@mickieftw I don't know any of this 100%, but I think: the Marines are the first to go in to war (the "tip of the spear").

The army goes in along with the other branches, and I believe they are the ones responsible for keeping the peace after the war is over.

The Navy is ocean-based and the "Navy SEALs" are a part of it.
