  • Thats not the actual speed. He didnt calibrate his speedo. My uncle had a 87 c10 383 stroker witha 700r tranny with 4.11s we were barely going 50 mph n it siad 90.

  • new gears + stock tranny = bad news

  • re-calibrate ur speedo for the gears

  • great shifting! did you do the drill mod for the master cylinder?

  • what brand did you put in? are they noisy?

  • حسن واحد شفتا يلكش

  • @bosloh2000000 Keep that shit on the Honda's bub.

  • trans am4 Over the life@Hotrodnickell

  • That tranny had 9 lives and you just killed 4 of them

  • redefining the phrase putting your foot through the radiator here.

  • Low gears rule!

  • DAYUMN.

  • How is that stock 10 bolt holding up?

  • whats top speed with the 4.30s?

  • funny how you just stomp on the gas....

  • Who the fuck cares about mpg I get 10 in my ws6 and its been my daily driver for 2 years if you care so much about mpg go buy a gay ass prius

  • @spartan17717 or a diesel ..

  • looks like your trying to put your fist truogh the dash.. lmfao

  • 4.56 gears for an m6 or nothing

  • The lady who didn't use her blinker disliked your video.

  • I get 16 city / 25 highway in my '01 Formula LS1 A4 with 4.10 gears. 3500 stall and dyno tune, that's it. 2000 rpm at 50 mph, 3000 at 80.

  • 4.30's are not too much, you could even go 4.56's. To do 70 mph is only 2100-2200 rpm's. I can still do 142 mph in 5th gear, 6th gear can accelerate. Its way easier on the clutch, grabbing gears is fun, gas mileage is so good you dont care. Stock Firehawk exhaust, car is dead quiet and zero droning. You want poor mileage, try some of our old school Big Blocks that really only 4-5 mpg.

  • @79TAKid i completly agree with a 6 speed isn't too bad for 4.10s and up

  • @79TAKid Nice vid! check out HELLBOUNDAPPAREL . COM

  • @79TAKid Just think about how fast that driveshaft is spinning all the time though - safety loop is your friend.

  • @79TAKid

So you're saying my buddies extremely worked 502 Big Block with a hairy custom cam and 4.11 gears in his 3,850 pound muscle car isn't too good in the mpg department huh? LMAO ;)

It's like that commercial from a few years back where the guy gasses up his muscle car and then smiles while he's revving it and you see the gas go from full to empty in 5 seconds LOL. I always laughed when I saw that ha ha.

  • thats pretty quick bro, not bad....i guess living with 11 mpg on highway is cool for u.

  • @petelovesmaryjane Hey Marie Jane Lover an LS1 get amazing gas milage. I have a 2005 C6 Corvette with 400hp stock and 400lbs torque and still get 19city and 28hwy. Amazing engine. Smoke one for me.

  • @glenlackey2 the motor dont, the 6th gear does

  • @glenlackey2 My 2002 C5 Z06 gets 18-20 city and 33 highway and has 147k miles on it. And yes, everything on it is factory stock, even the clutch.

  • tbh 4.30 are way to big for a daily driver and no other mods.

  • how were those 4.30's daily driving? Gas mileage, droning etc?

  • @criefus Dude...if you are worried about gas prices, don't bother with getting gears. It's certainly not economical...but that isn't the reason for the gears now, is it!?!

  • @criefus For daily driving it would not be any different really, you would just have more pull in every gear, and being such a short final gearing, you would be able to run one gear higher than stock when cruising. You could even start in second with 4.30s and it would be like starting in first with 3.42s. Gas mileage in city might be 1-4 MPG worse when accelerating, but you could shift much earlier and lose only 1-2 MPG MAYBE. On the highway you would only lose maybe 1-2 MPG when cruising.

  • i really want to know the highway mpg

  • Third gen's were the best! with the exception of their power plants...of coarse the 77-81 t/a's werent much faster.

  • dude push the clutch all the way in when you shift

  • quick car but that t56 is not going to last forever powershifting it. Ask me how i know

  • @Microbombs Breaking parts is just an excuse to upgrade.

  • @Microbombs how do you know?

  • @Microbombs how do you know?

    lol

    just fucking with you

  • @Microbombs how do you know? haha

  • Thats badass man, its insane how these cars are still such a great bargain for performance, you'd never expect that they could tear up most things on the road even 8 years later. Ive been waffling between one of these or a 79' T/A for my next car for a while now, decisions decisions...

  • @Ratmouth66 A 1979 T/A? There is no decision, get the '02, it can't be beat.

  • @Quatermain98526 Well ive got more in mind than just speed haha, in different ways they're both about equal in my eyes, the 02's are safer, more economical, and faster, the 70's are better looking, better build materials, and way rarer. The 02's are faster and better on gas but the 79's are just insanely badass cars, and my favorite car right under the 71' Hemi Cuda

  • @Ratmouth66 I think the 2002 is definitely the best looking T/A they ever produced. And a Trans Am of any year is rare enough.

  • @Ratmouth66 8 years later? The LS1 engine was produced in 1997, it's a 13 year old design, almost 14 now.

  • @Quatermain98526 i think the 98-02s look awsome no doubt but i think the 77-81 T/As look way better, but thats not to take away from the 4th gen looks cause in my oppinion the 77-81s are the best looking cars ever built, but to each their own. And i was talking about this car specificly when i meantioned the 8-years later thing, the line of 02' Firehawks was the subject of that, and actually there were a few minor differences for 02' but i hate when people get anal about details =P

  • @Ratmouth66 the only difference there is between '02 and '01 is that some cars got ls6 blocks. thats all I know about.

  • lol "use your blinker lady" ya cuz you're definately concerned about traffic laws...lol, the lady's probly like "way to use your speedo guy"

  • God I wish my '97 t/a was a manual.

  • @Reservoirdogs12 it could be....lol

  • @s10guy3388 Lol if you ever total yours by accident let me know. I see t-56 transmissions on ebay, but none of the other parts to convert my auto to use it. (Clutch pedal, master cylinder, plus a lot of stuff i don't know about/missed)

  • Comment removed

  • @Reservoirdogs12 hey man i think hawks thirdgen sells a complete 6speed conversion take a look at their website!

  • @camarotwofast ok thanks

  • @Reservoirdogs12 Are from the US

  • I miss my F body...

  • Shifting/powershifting gears is not that hard you guys.. especially if you drive the car everyday

  • bro teach me how to drive stick, yes?

  • spun in 2nd an 3rd? lol

  • Looks like a wild ride. Awsome bird.

  • now thats how you drive an fbody! nice car bro.

  • im guess the speedo wasnt recalibrated after the new gear install.....but nice anyways

  • OMG......I JUST JIZZED IN MY PANTS!!!!!!!!! Thats un godly acceleration for just a rear end gear change......

  • Very Nice gotta love the shifting

  • nice shifting, just keeping that gas to the floor haha

  • @showcrazy1 its called power shifting im surprised he didnt get a fourth gear scratch out of it lol

  • I was this close to buying a set of GM 4.30's for my 2000 SS but chickened out and wen't with a 4.11. Now it seems I could have gone 4.30's w/ no problem, so if I ever do another gear swap that will be my ratio of choice!

  • @N20LT4 why go from 4.11 to 4.30.. there is basically no difference... go 4.56 if anything

  • @sheet4u wow you obviously have no fucking clue what gear ratio is exactly lol and 4.56 gears for a 6 speed manual is practically overkill no need for it

  • @sheet4u Not your car some people just want to b unique

  • @sheet4u Depending on the powerband of the engine going from 4.10's to 4.30's could give a noticeable difference, even if it's just a tenth or so. Don't just look at it from a numbers aspect. :-)

  • @N20LT4 definatly, and actually every car/powertrain has a nice "sweet spot" you gotta figure out, sometimes going too big will bring your times down, there's a nice curve youve got to work out and find just the right gear set for you

  • is that the passenger side window whistle lol?

  • @ModMob

  • @Modmob dude your the only other 14 year old I've seen with a car lol in 14 two I have a 93 mustang LX convert but I wanted a 87 camaro I'm gonna try and trade someone after the summer

  • lol at my 13.1 at 111mph, I have 3.73's and Ls6 heads, small cam, if I could cut a better 60 foot time (2.2's...on all season tires! Ouch) I would be mid 12's with out headers right now. My headers are going on next week :) and I will use my 315 DR's next time at the track lol.

    I have a 01 Camaro SS, 6 speed

  • dude you shift way too early

  • @juskiddinfreak91 he also has 4.30 gear. it gets u up in the power range quickly, plus he could be shifting early to eliminate wheel spin

  • Sick shifts bra!

  • Dude you are shifting so rough.

  • sweet!

  • i know, my dad told me he raced a new 2011 GT and beat it by 3 lengths but i wasnt there so i dont know

  • lmao wasn't a 2011 GT those arn't out yet and they are putting out 412bhp from the factory. Ford got smart and brought back the 302 and the 2011 V6 Model is gonna have 305bhp. After getting its assed kicked last year by the Camaro ford knew they had to do somthing and thats what they did

  • i meant 2010 my bad and yeah i heard, but Camaro is also supposed to be bringing back the Z28

  • yep have you seen the body kit you can buy for the new 2010 Camaro to make it a trans am? Its like sex on wheels and man it's sweet looking. I'm looking foward to Chevy bringing back the Z28 and I wish Dodge would get smart put the challenger on a diet and make the charger a 2 door and chevy bring back the Chevelle then we are talking

  • I beat a 2011 GT on foot

  • @Vaega1 i highly doubt it. those new 5.0's can fly. ive already seen one in person get busy

  • nice shifting

  • Located in St.Louis?! thats where i live, im still 14 for now but my first car is the 2002 Z28 we got it might give u a good run we dont really a lot of mods on it its basically stock but its fast!

  • @ModMob

without gears or a cam this thing would kill you.

  • my dad wants to rebuild the whole engine and what not, but yeah probably lmao

  • haha yeah most ls1s are stock fast.. if you raced a stang with just gears you would kill it..

  • @ModMob don't listen to him, gears aren't going to make the car suddenly seconds quicker.

  • sometimes in between shifts it sounds like the whine of a supercharger

  • wat do yah think 3rd goes to... 90?

  • in regular trans ams yeah..no idea about these gears lol

  • im thinking barely 90. cause stock gearing can get yah 100-110 depending on rev limit and 4.10's pull to almost 100 with a 6700 rpm limit so. awesome gears though lol

  • haha for sure, he was gainin speed fast as hell..and you dont really need the top speed on those cars..usually ppl only race to 120.

  • yeah thats how i am. i do love long gears. cant beat the almost 60 mph in 1st hehe. but this guy was flying, at 140+ in no time lol

  • i have a 93 Z28 im 18 years old its in mint condition and i race it, i pay 774 bucks every 6 months. Good student discount, multi car discount, and steer clear discount. I think theres a few more I have too but im not sure

  • just got my 4.30's installed need to get a dry day to record it. you are the only ls1 I found with a video of 4.30's

  • That is most definately in the upper 120s+

  • the miles per hour is defiently wrong...it showed nearly 130mph

  • no its not, 1: its a FIREHAWK trans am, SLP's version of the trans am, 350 HP!! 2: the reason why he jumped so fast was because he had 4.30 GEARS!!! HE IS GEARED FOR ACCELERATION, NOT SPEED!

  • and he is also in 5th gear with it at about 5000-5500 rpms now .74 at 4500 rpms with a 25.7 diameter is between 120-130mph

  • i use to have a 1994 formula and the insures was more than the car in just one year

  • yeap.....$3000 every 6 months for me :(

  • @juan5104carlos i hear ya

i have a 2003 gt mustang and my insures is 3109'5. in two an 1/2 years i will pay just as much as what i paid for the car.

    i am only 17 thow.

  • beautiful wut engine u got da ls1??

  • yeah its ls1, all trans am/firebird/firehawk 97 thats v8 verson- is ls1.

  • how many MPH is your speedo off?

  • I planed on buying 1 but the guy was asking 16k so I went with a 1989 corvette hope I got a good deal paid 8K check it out on my acct.

  • That was fuckin sweet. hell of a car man

  • christ that car was hauling ass in no time

id love that, only with my 342s for fuel econo :S

  • I have a 96 firebird but with the body kit on it looks like a 98 is only got a v6 though because im only 16 and my insurance would be like sky high but i want a biiget motor like on from a original ws6's

  • Just to let you know.. I almost bought a v6 Mustang instead of my 5.0 because of insurance... I'm only paying $193 a month for full coverage. It's not bad at all. I have a flawless driving record, zero points, and usually get on the gas only at the track. Be responsible, and the cost isn't that bad!

  • im only paying $58 a month with my civic! lol

  • Age plays a role, and coverage level... I'm at full coverage, 19 years old now, and not piggybacking off my parent's plan. I've just redone my insurance since turning 19 - $154 a month now!

  • i have a civic si which is a little more and I only pay $58.

  • @xWOODYHAYESx i like walking;)

  • for a trans am? =0 i was wondering what my insureance would be if i tried to get one.. im 18

  • This is for a 1995 Mustang GTS. As of January 2nd when I turned 19, I'm not paying $153 a month, for full coverage. I'm not doing the 'occassional' driver trick or anything to lower it, either.

  • @travis06

Terrible, i was paying over 500 a month when i got my first one... i was 17.

  • damn not what i wanted to hear lol..ima have to wait not about to pay that much haha, maybe get a srt 4 :P shouuld be less maybe

  • @travis06

Pretty much if you get anything that can do more than 110 before your 21 or if the vehicle isnt at last 10 years old.. you going to get reamed by insurance.

  • lol damn, haha well tyvm bro for the info might have to just pay the high insureance..i love fast cars so its w/e haha :)

  • @travis06

    lol thats what i did.

  • haha gotta love cars broo

  • @exile907 When i was 18 i had an 04 GTO and my payments were only about $150 Monthly, which i though was going to be WAY higher than that but wasnt too bad really

  • were you full coverage? i was paying my rate with a driver training + good grades discount and a clean driving record...

  • @exile907 yeah full coverage. clean record and good grades discount aswell

  • lol i officaily hate allstate now.

  • @exile907 lol my brother had allstate and they screwed him over a buncha times. state farm however we have never had any problems with

  • i did a quot on one cuz im getting aT/a and it said 1700 for 6 months soo not to bad and im buying mine cash so dont need full coverage so itl be like 550 for 6

  • oh wow how old are you bro?

  • 17 and i have 2 tickets and a roll over on my record too

  • oo nicee :)

  • @travis06 My 99 Trans Am WS6 is $170 at 17 years old. My 80 Trans Am was $20 and my 95 camaro was $140.. Those are all liability too.

  • oh shit..haha those are numbers i like seeing broo

  • Is that per month? If so, I shudder to think what my insurance would be with a 99 WS6 on full coverage...

  • @Amras0407 depends on age. once u get to 25 it drops a lot

  • @Amras0407 Just ask your dad to put it in his name if he has a clean record, if not your mom and then just pay them the bills every month.

  • sweet. I have an '01 formula A4 with 4.10 gears, stock with tune. On crappy tires, making 13.55 @ 105 mph quarter mile.

  • its fun, the LS1 cant be beat, I have an 01 WS6 with 3:42's and all stock with 3:42's and 6 spd I went 13.14@107, now I have LT headers,LID,catless y-pipe still untouched engine and went 12.89@112mph with a 2.4 60ft cause I had to take off at idle, my first run was 13.80 spinning till I hit 3rd, it was bad, also I had all hardened gears and steel shift forks installed in my tranny, LS7 clutch, people said that I should be at 12.49 with drag radials, in my mind thats fast!!! drive it every day!!

  • thats pretty good drag times for everything on the engine being basically stock not to mention firebirds and trans ams are heavy .. gets some engine mods maybe a supercharger and you would probably be pulling 11s or maybe 10s

  • wish i could shift like that...

  • chirp! chirp! lol nice...

  • hell yea that was bad ass. i want a trans am

  • haha me too dude

  • Dude u can shift really good

  • nice.

    gears are a great mod

  • LOl could have used your blinker lady

  • there are a few factory freaks runnin high 12's

  • I've seen a stock '02 WS.6 run 12.7, in Oregon.

  • I call your bluff, a stock SS wont even run a 12.7 and the cars are the exact same, just a different body. Nice try though

  • I saw it in person, sorry bud. Also saw a '06 GTO run 12.7.

  • Not in the 1/4, after that the LS2 GTO will pull because of more hp., it's common sense dude. And it's not "way" faster, they're both Pontiacs except the T/A looks "way" better, so stop hating. I like them both but would hands down take a WS.6 or Firehawk over a GTO anyday.

  • ROFL! LS1 for LS1 an F-Body would waste a GTO

now LS2 for LS1 would be a BETTER race.

    LS2's would pull because they're 6.0s over 5.7's

  • 'zackbranch'... I forgot to mention that stock for stock the WS.6 is a couple of cunt hairs faster than the SS in the 1/4 because of the better ram air induction on the T/A.

  • love cunt hairs!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah but what color of cunt hairs ? makes all the difference in the world

  • Yea, I don't really know if there's any real truth to that or if it's just coincidence. In a quarter I don't know that you'd get up enough speed to make the ram air have any real effect, and at speeds high enough to gain any power, it's offset by the increase in drag. A WS6 may be a little faster than a Formula or a Z28 because the hood is lighter, but I think that's about it.

  • stock, a ws6 can run a quarter at around 13 flat. juuust passing 100 mph. So that isnt fast enough to get some induction into the hood, eh?

  • At 100 mph, the stock WS6 hood generates the equivalent of around 0.15 psi. Then you have to take into account the drag induced by having a big scoop catching air on front of the car which will increase the faster you go. Plus, 0.15 psi on a 300+ wheel horsepower motor is not going to be noticeable. You'll get more of a change in a 3-4* change in air temp or a couple percent difference in humidity. It's for looks more than anything.

  • .15psi on a 330hp car will add around 3-3.5hp! WOW thats impressive... lol... agreed, its for looks

  • naw faster than 100 mph more like 107-109

  • its about 13.2ish @ 105mph, not 100.

  • that right there goes to show you how horrible the track is in Bristol TN. humidity and elevation has A LOT to do with times. a guy I know had an 02 firehawk auto that ran VERY well on the street and he was runnin 13.8 at 101 mph. that was with aftermarket exhaust. my 97 cobra was runnin low 14s at high 90s. I wanted to shot myself till I realized everyone else was runnin shitty. I hate racin there man. 5500 feet elevation and it's ALWAYS humid when the track is open in the summer...damn

  • it might be off a lil more than that man. that's a big jump. I had a 97 cobra and went from 3.27 to 4.10 (about the same jump as you did) and when I was hittin 160 it was really just 120. 140-145 whould probably be 110 tops. that is IF it's off the same amount but I would assume it would be since you jumped about the same. the best thing to do is a highway run with a chick who doesn't know any better and tell her to watch the speedo....they shit their pants when it passes 160 QUICK lol

  • Our 99 Z28 Ran 13.10 stock. Our 01 Ram Air car ran 13.03 with an air lid only. You can watch the video and see and it doesnt have slicks, but it does have sticky DOT tires.

  • By no means is a firehawk a stock trans am. 4.30 gears will get 12.9 with slicks

  • Wouldn't ya run 4th gear out (in the 1/4) with 4:30's and a 26" tall tire?? I thought 4:10 was a low as one should go for a street/mild strip car with 26" tires.....

  • dam dude, you were bangin gears quicker then them honda boys!!!

    NICE!!

  • high 12s is absolutely no surprise with 4.30 gears vs. the stock 3.42 ratio

  • I responded to this video with another video at the top. My dad borrowed my brothers stickier DOT tires for it, the video showed 12.97 @ 108
