Native Southern Californian here, transplanted to Oregon...I often have to inform people here that Cali has every type of natural feature which Oregonians boast of....plus more than one world class city; Folks seem to want to pigeonhole the entire state with LA, or Hollywood. Born and raised in Southen California and wouldn't exchange that experience for nothing in the world. There isn't anywhere in the US that u can live in the burbs...drive a hour west and be in LA...drive an hour south and be at the beach...drive an hour north and be in the moutains...and drive an hour east and be in the desert. Needless to say I'm centralized and LOVE IT!!!!

Hi Veronica, your videos are so awesome! I may have missed it, but how about a full day's sightseeing around LA? Begin the morning walking around Venice Beach, then head up to have lunch on the Santa Monica Pier, hop in your car, and take PCH past Malibu to Topanga Canyon, work your way to Hollywood in the late afternoon, do the Hollywood walk or a tour bus, then dinner somewhere in Hollywood. End the day at Griffith Park at the observatory, That's one awesome day!

Check out his and hers fly shop in Costa Mesa..they do ocean fly fishing from shore tours, wading out in the breakers and getting sea bass and halibut. or come up north and we'll hit 6 rivers based from Redding and hit salmon, steelhead and big trout. catch and release of course!! @princejaa The cost of living can be pretty expensive, but it gets cheaper as you move inland. Are you interested in Northern or Southern California?

@princejaa Santa Barbara is amazing. Things are expensive, but sounds like you're used to it in DC. Best thing to do is check the Santa Barbara area newspapers for rentals, jobs, etc. to get an idea of the costs involved. Have fun! :)

@princejaa That's a good question. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with DC's cost of living. A 1-bedroom apartment in Santa Barbara will run you $800-$1400, and a 2-bedroom is around $1,400-$2,000. Hope this helps!

I recommend Sonoma in the Wine Country of California. It's great for families, couples, and friends and you will find activities for everyone. A great family environment in the downtown square/park and there's also Train Town for all the kids just down the block. Surrounding the square are many unique shops and restaurants, my favorite, The Cheese Factory, for a quick Sandwich or BBQ. And of course Sonoma is surround by numerous gorgeous wineries that the wine country is known for!!!
