  • @lilylo97 Lol yeah like i could do it but whenever i would try to do it myself i would get scared. I think that's the problem with a lot of people, that fear of going backwards

  • just a tip, something that really helps with a backhandspring is to go up in a handstand against the wall, but not so close, and then flip back. same with a backwalkover just flip your legs one by one.

  • such a useless video- i need to learn how to do a backflip by myself, using no spotters, no trampolines or gymnastic equipment. i'm trying to learn the backhand spring first, and then it should all flow.

  • @heliojanusz It's not useless. It's the easiest and safest way. I really want to learn this. This video gave me idea to flex my back.

  • I did this today at my gymnastics club, and My intructor grant had helped by putting his hand as a curve on my back and I jumped back on my hands and did this. I tried it alone on a mat a few times and I did i perfectly when my mom walked in . Learned it in 5 minutes!!

  • Okay it took me 5 days to learn my back handspring on floor when I was in level 3. Now I'm in level 7 and this vid does not say how to gain the arm muscle to support your body

  • 2 ways to gain arm muscle strength in a back handspring to support your body is; 1. Handstands (against the wall or walks) and 2. Standing Backbends. Good luck.

  • that doesnt tell you how to do a back handspring. yes you jump back but how do you support the middle? The technique the guy did is more so for back walkovers...not back handsprings. They hand nice form but i doubt they learn their handsprings that particular way.

  • If your gym has an Octagon roller that will help. Depending how tall you are, or how big the Octagon roller is, the set up will vary. You can use panel mats (Place sideways) under the Octagon. Lay ur back against the roller and push off the floor. You will pike down, but the drill is to help u get arm strength and confidence of being upside down, depending on ability.

  • They have huge rebounds coz they are on a special spring floor. You won't see them perform the same on a concrete floor. I don't think a good gymnast ould hurt his feet trying on an unforgiving hard concrete floor anyway.

  • True... and the same time, wrong... our team members girls.. was an Elite argentinean gymnasts... and now, they are free runners, jumping in concret.. doing round of tempo hand spring to full..... and mutch more

  • Well guys your age are never afraid of anything lol, so not long. Couple of months maybe, if you're just gonna go out and do it, without doing any drills or anything.

  • gynamstics is almost the best way to learn. thats how i started and then switched to cheer leeading. because in gymnastics you learn things like this , but in cheerleading you learn a bunch of other things. so if you start n gynamstics you learn the basics.

  • im re-learning how to do a backhandspring. i know how its just i have a fear of tumbling and flipping backwards now, and whenever i attempt to do them on the cheese mat with my spot my body twists and i think its because i turn my head. but im not sure. and i think i close my eyes as well. any tips anyone? MESSAGE ME PLEASE <3 thanks.

  • look at you hands. that helped me. I was so focused about being scared, but when I started watching my hands all the time, my focus shifted, and I could actually see where I was going.

  • you think that HE'S hard to understand? My gym coach is japanese with an extremely heavy accent on her english! she says backhandspring like: bahimbling and when we need to more than one she'll say: dabl fleep or cartwheel: kaitveel. or randome: aibrrous (eyeborows)

  • the floor helps, but its momentum. The whole idea of the backflip is to gain speed and momentum to perform harder skills. A sign of a good backflip is a high bounce after.
