@sommuk Salil was a Bengali also. Most his music reflected it so did S.D. Burman's.

Well, you are correct! Salilda got 'inspired' by Robithakur. Excellent observation! Salilda leaves his mark with his unique style of orchestration though.

It is unfortunate , Hindhi version was not super hit, its Telugu version "Aaraadhana" with Akkineni Nageswararo ( Dada Falke awaardee) & Savithri was a super super hit - Arani .Apparao -Hyderbad

One of Bimal Roy's lesser known works,I saw the movie the other day,a simple tale,told beautifully.One of the few Sadhana movies where she isn't sporting her characteristic fringe-the "Sadhana-cut",and is without her trademark adaa,but dilkash all the same.Also an awesome display of what Bimal Roy was best at-the use of light and shade to weave cinematographic magic

Its undoubtedly one of the best romantic duets of himdi film music over six decades .Especially paragraphs og this song have bees set to tune so beautifully by salil chowdhary ji . Simple speechless
