This show's in trouble, and it did it to itself. Ricci's character turning out to have faked her college credits, and not actually being multilingual was a big letdown. The show really started losing ratings with Margot's character kissing a black guy in a too PC episode. 1963 was 49 years ago. It's safe to say multiculturalism is a big failure.
Luv this Drama series! can a cast of women not be canceled this time!! Canceling Eastwick is still a sore spot for me and D.Housewives is ending this year.
Who made that, silly comment, "Margo and Francine sit like ladies". Its the main reason why SOME wont ever allow, girls or women to just be whatever/whomever they please. I believe its involuntary rolecasting regardless of the era we live in. Men cross legs, cross, ankles, etc..,
OMG! I'm from Quebec! I saw Karine grow up and now she's a star and everibody know her! :D YEAH! GO KARINE! I'm proud of her! Always beleive in your dream guys!
@HelenaSalvator Yeah! That's my feeling with Margot Robbie! I saw her career when she first started out acting on a famous soap opera we have here called, Neighbours. She started on the show in 2007 and finished up in 2010.
Now she's in a US series! It's great to see her career progression! Way to go Maggot! :)
Gadhafi was given a choice before he died between getting sodomized with a stick or watching an episode of Pan-Am. Gadhafi was reported to have said, "I'll get the stick!"
Come on!! why do french canadian have to be so touchy!! i'm a french canadian by the way, stop beeing so defensive and read the comments!! people only say that Karine doesn't have a french accent BECAUSE of her back story!!! she's suppose to be born and raise in France!! but her accent is very very Quebec... it doesn't fit with the character!! that's it!! nobody said anything bad about beeing canadian or from quebec...relax!!
@MsKylie93 It makes you proud?! why?? are you a better person because SHE's on tv?? do you know how many talented canadian actors are on tv right now?? a lot more talented than her let me assure you!!
@bluebloodsapphire Personally, I'm quite satisfied with retaining my homosexuality, thank you very much, but I know what you mean; Colette MAKES the show. Her presence on the show is just brilliant. Makes me want to take a french course.
@GregWn For that matter, her "sister" Kate (far left; I could only tell because she was referred by name by another) doesn't look like the Kate from Pan Am either. They both look much better and more exotic on the show.
Just saw the episode where they all go to Berlin and try to meet up with JFK. Karine's performance was the one that stood out for me the most... combined with her character's backstory, and the fact she (Colette) had to sing the national anthem of a country that took over her's... and killed her parents... dude, holding back her emotions while singing, but just barely, and her being sick in the stomach from the thought of it all... that was solid.
@PoncyTank Non je sais! Mais dans la série, elle est supposée etre une Francaise. J'disais juste que, elle a pas l'accent d'une Francaise. J'sais ben qu'elle est Québécoise :P
They look so much better on the show....maybe its the make-up, but the white women of the 60's were hot! I recognize Maggie and Colette here, but where are Laura and Kate? Laura is definitely not there; if she is then whoever does her makeup should work for the CIA in its witness protection plan! lol
@alain0323 she is not completely French.she has aboriginal roots and it shows.she is not the usual white girl this is what helped her get the part.Speaking both languages fluently doesn't mean you speak it with the right accent.I speak english too and I guarantee you that I sound very much like Frenchy I just can't hide it.even Kristin scott thomas still sound anglo after 35 years in France. Her French is upper class but still anglo sounding its cute but still very english.
@alain0323 "is VERY FRENCH" never say that again! I'm french canadian 2 and our main origins are irish, amerindian and of course french. I went in france last summer and french people are sooooooo different from us! (believe me)
Christina Ricci is known for her versatility as an actress. A TV show gives her more exposure, true. But she could also just be exploring in her craft as she has most of her career.
@kr192101 I think it may be because her career has slowed down in the past couple years and because of these newer actresses and people exploding on the scene the actors with longevity in their careers seem to be going less noticed
Is Annabelle Married ? She is Lovely.I saw the First Episode of Pan Am a few nights ago. Her Scenes on the gangway of the old Propeller Airliner were just Beautiful. i Open car doors too.... I'm, Tall ,Americanised British and a Gentleman. I'm Nice too.

@LuluMT1974 what the fuck? How dare you say that. She is the girl of my dreams. I lover her soooooo freaking much! I want to make sweet love to her by the fire.
I, for one, as a former Pan Am brat. I am very disappointed. The real airline and the people were the class of the airline. Early cancellation. Sorry to say.
I was looking forward to this show but did not reach my expectations. The show is called PAN AM I don't care who is sleeping with who focus on the airline operations not the personal life of 3 flight attendants.
@Clipper1094 Yes, exactly. I thought it was going to be a trip down memory lane focusing on the "golden age" of airline travel, instead this seems to be a soap opera.
@Rosannasfriend This show is some real feminist trash. The wedding scene was the worst of the misandry, but it was not the only clue. I told my wife exactly how this offended me. Sure, I wont be getting any tonight, but in the long run she will know im not a pushover. Any woman would do the same if this show was in reverse. :p
I was looking forward to seeing this show, but from this first glimpse it seems to me that Hollywood is up to its old tricks.
They're starting this series by glorifying abandoning your responsibilities by ditching your would-be husband right before the wedding. Way to go, Hollywood. Just what we needed: more young women thinking it's cool to be a douche.
@ejdf870 well, it seemed to be a wedding she was being pressured into. She apparently had never made much of her own decisions her own life. Is it right to leave before your wedding? No, but its a lot better than going through with the wedding and then divorcing.
The actors are speaking with their natural voices in this panel interview, so of course Karine Vanasse isn't speaking with a French accent, but rather with a Quebec accent. Same for Margot Robbie, speaking here with her Australian accent.
lol! the Quebecker accent is a French accent. We French, belgians and swiss Franco we generally sound the same in english. Karine has the accent that I had when I was busy learning to speak english with an american accent. her vocal tempo is definetely franco.Ole girl just isn't bilingual. She very sexy ,I can tell she has native aboriginal ancestry.
lol! duh of course she looks exotic. you think she would have gotten the part if she looked like Celine Dion ? Celine speaks both english and French perfectly in her sleep. This broad can'ty. but she's cute.
really ? hollywood doesn't use that rule when it comes to women who are not anglo saxon.Generally in most movies the asian character is eurasian , the black character is half black half white . the all american is blond and slim. There is a version of each one of those in the 60s. You don't know jack. You'be suprised to know the background of those socalled Asians or blacks you see on TV.
@cannoir Your argument in nonsensical. Talking apples and oranges. Pan AM could have selected a beautiful French women without exotic features. In fact, when you get right down to it, Colette's features are not all that exotic contrasted with what the producers could have selected. I hate posters like you who slam others. Fuck off.
if that broad looked no different than the other anglo girl what would be the point of having her on the show.Being Canadian is an excuse for her exoticness.I live in the countryside and I've studied in a big city . I don't see full blooded French girls look like Karine. She has that frail asian candy look. They even got the name wrong for the time period.most girl in their 20s were Francine, Mireille,Isabelle. Most Colettes were in their 40s in the 60s.I should know my granny's name is Colette.
@cannoir Is she Canadian in the show? I assumed she was French with her knowledge of the language when they went to Paris. When I think exotic French I think of women like Julia Channel and Tabatha Cash. Google their image and let me know what you think.
@GregWn hot damn of course I remember the sexy Tabatha and Julia from waaay back then in the mid 90s when I was a teenager.Your age is showing too lol!.I haven't heard of them in a minute.I do know Julia starred in Joey Starr's videos ( hip hop).Julia's still looking good but then she is only 36.those are some good memories those chicks along with the movie "la haine" totally remind me of my difficut teenage years in a fond way.
@doetim Tha'ts an interesting question. What is pure French or pure white for that matter? Our Italians pure white? Are the Kardashians pure white? How about the exotic women of the Ukraine? How about Jews and Palistanians? Are just the native culture of Northern Europe pure white?
@GregWn Not in the show, and not in this interview, does she have even an HINT of a french accent from France. She has the typical accent of a Québécoise speaking english. She's a great actress.
@titefred2 Toi t'as rien compris. D'ou "Karine Vanasse a pa l'accent d'une Francaise". Tu comprends maintenant? L'accent québécois et l'accent francais, pour les producteurs, c'était la meme chose. Pour tout les Quebecois qui regarde, c'est TRES différent.
