Glen could not think of the name of the book. First, Beck a Mormon Stepper has little credibility. Second, unchecked capitalism is as dangerous as unchecked government.
(Bernie Madoff, Banking system, et al).
We had a balanced budget under Clintion and runaway spending under Bush.
Our Rethuglican Gov in CA has never been able to balance the budget, 1/3 of our expenditures is spent on supporting illegals, of which the Gov refuses to take action.
You (Isabella8466) fall prey to the popular but totally erroneous view that fraud is part of capitalism. It's not. Neither Bernie Madoff's fraud, fraudulently rated bonds, fractional-reserve banking, nor fiat currency are any part of capitalism, yet capitalism's enemies or misguided defenders alike err in ascribing them to capitalism, then using their resultant disasters as "proof" that we need more government regulation. Wrong. We need the government to punish crimes, and otherwise stay out!
It's funny because if you actually expanded your points instead of naming general abstractions, (to which Bernie Madoff and the banking system can be directly attributed to the government's regulations within the banking sector), you would actually see how little credibility there is to your argument.
Yaron Brook and the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights are doing great work. In an America where "national debate" is nothing more than political hacks spewing vitriolic attacks, they are really making a principled argument for what made this country great for all the individuals who live there. More power to them, and I hope their message is heard by more people.
It's like when you are invited to someone's house -- when you get there, no matter what you think of the host, you can't just start bad-mouthing him. You're in _his_ house, and certain respects are demanded.
Whether or not you should have gone to his house in the first place is another question entirely, and I'll agree that perhaps Glenn Beck is not the best place to espouse Objectivist values, but there are few other open venues on TV these days.
So, you're saying that Yaron should pass up the opportunity to advocate his ideas on a major news network because Beck happens to be a Mormon? Well, he also happens to share a substantial number of views with Objectivists and last I checked, there were no Objectivists on any news networks.
If you listen, Beck is saying that those who espouse Evolution AND Socialism are contradicting themselves. If anything, he is showing the virtue in Darwinian theory here, as he himself is pro-free markets.
Why thumb me down? It is a legit question. I've listened to Glen Beck for 5 years, and find him one of the most mystical guys around. The 'AynRandInstitute' replied with a legit answer. I'm for Objectivism.
I'll honestly take the most mystical and deluded religionist who supports individualism than any atheist socialist who even slightly believed that the 'common good' is the most important thing.

I'm find it odd that Glenn (a known religious mystic) would get a free pass on the faith issue. Is it just me?

I'm sure if the topic was "God needs to be a bigger presence in America" then Yaron would have destroyed him.

An atheist is someone who believes something only if there is proof. By that definition an "atheist socialist" is a contradiction.
