No, they're nothing more than activists. Some of them could even be straight. If my government was going to deny me equal rights after giving them to me, you betchya I'd put up a fight. You clearly also mention a paradox: Mormon churches do not tolerate gays, and the inverse is true as well.
I know many mormons who do tolerate gays. Also, mormons do not accost gays going into gay bars, nor are there incidences where mormons have painted grafiti on gay bars. So, why is this only acceptable on the part of the gays? Also, as I'm sure any gay person would agree, even one incident is too many.
It's a culture war. This is what it is. Look at the Stonewall Riots of '69, or how judges in some states in the 80s ruled that gays could not teach in public schools. Culture wars allow for no compromise, and money isn't the issue, it's ideology. And our society has consistently trended to a more tolerant ideology (Without that type of progress, you wouldn't have the right to vote, yet I would.) Marriage can be defined by religions, but religion's definition cannot be used by the state.

Did the government ever force interracial couples to marry? Not exactly. A marriage license issued by the state has no relation to a religious marriage. The two are completely secular, and same-sex marriage will never change that. (Take, for example, Massachusetts or Connecticut. The laws in place do not impact religious marriages whatsoever). It is completely up to the church. E.g., even though some states won't allow SSM, churches will recognize the union even though the state won't.
Right now the Gov't refuses to recognise same sex marriages performed by those churches that believe it is proper, so they are already interfereing in religion

There are tons of faithful LGBT people and straight people. On the flip side, there are many unfaithful LGBT/straight people. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with if you're faithful or not, that comes down to the individual. You say many of us live alone. Well what about all of those single straight people? Good comment. However, these incidents are by far an isolated occurrence and are by no means widespread. Secondly, the actions are by Gay Activists-- do gay activists represent the LGBT community? No, they're nothing more than activists. Some of them could even be straight. If my government was going to deny me equal rights after giving them to me, you betchya I'd put up a fight. You clearly also mention a paradox: Mormon churches do not tolerate gays, and the inverse is true as well.

I know many mormons who do tolerate gays. Also, mormons do not accost gays going into gay bars, nor are there incidences where mormons have painted grafiti on gay bars. It's a culture war. This is what it is. Look at the Stonewall Riots of '69, or how judges in some states in the 80s ruled that gays could not teach in public schools. Culture wars allow for no compromise, and money isn't the issue, it's ideology. And our society has consistently trended to a more tolerant ideology (Without that type of progress, you wouldn't have the right to vote, yet I would.) Marriage can be defined by religions, but religion's definition cannot be used by the state.

Did the government ever force interracial couples to marry? Not exactly. A marriage license issued by the state has no relation to a religious marriage. The two are completely secular, and same-sex marriage will never change that. (Take, for example, Massachusetts or Connecticut. The laws in place do not impact religious marriages whatsoever). It is completely up to the church. E.g., even though some states won't allow SSM, churches will recognize the union even though the state won't.

There are tons of faithful LGBT people and straight people. On the flip side, there are many unfaithful LGBT/straight people. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with if you're faithful or not, that comes down to the individual. You say many of us live alone. Well what about all of those single straight people? Everything you mentioned could apply to any person, not only a gay or lesbian. It's not like I woke up one day and said, "I'm going to be straight today", or "I'm going to be gay today".

If you are referring to the rights that marriage offers your right I want them all. I want to be by my boyfriends side if he is dying in a hospital I want to be able to will him my house. I want to to take a child out of harms way by possibly adopting, I want to be able to share my health insurance with the person I love. The Feds need to have Civil Unions legalized for everyone, giving all those who choose to enter a civil union with each other ALL the rights a marriage would.
