Actually the Greeks had figured out the earth was spherical, and some even did calculaions based on shadows to determine the size of the earth.
So most intelligent people figured out that the earth was ot flat on the basis of simple things, such as the fact that you can actually see the curvature of the earth when out at sea.

IQ is not just the "mental capacity for reason and logic" IQ is a measurement of intelligence. Intelligence covers many things, like problem solving, reason, planning, understanding complex ideas, the speed that you learn at, etc etc. So IQ is a huge thing, probably the most important attribute we have. Also, the religous can not be smarter than a real athiest, that is impossible, if they could be, they wouldn't belive in something that is obviously not true.
I agree fully, although conclusions are often hard to escape from, I think one thing you should cover is how people string to assertions.

there is way too much information out there, alot of contradicting, things that make no sence, and things that make perfect sence alltho isnt true, there is no way for someone to know the complete truth, with so many people trying to do so there will be even more misleading and contradicting information, i always try to think out the box and look at things differently from the mainstream view of the world, because thats the world which is confortable to us, tht doesnt mean its right

@sinprelic ofcourse all of the brain cels and neurons fire in our brains, but its the 10% potential of this brain that we actually can use, there is SO much potential in the human body and brain that we simply are unable to or forgotten how to use, this is a very deep subject which has alot to do with spirituality, i believe that one day we will be able to use that full potential, unless we screw ourselves over and the human race dies out before tht :)

The thing that I don't get is that for me religion is more about the teachings because we can argue about weather god is real or not forever but the teaching behind most religions are a grate way to grow up, bring up kids and a way in Which you or your family can live happily. The point that i'm trying to get across is that at the core of most religions there is a group of teaching that will help you live life happily even if you don't believe in god.

Someone with high IQ doesn´t mean he is more intelligent than other people with lower IQ, it just gives the capacity and facility to absorb more information in less time than others. At the end its each persons will and attitude towards their studies that will make a difference in their intelligence.
