  • I DON'T GET IT. what's expert in this?

  • I miss the old Square days.

  • Music's epic.

  • i want to mount chicolina

  • I'm so gonna wreck this game!!!! beat the first one, few hard obstacles here and there, can't wait for this one!! : D

  • Final Fantasy XII was the last good FF. Period. And XI blew too.

  • @AKABoondock19 FF12 was gay it had no real story or method it was just a to make money game.

  • @AKABoondock19 12 is my personal favorite. There was a lot of places to explore, having guest members felt like actually having 4 party members in battle like in the old FFs, and the battle system was pretty alright. It flowed well with exploration

  • anyone gonna try playing the game without using monsters? It seems like an "expert" way to play lol

  • @XenonRider7 I don't even think you can stagger the monsters if you got only two people in your party... XD and I bet you can't achieve the 5 star rating in a fight... unless you have a Godly weapons and accessories boosting your stats... XD

  • @rubeetora Not necessarily. If you keep switching between [Commando-Ravager] and [Ravager-Ravager] (and [Saboteur-Ravager] works too) Then you can stagger them faster, just be sure to switch to the commando one, but if that's not possible, then [Saboteur-Ravager] is the way to go since it raises the bar and drops slowly. However the damage counter won't go very high. But these are the best stagger methods for 2 party members.

  • @GenmaTheSamurai u make a nice point about shifting from ravager- saboteur its good tho i find that 1 can not simply help some1 by telling them wat setup to use and for the player to find out wat he is comfterble with therefore there is no best para setup to go with just wat the player feels is good enough to battle with it.

  • @SCYTECHGAMING Yeah, it's totally true. I was just saying it IS possible to stagger someone with 2 party members. Not that I'm telling you how to play. Whatever works for you is what you should do :)

  • @rubeetora I got a five star rating with a newbie blade

  • @mastermanigo1 haha..cool! maybe im not as good as u XD haha lol

  • @rubeetora Nah your most likely better I was just playing the demo

  • @rubeetora booyah

  • Comment removed

  • So is it turned based or not. I can't really tell

  • @djlazyful there's a QTEs... well, it's real-time turn-based XD hehe

  • @rubeetora Oh, check the demo~! whether you're an xbox or ps3 user...

  • there certainly seems to be alot going on in this game

  • I hope I atleast lose some battles in this because XIII was to easy....

  • @isom2393 yea, i beat the last boss on my first try

  • FFXIII was linear ?????? Yeah the 2 first cd i think u forgot the 64 mission on open map and all the farming stuff that takes twice the time than the linear part i think it was a gg and this one will be better

  • @spartan487 People go by what they hear, half the people commenting have never play FF13. They've simply based their opinions on biased, ignorant reviews. This is the reason that so many good games never see the light they deserve, games like Shenmue.

  • @RobNttBob hail to that... or it's not their genre... most people expect sand-boxes games nowadays... and western gamers are more on the multiplayer/first-person-shooting and not on the traditional JRPGs.... "never see the light..." I think Valkyria Chronicles is one of that. (VC3 that is...)

  • @spartan487

All that stuff was just mindless grindy side stuff though and had no relevance on the games story journey which is usually whats more important in an FF game and any RPG for that matter.

  • @spartan487

Except the missions were boring as crap.

  • @spartan487 Yeah, that was like what, 10 hours in? Plus, those missions were a drag after doing like 20, same thing every time. Farming was a drag too because enemies take too long to respawn.

  • @spartan487 Do you speak english?

  • @spartan487 Saying "the last two thirds aren't so linear" doesn't really help when the first third is so boring that no one wants to play past it.

  • @alkafrazin plus it get's linear right after the only zone that isn't linear

  • @spartan487 well people neglect everything just because it's not their emo ff7 game.

  • @TheMustik92 goddamn! YOU'RE SO RIGHT :) !!!!! if isn't cloud cry to be alone everything is bad for those fanboys :S (but like them i liked ff7 xD)

  • @cualkercacaxD I'm sorry, but what are you saying? I don't understand you.

  • @TheMustik92 about the comment of FF7 emo stuff xD, what i was trying to say that i agree with your comment, that always remember FF7 when its already finished :P

  • @cualkercacaxD oh ok :)

  • @TheMustik92 so true, the new games are geat and a lot of fun but ppl wont give it a chance because its not spiky hair emo and his big breasted friend. And tbh the story of XIII-2 is way more interesting than 7 ever will be.

  • @TheMustik92 FFVII isn't ''emo'' like you said, you definitly are a xbox user and didn't play any of the good FF (6-10) to say that... and before you say no my favorite FF isn't FFVII it's actually one of those I like the less, FFX is my favorite one... but FFVII was still very good and definitely not emo...

what we're complaining about today's FF is the lack of sidequest, FFXIII had one, the lack of a world map and the control-only-one-character thing present since FFXII

  • @Warriorkiller666 And your mother didn't raise you right consider the fact that you judge people without even knowing them, how the hell do you know if I've ever played any other ff game or not, or own a xbox. FYI I've played every ff from 4 to 13-2 and I sold my xbox a long time ago and bought a ps3. If you don't think that ff7 was emo? Then I want to take whatever drug you were on when you played the game. You say today ff lacks side-quests? Then play 13-2, it's filled with them and open maps.

  • @TheMustik92 I didn't play FFXIII-2 yet so i'm not commenting on this one, although I heard ther were correcting XIII mistakes thus making the game less linear with shops and sidequest. Do you know what's an emo? an emo is someone that listens to faggy emo music and dresses like a dork so chicks will see that he is sensitive and not afraid to express himself then he rants out that nobody understands... I did not see that anywhere in FFVII nor in ANY FF for that matter...

  • @Warriorkiller666 True, but that's not only what emo is. It's also people who don't give a shit about anyone and acts like a cold heartless prick towards everyone... kinda like Cloud.

  • @TheMustik92 but if you look at today's FF (since FF X-2)

FFX-2: had a lot of sidequest, but most of them were really too girly to be good (the date-minigame is one of them)

FFXI: MMO so it dosen't matter

FFXII: one ''important'' Sidequest :hunts, then the race mini-game and the fishing mini-game that dosen't really do anything good, the side-espers wich were at least very diversified and hard, and Omega Mark XII wch was fun to beat

    FFXIII: one sidequest

    FFXIV: MMO

  • @Warriorkiller666 agreed mmo doesn't count, some might like the girly quests, I don't however, you can't say it doesnt count 'cause some like 'em and lastly, no you're wrong, ffxiii had 64 sidequests.

  • @TheMustik92 Lol'ed at that... it had 1 sidequest the missions, have 64 of them dosen't means it 64 different quests, I didn't stated FFXII has 57 Sidequests either, nor did I mention FFX having hundreds of sidequest (one for each mosnter captured) it's one big sidequest consisting of the missions.

As for FFX-2 I didn't say it didn't count, only that I didn't like them, and didn,t want to list them all but X-2 is the only ''recent FF'' with loads of sidequest.

  • @Warriorkiller666 oh ok if you want to count that then it had the rescue chocobo from monsters, the paddra immortal ceith, titans trial and bhakti quests. In the end you're wrong. It's more than one.

  • @TheMustik92 rescue chocobo from monster is mission 14 thus still a mission and not another sidequest, Paddra Immortal Cie'th is mission 7 and 64 2 missions so not an actual sidequest,Titans trial are other missions, still not a sidequest on it's own, Bhakti's repair is indeed a ''sidequest'' but it take 5 minute to complete so it isn't a lot of variety nor do you need any skill to do it since it's only ''walk there and pick this lying around''

  • @Warriorkiller666 Bhakti is more than the repair, it's also for the every item in the game side quest. You say that missions aren't side quest, then what is? Every rpg that has sidequest are missions meaning something you have to do inorder to get items or money, same goes for XIII. I don't know what's your view of an sidequest but last time I checked it's something optional which involves you getting items for people or kill some monsters, which is what XIII is, - the getting item for people.

  • @TheMustik92 please, ''every item Sidequest'' isn't a sidequests it's justif you want to waste some time farming one mob over and over again, it's a farming trophy nothing else... and missions are sidequest only it's one big sidequest not 64 different sidequest and it's the only one FFXIII has (since no walking 10 000 step isn't a sidequest, nor scoring a 5 star rating on the final boss, and neither is to cast libra at 100 different ennemy those are trophy)

    (continued)

  • @Warriorkiller666 A sidequest is a quest (thus the name sidequest) given by someone to either kill someone, go take an item etc for a reward, the missions are one but that's it, there is also minigames, wich are side things to do at lost time to break the pace of the game, again the game has one (2 if you count bhakti wich tikes 5 sec) the chocobo digging thing. beside thant those thing it's the story or the trophies there is nothing else...

  • @Warriorkiller666 it's a lot less if you look at older FF's:

FFVII: hidden materias, chocobo breeding, the Weapons, the Gold Saucer, Sunken Gelnika, the Limits, VIncent Valentine, Yuffie, Yuffie stealing materias, Yuffie's Dojo

FFVIII: Omega Weapon, the ship thing where you got Bahamut and fight Ultima Weapon, the Limits, Card game, the side-GF, Island closest to Hell/Heaven, Chocobo forests

FFIX: Chocobo forest, Ozma, the two minigame fights

    (continued)

  • @Warriorkiller666 the card game, the Ultimate Weapons, Excalibur 2, maybe more (I didn't play a lot of FFIX so that's what is ocmning to my mind right now)

FFX: Hidden Aeons, the ships password, Celestial Weapon, the monster arena, capturing monsters, blitzball, the overdrives, Dark aeons/Penance in the PAL/Jap version, Chocobo race (in remiem temple), Chocobo training (wich conclude with a race agains't the trainer) capturing butterfly.

So yeah new FFs lacks sidequest...

  • @spartan487 FFXIII WAS linear, there is ONE open zone and the mission stuff is fun at first, gets redundant after like 10, farming is never an answer for linearity since you can do that everytime and everywhere. what everyone is saying is that FFXIII was linear from chapter 1 through 10 and again from the middle of chapter 11 until the very end after you can return to the only zone that is not linear if you want, it's still only one zone...

  • I need to buy a PS3/X360 just to play FFXIII and FFXIII-2 and know what the hell is going on in the screen.

  • @MrVictorfermino xDDD its all automatic.

  • Never disliked the battle system, I just hope the story is way less linear than XIII

  • @Rawnchie14 Me too. I love the battle system. I just got bored in the middle in Gran Pulse since the story kinda dissolve.. and a bit disappointed on the ending...

  • those flan with the sirens are sooo freaking annoying!

  • Are there goin to be towns

  • @KingRico904 Yes.

  • the battle mechanics sucks which not that fun to play they should of made it like kingdom hearts ya know where you can move when fighting

  • @The7269

    then look into FFXIII Versus

the team who made KH is making Versus

  • They brought a monster to fight? Isn't this the same idea ToS:DotnW had?

  • I just played the demo. Honestly, I like it. I've played most of the final fantasy games (not all) and I appreciate the changes. Yes, I have to admit. 13 was linear and you had to basically go in a straight line but that is why they put the Historia Crux System in which basically allows you to travel to different time gates. This adds a significant element of nonlinearity. The battle system is fine. 1-3 Turn. 4-9 ActiveTime. 10 ConditionalTurn. 11 RealTime. 12 ActiveDimension. 13 ATB/Paradigms.

  • One thing I hated about FF13 was that it was on rails. You were forced to follow a path. That was seriously fucked. Really, Square Enix, why couldn't you just copy the format of FF7 but with the graphics of FF13. Tards, you're a bunch of tards...

  • @holyfajitas If you did some investigating instead of running your ill-self-advised-mouth off you'd know that Square have said in order to make a game as substantial as FF7 with HD graphics they would need to spend three-and-a-half to four times as long on it as they did on FF7 - which was over three years

  • Even beyond the fact that they are very different types of games, there are other reasons FF is impossible to compare fairly with games like Mass Effect or Skyrim.

    1) FF has always been family friendly. You arent going to see cursing, sex scenes, gay marriage or decapitation in FF. This means that story wise, they will be very different.

    2) Cultural differences. In Japan (especially in anime), characters like Vanille and Hope are very popular, while the piss westerners off.

  • @dogzer your judging a game you havent tried

not to mention your "lost attention" due to a rating system

    really?

give it a try before you decide that its crap man

  • Comment removed

  • im looking foward to it i like the last one it wasn't the best fantasyive played but was a 7 out of 10

  • This game excites me. The music, the graphics, and the very fact that it's already received perfect scores from gaming magazines is enough to keep my attention. It's very telling of the game's quality when its developers listened to the pleas of their fans.

  • This music is gonna get be all worked up ready, to take on a adamantoise -if they still have those-!!!

  • @XxTheEternalOnexX they do still have them^^

    /watch?v=BqAMEpEnEfY&feature=related

  • @jessnima Sweet!!! Now I gotta think of some killer strategy :{)

  • y does every1 fight it's just a game ppl have different opinions nothing is true about what anyone says just your view is true

  • @killalilmane Nothing is true,everything is permited.

  • OMG the FLAN is back!!!!

  • This battle theme is better than XIII.

  • I like the music in the background I can't find it on the soundtrack or shazam.

  • @AndyMacProGamer it's called Last hunter, look it up on youtube. love it.

  • @stemc1000 no just use Songr it's a good software to get anything

  • @AndyMacProGamer the soundtrack name is called Last Hunter

  • @SMDpeps The song is called Last Hunter

  • This game is gonna be freakin epic. i'm just waiting for the release day and ima play this nonstop and i agree with Lancer about X-2 it was a let down sort of.

  • I personally loved 12 the most X3

  • If only some how i get to recruit vanille and fangs fusion form from the last game as a monster i wonder how easy the game would be

  • 22 are still on basic skills.

  • 13 was my 3rd favorite in the series. 6.7, 13 FTW.

  • From what I've seen, their HP and damage doesn't exceed 9999? But when you look at their stats and see their HP, there's like 6 number digits! Example: Serah HP: 004284. Does that mean their HP cap is 999999? I'm pretty confused about this...

  • XIII-2 and X-2 feature the best battle-systems of the series, thus far (quick, intense, turn-based fighting). Love this music.

  • @NASTAR01

I hated Final Fantasy 10-2. Just saying. Hopefully this won't disappoint.

  • @TheLancer042 I'm struggling to get into it, myself, but the battle system is great regardless.

  • huh, the way they engage the enemies is a bit like Last Remnant

  • It is ROCK AND ROLL!!!!

  • 0:38 Serah's Launch move, sick as hell

  • I wonder if Long Gui is recruitable to the party? If that's possible that'd be EPIC :P

  • well wiht reviews and shiz i agree with some people that there not important BUT When people say skyrim was a good game I wanna laugh. That game is good. Nothing more. The glitches in that game happen more than my mom yells at me *which is alot* I played it all the way through but sometimes i even got stuck in doors. -_- And had to restart from my last save. FF and Skyrim and mass effect can never be compared. They are TOTALLY different games, completely.

  • @nfoster37 For you to even compare Skyrim, a western RPG to Final Fantasy XIII-2, an Eastern RPG, is pretty retarded on it's own merits, if you knew that Skyrim's glitches sometimes work in the game's favor you'd see that 90% of the fanbase welcomes them. Needless to say it was an amazing game, So your paragraph was a waste of time. :b

Can't wait for XIII-2 though~ Loved XIII, This one might actually be better~

  • @Seisokujin Dude if you read my comment again I clearly said "FF and skyrim and mass effect can never be compared"And u call me retarded >_>

  • @Seisokujin And don't say my comment was ä waste of time"it was a waste of time in ur opinion but in my opinion, I stated what I thought was right, not what u would think is right. I could care less if it's important to YOU.

  • are there any other characters later or is it only those 2

  • @MrMoomilkman Light,Serra,Noel,Hope,Snow and you can play as sazh but you will have to buy a dlc as well

  • Its all to flashy now turn based fighting is crap, and they refuse to change it. the game needs to be more like the Witcher 2. I remember when this series didn't suck .

  • ATTENTION haters. get off the bandwagon. most of you only hate this because xiii wasn't AS good as the other ffs(and since your all so picky, i dunno how you like ANYTHING. one little detail ruins everything for you.). xiii-2 fixed ALL the things people hated about xiii. give it a chance before hating it just because alot of others do. don't lie, either. we all know that's whyyou hate.

  • ATTENTION HATERS. get off the bandwagon. most you guys only hate it because ffxiii wasn't as good as other ffs. so this one MUST suck? lolno. they made this sequel to fix ALL the things people hated about xiii. give it a chance first before hating it just cuz a lot of others do. fucktards.

  • i like the new 1 future.. but it bestter if we can ride airship n control our self to travel anywhere like 1st generation console ps1

  • this game is definitely gonna be in my stack of games lol

  • i can't i would hate it....HOW WOULD YOU GUYS FF 13-2 IS NOW IN THE FUTURE( well more like it now ) but i doo miss the styles they used to use since i've never got to play them dumb ps3 can't play ps2 games anymore

  • i havent played it yet. but im only getting it cause i love lightning . serah not that cute. wish my game came already

  • Do not trust on Famitsu's reviews.... you will regret it.

Gamespot will rate this game 8.5 ....

Its fun game though not comparable to other A-class games like skyrim, mass effect, and etc...

  • @tokinohito2012 Skyrim, mass effect and FF aren't nearly comparable. They're all different games that are really good. Though they fit the RPG genre they can't be compared.

  • I'm pretty excited for this game, but it looked like quite a few of the monsters are re-skinned from the previous game.

  • oh my god looks so good <3 :D i love the fast paced gameplay ugh i wish this was out right now only thing i dislike about this game is that noel and serah are the only playable characters. But i love them both so i can get over that more party members would of been nice though like lightening and etc.

  • @PMR16 There are parts of the game when you use Lightning, other characters as well probably but I'm not sure.

  • @RobNttBob no?? U be Lightning only in the Opening and then after thats its only Noel,Serah and Monsters. Probably sme DLC Characters and thts bout it

  • @benimo6 Yeah, but you still get to use her for a second.

  • @RobNttBob WHAAAT?!?! No u dooont?!?! When?? I want to know

  • @benimo6 There are little cinematic sequences with her.

  • This game looks great, but it also seems very confusing. By the way, any idea if there are summons in this game (i.e. Odin, Shiva, Bahamut) or if the Feral Links pretty much serves as the summons?

  • @jcdgcrh no summons in this game they say

  • @PanoTheGreek91 Summons are preety useless in the game IMHO. You can defeat those boss and monster without them. And Im proud to say that I finished the game without using them. *(except on some scenes that you are forced to use them)

  • this game sucks, now square sucks

  • its actually good. lots of improvement from XIII

  • finaly they made it more interactive then first just click over and over. now u need also to push buttons from time to time

  • I love final fantasy music.

  • I hate those Blobs.

  • 2:20 that monster can heal blood damage? oh wow ok now I'm interested, cause I heard before blood damage has your max hp stay that way

Blood Damage lowers your max hp points and they don't come back after battle

  • @VayuPurana Yes it will take your Max HP away and stay that way during the whole battle, but it will restore it fully after battle.

  • Hated XIII, but I might give this a try. I don't like that there's an option to Retry a battle, where's the challenge?

  • @AzumangaFan13 If your caught in a disadvantage then sometimes the retry option will be blocked along with other debuffs.

  • @Keenunu I can imagine doing a Retry for a Boss battle, but why have a Retry option for a normal battle? :/

  • Comment removed

  • @Keenunu Ah, I see. I didn't play much of XIII because (my opinion) it just didn't "deliver" compared to the retro titles, so I dropped it, thanks for the info on that. A Retry option, that does sound like a tiny thing to get used to. Although I dreaded the times that I didn't save after grinding, I took that as a part of an RPG experience. lol This one actually looks like a full package in terms of adventuring and content, I might give this one a go. Thank you, again.

  • @AzumangaFan13 Hey no problem man, happy to help. Square Enix did listen to the fans for XIII-2 so I think you will be pleased. ^_^

  • @Keenunu I'm really happy that there are actual towns and open-ended places to visit compared to walking down a hallway for 20 some-odd hours. lol Granted, FFX was much like that, but it was more FF-like, so it wasn't as painful as XIII was. Although, I have to say that this battle system is going to take me a while to get used to...so much shit happening at once.

  • @AzumangaFan13 That is true, but it did go with the story since they are L'cie and on the run they wouldn't have enough time to stop for to long. We say how that worked out for Vanille and Sazh lol. XIII was more story driven so I can see some others not liking that.

Don't worry too much about the battle system. It may feel overwhelming at first( it did for me in XIII at first), but after a few hours in you'll start to get use to everything going on and then it will feel second nature to you.

  • Comment removed

  • Looks excellent, as always.

  • Looks great, but why did they have to make Sera, easily the lamest and least interesting character from the first game, the protagonist?

  • @BananaCake26 To be fair, XIII never delved into Serah's character all that much. She was seen in flashbacks only, so naturally she didn't shine as much as the others. In XIII-2, now that she's now a proper character, we'll get to see more of what she's about. You could be surprised.

  • @mujuma You're just adding fuel to the hate-fire by quoting FAMITSU (Which is pretty not credible when it comes to reviews). That doesn't mean that I'm woth the group that thinks XIII-2 will suck, though.

  • @zaxckee true but other reviews such as IGN, and gamespot gave it a really high score :|

  • They jazzed up the whole interface!!! I love it!

  • did square enix help them on making this game too?? cause i know 100% that they help ff on all the battle mode on ff13 versus... which i hope come out around 2013

  • @haterz811 this is a square enix game

  • @Pokemonboy245 o sry i meant the kingdom heart company

  • Am I the only one who didn't get the diffrences after watching the two trailers?

  • @Alandriin ur the only one >_>

  • sweeet you can get the dragon styled monsters too

  • 1:01 HOLY SHIT FLANITORS!!! Auto 10/10.

  • Hahahah you haters will suck really hard when you discover that FFXIII-2 got a 95+ score from ign, gamespot, machinima hahahahahaha.

  • @TheFinal360 as they say

    Haters gonna hate.

  • @TheFinal360 IGN? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @TheFinal360 and yet i think the battlesystem will be great as before but the story will suck as same as the "open world"

  • @TheFinal360 You're forgetting that nobody gives a shit about IGN or Gamespot's reviews (ESPECIALLY not IGN). Machinima.... Maaaaaybe.

  • @takeyb0y2 Not Machinima either. :b

  • @takeyb0y2 ALSO. it got a prefect score from famitsu. and an S rank from Dengeki. t(-w-t)

  • @takeyb0y2 so it seems everyone likes it except people like you. wannabe "fans" who jump on the bandwagon of hate. just sayin.

  • @minininja820 Why would someone be a "wannabe fan"? Being a fan isn't something difficult, nor does it really accomplish anything or make you a better person.
