I just finished farming Plesioth for an Plesioth Crystasword (needed materials from 2 normal Plesioth's and 2 green ones) so i can beat Black Gravios. I was using full hermitaur w/ eager cleaver and all i got to say is:

but oh wel doesnt matter I quited this game when I found out I needed to kill 2 tigrex in 1 quest I couldt even killl 1 let alone 2 (I did kil the el;der and guildquest ones but with sheer luck)

@wowgek7 Tigrex is a bit difficult at first, but you really want an electric weapon. They're not common for beginners. My choice since I switched to being a longsword user was upgrading the Iron Katana up one or two levels into the Eager Cleaver (good power, easy to upgrade and has electric element)

After that you just have to prepare yourself well (flash bombs) and take one mission just to learn his moves and dodge him, retire quest after 2nd death.

@wowgek7 What armor were you using? You should be able to try and get the Rathalos and Rathian armors from the Guild Hall missions where you fight them separately. They're a bit tougher than the ones in the Village, but you get more potions and such to fight them with. Spamming flash bombs is key to an easy victory. I reccommend the Black Scythe for a longsword user. Refer to MHNoodle's guide for them :D

just cleared HR7 dual shogun and dual gypceros. They're bad enough when they come into the same area, but dual plesioth? screw that. Not even kirin or X wyvern + bull or velocidrome could ever be that annoying.

Got the true devil slicer, but still.. 7* quests.. Did every other quest first but then at the end... Dual plesioth, water wyvern in the desert and underwater terror to unlock 8* and HR6.

Three quests, four goddamn plesioths. I managed to do it in the end but dual tigrex was NOTHING compared to that private hell. maybe I should have picked a weapon with a guard. Hell, I just beat rathian and pink rathian great arena 8* by capturing both. I'm gonna try rajang next.

OK this is a trick i learn from a friend IT WORK TRY IT, ok this work with any weapon but i prefer LS/HAMMER/GS ok here how we do it once u get it out the water stand in front of his head like not right in front of it but like stay a bit far away from his head but still in front of him , he will DO WATERBEAM which allow u to get hits in, he will do the waterbeam 90% i beat the hr 7 ples using this trick, u just got to be patient while using this.

@chenbo2903 For me i timed when the piesioth came out of the water. dodge his overhead flying and stand infront of him when he "stands/recover" which most likely cause him to shoot out a water jet. Then attack his head. (takes LOTS OF TIME) but min damage for me LOL.and you can quickly dodge his hip atk also.

i always hated killing the plesioth in the jungle coz in the areas where there are many trees u dont even see the bastard although its so huge. worst map ever against plesi is old jungle x((

killing it with LS/GS is a pain but with bow (i am using that dragonearth bow which has pierce and thunder) its real fun to kill. i am playing mhfu for the 2nd time now and use only bow its real fun and i have with my first account (fully completed) maybe already 400h total gameplay and its still fun ^^

@madygreen: sorry i was mistaken, i meant the dragonbow halo. just got my dragonbow earth that day too, so i mixed up everything a lil bit xD you need dragonmoss, dragonwood, kirin thunder tail and elderdragonblood to make it. the kirin stuff is easy to get as bow user coz its easy to kill with a bow which has rapid mode. the dragonmoss/wood u get from trenya sending to the forrest or volcano for >300 pokke points and the elderdragonblood from the elder dragons ;-)

@madygreen: i had to kill several kirins to get 2x tails from it so i had enough stuff to get the whole armor in the end. it has elemental attack up, so i use it against monsters which have a high weakness against an element. so i use it against the plesioth as well.

another good armor i like to use is the one from kushala daora coz it has short charge and protection from the terrain aura of teostra/lunastra.

@madygreen: daora is actually pretty simple if you have a thunder sword (i dont remember the name but you get the strongest thunder long sword from iron katana). you have to use the poison throwing knifes which are supplied coz the daora's wind aura will break when its poisoned. then u can hit its head and when daora falls on the side the aura will be broken until it barkes/screams.

when u break its head the aura will end completely. and u can keep on smashing its head.

or u use a poison sword ;-) there are several ways to kill the daora, imho its the easiest elder dragon in mhfu.

Plesioth would've been cool in Monster Hunter Tri, he could be in the Flooded Forest, plus Tri has underwater fighting, so he would have new moves. I imagine him a 5 Star monster. Plus it would be fun owning that thing with a Switch Axe, Agnaktors one, especially :).

I do agree it's a bitch to wait for them to show their faces, but at least it's better than nothing if they pop out every once in a while - makes it feel more natural, like you're fighting something that actually is trying to stay alive.

Same can't be said for like 70% "boss" monsters in other games, they deliberately do stupid stuff for you to hit them.

Khezu sword (220 thunder attr), power/armour seeds, shocktrap.

His weakness is thunder, i stuck close to his mid body and abused the /_\ and O buttons, lol. I made sure i used the shock trap in the cave area, bcoz its closer proximity. MAke sure you eat rations so youcan run away and heal up bcoz he's a BIG monster and can hit you sumtimes when on low health. Sword is great as its powerful and knocks him over easily after heavy damage. Took 3-4 prolonged slash fests to kill him.

Plesioth is the main argument to why MH isnt the perfect game. Broken design, broken mechanics.

He flies out of water.. glitches in the air and your characters glitches then 2 seconds later gets thrown to the ground with massive damage and Plesioth is already up for another attack.

His time on land between water visits is BS as is it's zoning out tendency.

Hip check and tail whip are just BS as well. "Just roll out through under his legs?" You can be well under it's tail and he still hits you
