I'm an avid fan of The Neverending Story, as I've got the dvd films, a computer game of it, a vinyl 45rpm single of the song by Limahl, as well as the book by Michael Ende.
Out of all the films though, I much prefer the original starring Barrett Oliver and Tami Stronach! :)
one of my farts was when atrayu was going through the swamp after loseing his hourse and the wolf chaseing after him and the luck dragon snatching him up right before the wolf launches at him EPIC
This film is so sad it allways makes me cry like a little child, but the part where you see the ivory-tower for the first time makes my hair stand up and the tears run from my eyes in pure awe.
If there ever was one thing from a dream or movie I could make real it would be the Ivory-tower.
@JamieErwin1986 In about 1988 they would probably have been Murray Walker's actual words spoken over this music on several occasions. Wonderful memories of both a great film and classic Formula 1!
Actually the kids DOES enter the world in the first movie as well. It is an excellent movie. That wolf part scared the hell out of me as a child.....STILL does.
i have the entire soundtrack. i also got a white horse an arabian named bug, whenever i ride her on the trails myself i canter her to this song on my ipod.
i sometimes where my auryn replica with it when im riding
"And here is the starting grid for the 1991 Grand Prix of Monaco, Starting on the front row, Ayrton Senna in the McLaren Honda, and Steffano Modena in the Tyrrell.."
At the end of this movie, the horse, Artax (I think that's his name) turns out to be okay. I liked "Neverending Story", and if the poor animal had remained dead, I wouldn't.
omg everyone says the scene of artax sinking in the swamp is the saddest scene ever in a movie. but if u look at the expression on the horse's face he is like "um...why the flip are u yanking on my reigns? they are in my mouth ya know :-/"
The 80's was the prime for fantasy movies. The three greatest were Neverending story, The Labyrinth and Legend. Very sad how movies these days lack any magic they did then.
for some reason I just thought of this movie name and looked it up, I always had it on the tip of my tongue.. when I was 7 or so I used to own this movie and watched it at least 50 times! brings back so many amazing memories... this movie was and is amazing :)
Ack! I hope they never remake it! This, Legend, Labrynth, the Princess Bride.. You can't improve on perfection! And think how creepy it would be to see computer generated goblins, dragons, unicorns, or anyone other than David Bowie playing Jareth. Leave our classics alone! :P
Going through some 20 year old VHS videos of BBC Grand Prix highlights, and hearing this song again inspired me to seek this out - as I thought different to the version I remember from the film.

omg... it sounds... old!!!!! *covers ears* lol they really need to make a modern version of neverending story. It has a good storyline, but very bad graphics compared to modern ones.
This is not the Ivory Tower theme in the American version. It is similar. The one in the movie has a unreal quality to it, less nightclub sounding and soooooooo beautiful. Great video though!!!
This is great hun! i love it. Its a great movie. While i was in japan, i had alot of time to spend at my host parent's home (alone) so i watched this movie like 3 times XD its great!
hey i got this wicked idea, warner should release a special edition dvd with both the american and the original german versions. that way everyone gets the version they want!
If you want the truth, the Moroder soundtrack is way better. And for what it is worth, the version of the Ivory Tower by Moroder as used in the film was never released outside of the film. So you can't find it anywhere, but in the movie.
This is Moroder. But this song is not used in any version of the movie, but it is on the soundtrack. The American version of the film has a variant of this song; while European versions use a completely different song for the Ivory Tower theme.
Somewhere in my attic I have the 12" single of the Neverending Story with the Ivory Tower on the B side....I don't have a record player anymore so I never thought I would hear this again! Many thanks!!
My best friend looks just like Falcor; we always tease him about it and say "Aaaatreeeeyuuuuu while jutting our head out and stretching out neck", lol, even when we went to Japan somesaid said he looked like Falcor.
That's not a remix as such. It's the "original" version you can find on the soundtrack on and on the B side of the Limahl single. It's not the version which is in the movie though... :/

One pole position it's Ayrton Senna and next to him is on the front row it's Alain Prost. In 3rd place it's the Ferrari of Gerhard Berger
