@frosted1030 Ethanol damages the insides of your engine. Acetone doesn't work with gas that has ethanol in it either. It does still make your engine run smoother and clean emissions but no real mpg increase should be expected when running it with gasoline with ethanol in it.

Respond to this video... However if you run pure gas (good luck finding that) and you increase the ignition timing and richen your air fuel mixture at higher rpms and use about an ounce of acetone per 10 gal. Mileage will increase significantly.

PET (polyethylene terephthalate): soft drink bottles

HDPE (high density polyethylene): milk bottles, toys

PVC (polyvinyl chloride): food wrap

PP (polypropylene): margarine, yogurt containers

PS (polystyrene): egg cartons

since there are many types of plastic, there are different chemicals that affect them.

I use 2 and 3/4 onces of acetone per ten gallons of gas for five years now and it does work. the greatest benefit though is the emissions are greatly reduced if you really want to be green this is the way to go.

it therefore works great if your car won't pass emissions tests.

for gas mileage improvement it seems best to treat every other tank to really help fool the cars computer

you must do an oil change after the first tank, as it really cleans the valves and all the crud ends up in the oil.

...but this is definitely not a case of more being better, only an ounce to three ounces per fill up of 15 gallons of gasoline, or you will be harming your injectors seals, linings (be careful on GM cars, especially the the 1980's version of fuel injectors, for they had a shelac lining that acetone, especially paint thinner, can remove and cause the fuel injectors to leak).

Anything that burns in your engine ends up in your oil as well. And anything acidic increases the acid content of your oil, which beyond a point causes chemical wear on top of frictional wear. It will also eventually eat you engine seals. Just because something makes your car run better does not always mean that it is good for the car too.

I have recently been experimenting with gas additives. you have to understand the properties of what your putting in. acetone will NOT make you burn more gas. also if your using pure acetone only as an additive in your tank then something wrong in your head. DO YOUR RESEARCH i have been using a combo of 2.75oz of Xylol or xylene with just about 10 DROPS of acetone per 10 gallons. theres already alcohol in the gas, it will fuck up your rubber lines also, i dont think adding acetone is going to make it any worse than it already is. you should replace all fuel lines with hard lines anyways - theyre safer and you dont have to worry about your fuel filter getting clogged. i have hardlines from gas tank to all 3 of my carburetors :)

Your body produces small amounts of acetone breaking down fats. Acetone is made from benzine and benzine comes from crude oil - so it's a synthesized and highly refined product of oil. If you use it, use canned acetone not nail polish remover due to the fragrances, colors, oils, etc and watch as there are non-acetone removers if you do use nail polish remover. Injectors have synthetic seals, they have to already resist some acetone and xylene that is already in the gas as octane boosters.

But for it to work effectively in the context in which it is presented here very small amounts are used. I guess the best way to put it is this way. There are people who preach that aspirin is bad for you because it is a chemical. There are people that preach that aspirin is good for you because it is a chemical. I've been putting 4.5 ounces of accetone in my 2005 F150 when I bought it new. I get 18 miles per gallon city. I do not do any highway miles so I really don't know what that would come out to. All I know is that I have not had any problems with my truck - also my tail pipe is very clean, no black deposits. I woild highly recommed it. Home depot sells a gallon for $14.00 - it last me 5 months. Try it before oy nock it.
