  • Former Lufthansa 747 chief pilot at the reverser.

  • Too disjointed. Stick to cockpit view next time.

  • Turn on thrust reversers LIKE A BAWS!

  • I don't know...for some reason this made me afraid...lol

that giant lump of plane, so many things have to be right...so many things can go wrong.

I don't think anyone should underestimate the ability to fly a commercial jet.

    great vid.

  • @CountBoogie Stressful work, but trust me, these pilots really enjoy what they do. Many of them have experience flying military aircraft--flying one of these huge birds is cake, by comparison.

  • @RobDog65 pretty impressive nerve and ability...at any level...I can't even make a good paper airplane...lol

  • Gangsters.

  • It's a Cockpit View !!! How the fuck does it have dislikes? 11 people mad at life?

  • is it right to disengage reverse thrust below 60 knots??????

  • @xxkevinxx323 If i've seen it correctly, he disengaged the thrust reverser a few moments earlier after he made a left turn in the taxiway

  • @killerchamps i thought it was done at 80 knots.

  • in flight simulator that cockpit view is called jump seat

  • what's that annoying audio-loop in the background from 0.00 to 0.56 ?

    pls remove it

  • At 2:18 the controller gave clearance to a Cathay Pacific aircraft to line up and wait while the 747 was on short final. That can't be true.

  • @CathayGuy Kai Tak was in fact that busy, planes departed immediately after the another vacated.... they did not want to lose any time.

  • @CathayGuy I know but, after the plane lands the airplane that was instructed to line up and wait is gone.

  • Sweet

  • When the airplane was about to touch down, the speed breaker was fully dis-engaged.But when it is about to take the turn to the taxi-way, it is visible the captain is dis-engaging the speed breaker...My question is do the pilots use speed breaker after landing to reduce stopping distance?

  • @audiophile2007

pilots use the speed breaker in the air (rarely) just to slow down when they are going to fast and needs to slow down.

But the main use is to slow down after touch down (exactly the moment that the wheels touch down he engages the speed break and then he adds revers thrust) When they reach 60 knots (111 kmph) they disengage the reverse thrust and lower the speed break. when they leave the runway the retract the flaps.

  • @kruger1115 Thanks for your reply.

  • Damn, that pilot engages the thrust reversers like a boss.

  • @Garuda03 Just BAM!!! freaking reverse!!! that takes some incredible fingerwork because you gotta pull each one out of a gate before it engages, lol.

  • @Garuda03

You just pull up on the levers. There are no gates like a flap lever or speedbrake lever. There will be a temporary restriction as you pass through 46 degrees, but that will release when the reverser cowls move back.

    Rgds

  • damn...look at the reflections at 2:33 while activating the thrust reservers !

  • its not the correct sound when it landed .......
