Im very agree with you!! I was selected yesterday and I think I am selected in the wrong house.... Im in Hufflepuff... I have nothing against them instead! they are very loyal and friendly but I'm not one of them. I feel that I am a Slytherin I have the green and silver in the soul I am ambitious selfish and cunning I love the 4 houses but I know myself and how I am and I am definitely not Hufflepuff and not a gryffindor maybe Ravenclaw cause I worry a lot about my grades and I have high marks

It seems the Sorting Hat is either dead on or not. Jo did a great job with the quiz, but it can't sort everyone correctly. People have traits of different houses; but it's our choices and what we consider important that really define us.
I was sorted into Ravenclaw. I believe Ravenclaw is more than just intelligence and wit. It's a love of learning and creativity more than being good at things. Ravenclaws are proud and helpful, they're not afraid of expressing themselves.
I agree with your assessment about how the traits you value should take priority of the traits you exhibit. Having said that, it's damn near impossible for a 7-question internet quiz - divine intervention from Rowling herself aside - to determine what you value.
I'm still waiting for my email. According to every fan quiz out there, I'm either a Gryff or a Puff. But I'll have to wait on pins and needles to see what Pottermore thinks.
I liked the questions that Pottermore asked. Some of them were revealing about one's character. I'm not sure which questions you got, but I got one along the lines of "You're walking down an alley alone at night and you hear a strange noise. What do you do?" and there were about 7 options. I have also heard people say that your house is slightly predetermined based off of your wand. I'm not sure, but I got a dragon core and was put into Slytherin (the house I wanted). But it's all in good fun!
@twixiechick I kinda wish there was a little explanation on what our answers meant. Some of the questions I could see how the related to certain house qualities but others were very odd.I was asked if I would choose white or black pieces when playing chess. I'm not sure what that says about my character. I liked the wand questions better but then again I wasn't feeling as much pressure when answering those. I was nervous for the sorting.
@KaylaCakes87 Maybe since white goes first in chess, if you chose white it would say you're not afraid to take the first move and if you chose black that you like to wait and see what happens first? I'm just guessing, but there has to be a good reason, right?
@KaylaCakes87 White play in chess means aggressive, offensive also you'd like to be in the lead. Black is defensive. That is why you have to answer honestly when questions are asked. I had a question 'head or tail?' I picked head because that is what you see, I'd like people to show themselves on the head, tails are kinda swishy, secretive and in some cases... poisonous. Heads can be too but it is obvious to see.

@dixonpatr I'm sure I have qualities that could be applied to every house. I'm not saying that Ravenclaws can't be hardworking or loyal. But those are typical Hufflepuff qualities. I considered Ravenclaw when I picked my house several years ago but deep down I know I'm a Hufflepuff.

I like how you didn't boast in this video about getting in, like some people do without realising it. @KaylaCakes87 Thank you, I think quite a few people forget that there still aren't people online, but from what I've seen, their servers seem to be getting better too, 'cause now when I go on, it doesn't mostly have the refreshing page on. Did you get that "Congratualtions" email too, I found it VERY frustrating =)

The website has let in a lot more people since I first got in (There are about 136. 000 now) It still has some issues with some of the pages every now and then but I think that's probably normal so early on.
I heard that she made up 200 questions to which seven are randomly picked for any given person. I wouldn't mind taking the 200 question quiz...just sayin. I thought I would be Gryffindor or Hufflepuff and ended up in Ravenclaw too! I took the quiz in my Gryffindor robes and it was painful to look at them after.

I'm the opposite as you - hardcore ravenclaw who was sorted into Hufflepuff :( But I've always felt the same as you, even before I took the test. It took me years before I decided I belonged in ravenclaw, because it was important to me to be 100% sure. And I have taken really in-depth, complex quizes over 120 questions in length (!!) that place me in Ravenclaw. I NEVER cheat. And yet... just because JK made this quiz, Im suddenly supposed to accept I'm "truly" a Hufflepuff..? no thanks!

@libbyrox12 Thanks! The numbers change everyday as new students are allowed in however they stay pretty consistent as far as rankings. Hufflepuff is last in number of students and points. Slytherin has the most points. Ravenclaw has about 1500 more students than all the other houses. However the other houses are usually within 60 students of each other. I hope you get your email soon!
So I heard that you get to retake the sorting quiz in October (I, myself, am DESPERATE to get into Ravenclaw). If you do, do you have to make a new account or will they just let you retake it even if you've already been sorted? I haven't gotten my email yet ( :( ), but my name is HowlFloo132. :)
@LiveLoveLaughHP Once you've been sorted you don't get another try unless you make a new account. But even if you make a new account I'm not sure that you can guarantee the results. The questions are pretty profound. They do not have obvious answers for each house.
My sister (a Hufflepuff) and I (a Ravenclaw) were both sorted into Gryffindor. We took the quiz together and it popped up on screens at the exact same time (unplanned) and we both murmured "What..." and pretty much had a similar to yours. Then she accidentally played the Alex Carpenter video and this distressed us even more. But your video has helped to ease some of my pain, I have wanted to be in Ravenclaw since I was 9 or 10. But I think I'll want to retake the test in October. ;)

Thinking back I can see where some of my answers could have been seen as typical Ravenclaw responses but I still think 7 questions is not enough to really know someone's personality. @Zidriz If I wanted to do that I'd have to wait until October. Plus the questions are very different from the online sorting quizes most of us have taken. Each question didn't have 4 answers that were obvious to each house. I answered the questions honestly.
@Zidriz Pottermore is a website created by JK Rowling. It allows the user to travel through the Harry Potter books and virtually experience some of Harry Potter's world. Hidden through out are some never before released information about characters, objects, etc. It is difficult to explain because it really is different from any other website I've been on. It is truly magical and well worth the wait!
I can't wait to get my email, but I am probably not going to get mine until the end of August or beginning of September. I didn't get in to Pottermore until Day 3. Hufflepuff's UNITE!! :)

I decided to just wait until they worked out all the bugs first so I'm planning on joining Pottermore when it comes out. Fingers crossed for Hufflepuff!
Anyway, I just have one question. I know that Pottermore is supposed to be a free website. My brother played a game on the internet that it was free to play too, but there were a couple of things that weren't necessary, but he had to actually pay for it.
Besides the audio and the ebooks is there anything that you would have to pay for?

I like how you didn't boast in this video about getting in, like some people do without realising it. And the fact that you were optimistic and didn't let your getting sorted into the wrong house get in your way. Also, I'm glad you said something for the people who haven't gotten in, and made them feel better about that fact. I'm hoping for Ravenclaw, but I'm not particularly that bothered. @KaylaCakes87 Thank you, I think quite a few people forget that there still aren't people online, but from what I've seen, their servers seem to be getting better too, 'cause now when I go on, it doesn't mostly have the refreshing page on. Did you get that "Congratualtions" email too, I found it VERY frustrating =)

@TaylorSwiftFan7777 You mean that tease email saying they would let people in soon? Yeah, that was annoying! The servers are getting better. The website has let in a lot more people since I first got in (There are about 136. 000 now) It still has some issues with some of the pages every now and then but I think that's probably normal so early on.

I heard that she made up 200 questions to which seven are randomly picked for any given person. I wouldn't mind taking the 200 question quiz...just sayin. I thought I would be Gryffindor or Hufflepuff and ended up in Ravenclaw too! I took the quiz in my Gryffindor robes and it was painful to look at them after.

I'm the opposite as you - hardcore ravenclaw who was sorted into Hufflepuff :( But I've always felt the same as you, even before I took the test. It took me years before I decided I belonged in ravenclaw, because it was important to me to be 100% sure. And I have taken really in-depth, complex quizes over 120 questions in length (!!) that place me in Ravenclaw. I NEVER cheat. And yet... just because JK made this quiz, Im suddenly supposed to accept I'm "truly" a Hufflepuff..? no thanks!

@libbyrox12 Thanks! The numbers change everyday as new students are allowed in however they stay pretty consistent as far as rankings. Hufflepuff is last in number of students and points. Slytherin has the most points. Ravenclaw has about 1500 more students than all the other houses. However the other houses are usually within 60 students of each other. I hope you get your email soon!

So I heard that you get to retake the sorting quiz in October (I, myself, am DESPERATE to get into Ravenclaw). If you do, do you have to make a new account or will they just let you retake it even if you've already been sorted? I haven't gotten my email yet ( :( ), but my name is HowlFloo132. :)

@LiveLoveLaughHP Once you've been sorted you don't get another try unless you make a new account. But even if you make a new account I'm not sure that you can guarantee the results. The questions are pretty profound. They do not have obvious answers for each house.

My sister (a Hufflepuff) and I (a Ravenclaw) were both sorted into Gryffindor. We took the quiz together and it popped up on screens at the exact same time (unplanned) and we both murmured "What..." and pretty much had a similar to yours. Then she accidentally played the Alex Carpenter video and this distressed us even more. But your video has helped to ease some of my pain, I have wanted to be in Ravenclaw since I was 9 or 10. But I think I'll want to retake the test in October. ;)

Thinking back I can see where some of my answers could have been seen as typical Ravenclaw responses but I still think 7 questions is not enough to really know someone's personality. I'm sure you'll make Gryffindor proud even if you are a true Ravenclaw on the inside!

@Zidriz If I wanted to do that I'd have to wait until October. Plus the questions are very different from the online sorting quizes most of us have taken. Each question didn't have 4 answers that were obvious to each house. I answered the questions honestly.

@Zidriz Pottermore is a website created by JK Rowling. It allows the user to travel through the Harry Potter books and virtually experience some of Harry Potter's world. Hidden through out are some never before released information about characters, objects, etc. It is difficult to explain because it really is different from any other website I've been on. It is truly magical and well worth the wait!
