! Thanks for the post!

  • he said Smith and Weston. LOL.

  • @sabbathtage25, Grow up before he shows it to you! I thought it was funny because I have a Smith&Wesson

  • Rochester, NY..........1978

  • Outstanding and heretofore rare tune on YouTube! Thanks!!

  • "Swears James Dean isn't dead"........Bad-Assed Jamz!! Thanks for post!!

  • @JulieMary47 So, was Lynard SKinnard! band.

  • original rejected names for this song:

    Fartknocker

    Knobgobber

    Buttmuncher

    Sockfucker

  • @tacomonster98 You forgot rump ranger.

  • @screwdigitaldish yes! lol

  • first time i actually read the lyric. "backseat mauler." that phrase seems to cross the line from healthy raunch into....sexism, even misogyny. no wonder the band had a reputation for being "sexist" or "misogynistic." apparently, these little "gems" are scattered throughout the band's songs.

  • Was here when this band kickesd my ass along with many others. Stoned Then And Still Am Stoned ! Fucking Tunes Still Sound Fucking Great!!!!

  • Great song, wish this song was released as a single, I find it to be a lot catchier than "Long Long Way From Home" (another good Foreigner song) although this is one of their heavier songs they've ever done in their career

  • Shit dude! I don't own the copyright either. I'd love to help ya out but I can't LOL But thx for uploading it!

  • Fan for 33 years 1976

  • Fan for 33 years

  • wish this song would have been released as a single, this song totally kicks ass, the original lineup is IMO the best era of Foreigner

  • A minor correction on the lyrics:

    "He's a backseat baller"

For you younger cats, that means he nails ladies in the back of his coupe. Not that he shoots hoops in the back of his coupe. ;)

  • @Gozaryn ..............(buzzer)...Sorry...Try again. It's 'mauler'. Numerous lyric websites agree. Listen real hard before you correct lyrics, cause it'll bite you in the ass. Like it is now!!!

  • @6superb9 mauler....baller....who cares? it's foreigner.....

  • @texs2007 actually, "baller" might be somewhat more acceptable. the "balling" may be entirely consensual. "mauler" suggests that the action might NOT be.

  • @jonbecker03 funny thing is,i'd always heard the lyric as ''ballroom brawler'' myself.

  • this (the first album)was the best Foreigner music....

  • So good to Hear Lou!!! What a great Band...Lots of memories jamming this bad boy back in the day.

  • Thank you for the original version. Awesome!

  • @JesusFreakJene You're welcome! :D

  • @JesusFreakJene You took the words right out of My mouth :0 Bravo!

  • Oh, the memories!

  • Rocky Radio...... Stupid People of the world - DO NOT MESS WITH PEOPLE BORN IN CHICAGO & HUNG OUT WITH KY PEOPLE!

  • I had this on 8 track when it was brand new music.

  • Classic. this reminds of of a girl i liked when this song was popular..When time stood still...

  • Could you add the studio versions to "At War With the World", "Damage is Done" and "Starrider" on here.

  • Rocky Radio......... Lou Gramm has the vloice indeed. And James Dean is not Dead!! haha!

  • Why is this music still so freaking awesome??

  • @screwdigitaldish Because the GODZ dig good Rock N Roll......

  • @guitarconasor It's also in a song by Stories called Brother Louie which was sung by Ian Lloyd who sang some of the background vocals on Foreigner albums

  • LOL!!! We used to sing this song to my big brother back in the day...lol fit him to a T!! Oh thanks for the memories...going to send this song to him now *grins*

  • It only sounds right on the vinyl!

  • Wasn't 1:31 a reference to "Brother Louie" by The Stories?

  • @Doobie1975 Ian Lloyd, the lead singer of Stories did backup vocals on most Foreigner albums including this one. This song is supposed to be based on him but some disagree.

  • Ed Gagliardi (the bassist of their first two albums) is IMO the best bass player they ever had and they should have never kicked him out of the band, same thing with Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood later on, to me the real Foreigner era was when they've had Ian, Al and Ed in the group

  • @Doobie1975 It is a shame that Mick Jones didn't allow the original Foreigner to grow and cultivate. Their background vocals were Foreigner's best also. Also if Mick Jones had let the other members write their own songs for the group and support Gramm's writings more, they would have a few more albums and who knows how many more classic songs. Jones is an excellent song writer and guitarist but he's a douche.

  • @tryithere I really loved the background vocals of the original lineup and it was a shame that Mick Jones's ego grew so large that he chose not to let the other members contribute more to the group, I think their subsequent albums would have been great if they remained together much longer and them contributing more to the group, their vocal harmonies of their early stuff reminds me of the Beach Boys

  • @Doobie1975 I don't know if you know it or not but if you do a "Spys Foreigner" search, you will find the band Gagliardi and Greenwood started after Foreigner.

  • @tryithere I have heard one of Spys's songs and I thought they were a great group, I wish they were as successful as Foreigner was. I don't know what Mick Jones was thinking when he took Foreigner towards the pop/ballad direction and I also wonder how Ian, Al and Ed felt about Foreigner writing love ballads?

  • @Doobie1975 Spys song "Don't Run My Life" basically tells Mick Jones to F off for being such a contoller. They have a song on their second album ragging on Lou Gramm but it isn't really on the same level.

  • @tryithere I'm kind of surprised they would be ragging on Lou Gramm cause I never thought they've had any problems with him, there are times I wish Foreigner was Lou Gramm's band instead of Mick Jones, I'll have to listen to "Don't Run My Life" sometime

  • @tryithere What was the song that the Spys did that was ragging on Lou Gramm?

  • @Doobie1975 Sheep don't talk back, He was a member of Black Sheep before Foreigner but I don't remember the words.

  • @Doobie1975 I believe it was "Don't Run My Life.was a reference to Mike Jones. But for Lou's song I really don't know..

  • I can't believe this song was never released as a single, this song totally kicks ass, I wish it was a minute longer though

  • Foreigner without Lou Gramm is SAD!

  • absolutely great shit

  • a very good rock band AND A MAGIC LOU GRAMM's VOICE !!!!!!!

  • I've never much cared for Foreigner...but this song is f'ing great! I guess that I must be a greaser-at heart!

  • this song is f'ing great....the meaning of "IN THE POCKET BASS LINE"

  • BEST SONG BY FOREIGNER EVER.....

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I m a head knocker

  • He drives a '57 coupe

    Walks with a stoop

    Swears James Dean isn't dead

  • Long live the Jones-Gramm-McDonald-Elliott-Greenwood-Gagliardi lineup, that was IMO the best Foreigner lineup of them all, what on earth was Mick Jones thinking when he sacked Ed Gagliardi and then later Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood?

  • Kick Ass Rock & Roll! I sure miss it! Love this swaggar!!!!!!!

  • great song

  • Whoa Babe ;3 I love your video :3 Nice audio :D

  • This song totally kicks ass! About fucking time this song is on YouTube again, this song IMO should've been the follow up single to "Long Long Way From Home"

  • It's realy cheesy to use photos of the new singer while playing the original Lou Gramm recording.

  • heyy thanks!!

  • How do you get such amazing sound?! This clip is so crisp. Awesome.

  • @Aliendear

hahaha, you're silly. Stereo's today are much louder. More efficient speakers and amplifiers = more volume. Check out the DB drag races if you don't believe me, some of those vehicles are loud enough to literally kill you

  • @KevinSaale i don't like death stereos

  • @KevinSaale and I was refering to home stereos. not car stereos.

  • @KevinSaale

Stereos today blow. If your receiver doesn't weigh at least 50lbs it aint gonna cut it. Without the large transformers and caps it isn't going to get the job done. Back in the day the output was rated differently, and todays 100 watts is more like 20 old school watts and there is no comparison to the sound the old units of the 70's and early 80's put out.

  • @Aliendear "The cops were not ferocious"

Where'd u gro up?Everywhere I & friends lived had bad cops. Dogs sicked on you for bein at a keg party by a river somewhere in '73, getting ur head beat into ur car 4 turning around in a drive way, suspicious I know. Caught 4 beer under 21 & said handcuffs hurt, get beat with flashlight, say at a festival that a cop should get off a guys neck he's standing on , seven cops beat u on ground w slap jacks for 5 minutes solid, lock you up.

    Live under a rock?
