  • Is someone really questioning that Conor is a drug addict? Have you ever listened to any of his songs? Have you ever seen him live? Have you ever read an interview with him? I don't know if he's still sober now, but he will forever be a drug addict.

  • They sound heavier loud.

    Good stuff.

  • i don't understand how such a studio sounding song sounds just as good live.

  • I really like this song, but this version is kind of weird.

The keyboard sound is too low

  • this is a very good version.

  • The live version is kind of weird.

    I'm a bit disapointed.

  • one of my favorite songs by him... but to all you people sayin shit about lyrics.... when you get to the point he was at as a musician and still is you have hundreds of songs out and thousands more in notebooks somewhere so its very hard t keep lyrics in the right song. so yea he does it to fuck with people singing along but its also cause singing every word exactly how it is in the studio version would not only be extremely hard but it would take the fun outa live performances and outa music

  • I actually like the melody of the trumpet solo's

  • wow i love him. best song out of the album

  • I never thought I'd see a live version of this song, awesome!

  • i was thinking the same thing as I searched for it.

  • i love this song, but the trumpet in this live version kinda ruins it.

  • my god, i'm in love with this song.

  • i wish fabchannel was still working.

  • let's fucking petition

  • i figured the elliot smith reference in this song pretty common sense if yu now the music

  • Great song, but this sounds awful

  • herramn, you have the best videos

  • Comment removed

  • so good. makes me wish I was an angsty high schooler again. actually, never really was...

  • probably the best video ever. fact.

  • its about neely jenkins and elliott smith, also

  • song still means so much to me. love it so much

  • he refers to neely jenkins at the beginning right?

like her teaching..and him being behind a drum set (park ave.) and they like dated for a while?

    sounds about right.

    either way, amazing live.

  • Yeah she was a primary school/ elementary teacher too for a bit

  • this song's lyrics are just incredible, "he stuck a needle in his arm to calm his handsome hell" i could go on and on

  • theres a strong argument he's referring

to elliott smith in those lines

  • he could be refering to a lot of people

  • this amazing

  • you guys that are saying he 'messed up' the lyrics to his own song are stupid.

he purposefully changes the lyrics to his song a lot when he sings them live, partly because he wants toidk maybe the meaning changes to him or he just gets sick of the old lyrics, partly cause he hates people singing along.

and if he does actually mess up and forget what he meant to say, who cares? you try getting up there in front of all those people and performing and not messing up once

  • he's infamously known for changing the words to songs while performing live. every song ive ever seen him perform live, somewhere in a song, he used different words. and i know drug/alcohol addiction is no joke, but if he wasnt the way he was with his vices and everything else, he probly wouldnt be so intense and wonderful. HerrAmn knows what i mean..

  • he probably forgot the words, musicians tend to do that

  • @oliverhart77 are u saying conor oberst is a drug addict? if so...explain

  • @mancheromanchero If you really can't pick out all the references to drugs in his music, you shouldn't even be listening to him, because they're blatant. "A Line Allows Progress, A Circle Does Not"? Hello? He's an alcoholic and a coke addict, among other things,

  • only human

  • she grew, became a woman now.

  • i think that she teaches at

  • one of the schools downtown. ^.^

  • ... we used to roll the windows down

  • and play the music loud

  • and play the music loud

  • thanks a lot for this!!

  • lol does he go

"and we get drunk and twist"

    ?

or is it just me thinking that?

  • Yup, thats what he says.

  • it' s actually we get drunk and kiss...silly

  • haha sorry must of heard it wrong

i was like "thats not the lyrics"

    :)

  • don't be sorry...he does say twist; just not right there! :]

  • and we'd get drunk and kiss our bodies twist like shoelaces.

  • actually I think he does say twist twice in that line in this live performance. I don't know about the studio recording though, I don't have it.

  • I did mean in this recording

haha! I should make more sence

In the actuall recording of it he does say drunk and kiss, I believe :)

  • hhha. OOps! Don't I feel like a know it all jerk now? HAHHA...I was definitely speaking of the studio recording! Oopsie-doodle.

  • great song.

  • Cheers!

  • great²
