@aceshot100 Ace try cleaning out your carb I have an 03 CR250 also sometimes a lil crap gets in the idle circuit of the card a quick shot with some carb cleaner and youll be good to go!
@metalmanguitarist21 what a joke. 125's are NOTHING compared to a 250. they are a whole different animal. i say that because i oqn a 2007 yz125. before i bought it i drove a 2003 rm250 and i almost flew off the seat. im selling my yz now im getting a cr250
@chevynarramore did u honestly just ask if its stock? u couldnt see the big chrome pipe on the side, and how many people do u know that have a sponserd out decel kit witha stock biike? think a bit.
ohh. your talking about going from neutral to first... not first to neutral... sorry. yes it will jump a little bit. but you can still adjust the clutch lever a little and fix that.
it could just be worn springs or your clutch cable isnt tight enough or you have groves on your clutch basket, or worst case scenario your plates are sticking when the bike is warmed does it still lundge forward with mine it did the same thing i changed out the tranny oil and let it warm up and stoped it for the most part
CLEARLY you know nothing about dirtbikes... that "ticking" is due to the bike being a 2-stroke and EVERY rear wheel on ANY dirtbike will spin like that when it is off the ground and you rev it
I would say you should set the idle a little bit higher, or check your jetting. It might be set for a different climate or something. Where did the person who had the bike before you ride? Nevertheless all are in the carb area. Also 2 strokes do have a distinct smell. Some love it and some hate it. I happen to love the smell of a 2 stroke. Its just from the oil mixture in the fuel.
canadier2007: im sorry but im having trouble understanding you. you want to know how to adjust the idle? on the neck of your carbuerator there is a screw, when turned clockwise will make your idle go up.
we figured it out jet but the main problem was that the motor oil combined with the gas in the engine some way(broken) and that why it smellet shitty and didnt idle
my dad rebuilded his eingine by hand and jeah it works fine now and it even smells good^^ thx for ur help
U know man ive always loved 2 strokes, probably the smell and sound. I know more maintnence, but something about a 2 stroke ya gotta love. Ill probably get a 4 stroke one day but i plan on keeping this bike as well.
2 strokes always smoke

I have the same bike, and I'm just wondering:
When you shift into first from neutral, even with the clutch all the way in, does your bike lurch forward just a tad bit?
It's my first dirt bike, so I'm just wondering.
Thanks
FCustureri 2 years ago
no....
lilcane88 2 years ago
It doesn't jump just a little bit at all? What could it be then?
FCustureri 2 years ago
try adjusting your clutch lever. if not its probably the clutch plates.. can pick em up on motosport or at the local shop.
lilcane88 2 years ago
I found an example of what it is doing.
In this video(take out the space):
w atch?v=fVY6hW3mX_g
Watch his rear wheel when he shifts from neutral into first, right before he takes off. That's exactly what my bike does too.
FCustureri 2 years ago
ohh. your talking about going from neutral to first... not first to neutral... sorry. yes it will jump a little bit. but you can still adjust the clutch lever a little and fix that.

my jumps a little i have a 2001 cr 250 and when i shift into first it just jumps and little but dosent lerch forward

You should check your clutch, that ticking doesnt sound healthy and the wheel shouldnt be spinning that fast in neutral

p.s. u shouldnt leave it idleing for too long....the motor starts to over-fuel and u kill your plug.
marek0086 3 years ago
its funny you wrote that because that might be the longest its ever idled.... at least since ive had it.
