Harmonica Lesson on bends & Info on full length instruction

does the quality of the harmonica matter if you want to bend notes? I have a cheapie, a hohner silver star and I just annot bend any holes other then hole number 1.

i have a similar question about bends. i can bend down. but is it possible to bend UP? i hear a lot of music with harmonica where it seems like notes are bending up! but when i try and do it, i just cant see how its done. please help with this if you can!

Could you do a lesson on how to get that 3-4 draw RIGHT, you know bending it and stuff? cause if i could name one of my weaknesses that would be the larger, i mean, everyone can wail on those notes, i can, i do, but, you know, using it when you are moving true a riff, or bending it, man that sounds awesome, anyway thanks man! great lesson!

Yes, it is definitely possible to bend with tongue blocking all over the harp. The feeling is more in the throat.

Ronnie, You hit homebase for me when you started refering to music as colors. Somehow I lost sight of this, or never really had in focus while trying to train myself in other area's. Play the guitar too, so go figure.

I've just posted a comment on one of your other videos, but it's more appropriate here. Basically, could you give any tips on blow bending the top notes. I've killed a few harps already, and am now blowing more gently, but still cannot gain any control. Ps, this exercise is really useful for my everyday practice routine!

hi im not too sure if im bending but it sounds like vibrato when i do it fast also when i try to bend i dunno i bend my tongue so it touches ceiling of my mouth is that right

NO NO NO!!!, Dude look, assume the student knows NOTHING! Go step by step, slow and exact. Ur blowing through the exercise as if people know what the hell ur talking about.THEY DON'T !!

Great teachers give LESS info and expect the shit done RIGHT! Explain it VERY carefully and STEP by STEP!
