    Customer Reviews:

This is my very first Washburn guitar (I have a Squier bullet and a Dean Exotica). I purchased this RX40 in FTSB. Flame something SunBurst... I've never seen the guitar in person but took a dive anyway. I'm very relieved the guitar not only came in perfect condition, the real thing is more beautiful than I had expected. It also felt it ...

  • hmmm - how did the condenser mic pick up such a muddy sound? You must have cut the highs for the benefit of the "mixed" sound, which was good. But you made the acoustic (mic'd) sound seem poor.

  • any video for a washburn ea15atb ?

  • It sounds a little out of tune to me

  • Well gee, I wish we could hear it acoustic without SHITTY mic placement. I can't tell if it's the guitar or the mic that sounds like shit.

  • Is the WMJ10SCE good? I like the shape of it better.

  • i know this is pointless to tone and actually sound, but the headstock is sooo ugly...

  • is this guitar made in china ?

  • Hi i have a question. does an electric acoustic guitar work if the battery is empty? like the playing will it work? I know the tuner won't work anymore but the guitar itself with chords and stuff will that still work or become really weak? or is the battery strictly for amping your guitar up to something? thank you.

  • @Hollywoodgirl1010 If the battery dies, you'll essentially be left with a normal acoustic guitar. There will still be sound coming out of the sound hole (the same sound that the microphone is picking up) and you can hear that regardless of battery level. The only problem will be when you plug it in (eg gigs, amps, sound mixers / cards)

Basically, you'll be fine still :)

  • Washburn marca otima.

  • talk about an oxymoron

  • Why do people still buy regular acoustic guitars then except for you know, budget reasons, because I've seen a regular acoustic guitar 10 times pricier than a decent electric-acoustic?

  • Help, guys! Stupid questions! Why do acoustic-electrics have a built-in pre amp? Why can't we directly connect them to an amp? Why do they have two output jacks? Why almost all of them need to be played behind a microphone instead of playing them truly acoustic or unplugged? Why do we need a special acoustic amp instead of a normal electric guitar amp? Why can't we make them make effects using a pedal?

  • @ConfusedSponge What's the other output jack for? How to play in 2 modes? Microphone and connected to an amp just like in the video? What happened if we play without microphones in front of the guitar? I heard that acoustic electrics have built-in microphone! What is that and what does that mean? What are transducers? To have built-in transducers, what does that mean?

I have 2 more very important questions but can't remember. Will post if I can remember them again! Hope you guys.......

  • @ConfusedSponge .......are willing to help a n00b to this kind of guitars! Any help will be deeply appreciated! Thank you for the time ;-)

  • @ConfusedSponge ;-) So can we play acoustic-electrics truly acoustically without any kind of amplication or any electronic or electric device?

  • sounds so much nicer acousticly

  • anybody answer me please .. i wanna buy similar guitar but i have a question .. is that an acoustic and electric guitar at the same time ??! >stupid question bur plz anybody answer me <3

  • @TamiRatlick it's an acoustic guitar, but you can connect it to an amplificator for gettig a higher sound

  • Doesn't it sound like he says "dyke-ass tuners" hahaha

  • @coolerty hahahah

  • @coolerty Yay, I heard that too!

  • just got a washburn d10n i think its an older model but still great

  • i played about 40 different acoustic guitars under $500 this week and decided on a takimine eg340sc. it sounded better than anything else in the price range and was comparable in tone to a lot of the martins that were twice the price.

What does that have to do with Washburn? I played a washburn and was real impressed. It was about the third best sounding in the range i looked at behind an ibanez and the takimine. Good bang for the buck

  • @spongeboy61 from personal experience, don't go too heavy on the string gauge with that eg340sc, mine broke from the tension, pulling the bridge up AND slightly twisting the neck. the strings laid down on the frets like a whipped puppy hiding under the porch. now i search for a new guitar, takamine is not in the running.

  • @worshipmusician45601

I have the same problem. It's not the strings fault. It's not mounted well. It's a serious flaw. This guitar has a great sound with medium stings (I wouldn't play it any other way), but the pick ups are cheep cheep and the bridge may pop of at any minute. I don't think it's repairable for less than the total worth of the guitar.

  • the dike-um dicast tuners. Hahahah

  • Be cool if they had a decent player sampling and showing these guitars

  • The tone sounds like crap external mic or not it's crap!

  • you should have kept the same chord progression for the mixed example

  • Honestly i was at my local guitar center, and i saw a Washburn D-6S, honestly, i played every single Martin guitar they had in the room and i could't find a warmer, nicer, inviting sound as the Washburn, i mean when you hit the chords you felt that bass kick you in the chest, giving a satisfying boom. Best part is, is that it only costed $150, bets money i have ever spent in my whole life. They even through in a Gator case for $50

  • If it's so good why such a shitty tune.... Ibanez AEF 18 is way better. I own both. And it's so much cheaper it's stupid.

  • Is the sound of this one much different from D9? Which acoustic guitar would you recommend to play blues on for a budget of 170 euro?

  • Comment removed

  • how much is it?

  • The Washburn guitars really do sound nice. I own a couple of them. The sound on this video doesn't really do them justice. I bought one of mine at w w w dot Musicians Discount Club dot com.

  • it sounds horrible because he's not even playing over the sound hole. it would sound a lot fuller if he did.

  • @yhcnoR WHAT?? Are you kidding?? It always kills me to see comments from "experts" The sound comes from the string vibrating over the sound hole. moving his hand 1/2 inch toward the headstock will not make a bit of difference live and no where close to making a difference with a mic.

  • @rwbrdms1 Ok, yhcnoR obviously doesn't understand guitar. You can play the guitar next to the bridge or even up at the nut. This just provides the guitarist with more tones and versatility

Now secondly, the sound does not come from strings vibrating over the soundhole. The sound comes from the bridge transfering the vibration of the strings to the soundboard which vibrates the air inside the guitar and therefore amplifies the sound produced by the strings.

  • @Ylviste yes you are correct in the way the strings transfer sound to the sound board rather than my poor description however "technical experts" such as yourself are extremely irritating when you knock someone putting on a demo. it doesnt sound bad. hes playing very near the soundhole so my initial comment was do you really think moving his rt hand 1/4 of an inch will make that much of a difference...especially on this vid?? hell no...

  • the preamp sounds horrible!

  • I have one of these and love it!

  • amazing video, thanks for the help. i am looking for a new guitar and i was looking at the D 10s and the D10sce, i was wondering if you knew if there were any difference between the two of them besides the fact that the D10sce is electric/acoustic. and if they had the same clean sound. thanks for everything :)

  • How does the tone and sound projection compare between the D10SCE and the D10S? I tried a used D10S that was in ruff condition, due to the way it had been treated. It still sounded good. It had a full tone as to lows mids and highs. The volume projected well also. The strings did not have a dead sound at all. I was thinking of ordering the D10S but now I'm considering the SCE. I want the sound of the D10S. Will I be getting that with the SCE (unplugged)?

  • @dukeofgerald It's the same guitar as the D10S except this is a cutaway and an acoustic electric. The D10s probably has a bigger and more full sound unplugged than this does in person because it's a dreadnought.

  • I've got Washburn D10SCER (black) ...see my videos

  • mic beats transducer

  • can u use a distotion box on an electric acoustic guitar

  • is a electric acoustic guitar a good guitar to start with if i want to play country and rock music?

  • cheap guitar, and sounds like it. Doesnt come close to a high end Martin. you get what you pay for.

  • @qommoq what would you expect from a guitar that costs a fraction of the price? Not a bad little guitar...better that a lot of others in the price range but personally i'd say value and quality in the price range would be a G series Takamine

  • i have a serious doubt , I might seem stupid but it's possible play with distortion in a normal amp. in a acoustic/eletric guitar ? I appreciate the answers.

  • thumbs up if u hate the tune that he plays........damn it gets annoying.....

  • @mosharybobo I know! It's like a generic tune for or from a Hallmark or Lifetime TV movie or something!

  • Hey everyone !!! im thinking about getting a new guitar , i got a stagg now , and im not quite happy with it :(

So , im going to buy washburn d10sce or Fender d140sce! or any other suggestions? please help me ! msg me !! thx

  • @robin93unknown get a gibson meastro!!i have one and i am very pleased with it.

  • When people make guitars like this they neeed to make sliders not nobs! gah!

  • @StevenMovieMaker7 .....well try the D10SCEDL version you will be glad to know it has sliders

  • I have this guitar, it has the same dark, wooden tone as in the video. Very nice if you already have an electric guitar as it gives you a nice difference in tone between them and thus inreases your musical range far better than lighter sounding guitars.

  • I also have the same one as the video. It does sound better in person and is easily worth twice the going price.

  • Just got the SCE (same as the one in this video). Sounds awesome, £176, great price for such a well-made guitar!

Infact, the real sound of this guitar is much better than it sounds in this video!

    5*

  • P.S. my one is the upgraded model with the fishman ion+/isys, the wt-82 has been phased out. Mine also doesn't have the mic/3-pin output, only standard jack output.

  • what is the song that he played for the mike test?

  • i like that blue guitar in the background. does anyone have any idea what it is?

  • looks like some sort of washburn

  • a blue washborn lol

  • @pnoplyr14 by the look of the headstock and everything, i would say it is an Oscar Schmidt, which is Washburn's more budget line of guitars. They several guitars that same blue. The first guitar I bought looked very similar, it was an Oscar Schmidt.

  • @jifigz Oscar Schmidt ftw! lol.

  • it looks like an Yamaha CPX900 in Marine Blue but not to sure hope that helps ya(:

  • lulz @ "dike...uh...die cast"

Call me immature, but that made me giggle.

  • brassy sound with just the onboards, nice through the mic but at $400 it sounds good from here.

  • what song's he playing?

  • Nitwits don't know how to mic the thing :P

    Sounds sweet regardless xD

Anything on the durability of this thing?

  • FANTASTIC GUITAR...MY GUITAR!!!

  • i have a 400 dollar d10 q cutaway and its just as good as my dads 2000 dollar taylor

  • I have this guitar. It's awesome.

  • My newly bought washburn Dsce 10 black. According to critics excellent guitar. In practice, more than this. Nice shape, excellent quality body, nice, strong and clear accoustic rock n roll sound, self control tuning and good quality preamps, definately its consists of a sound diamond.

  • Nice guitar, but why does it sound buzzy when u play it?

  • @JulioAngel9 either hes not putting enough pressure on the frets or they hooked up the mic wrong

  • Ooooh ok that explains it, i thought i was because of the fret board or the strings were too low.

  • buzzy buz buz

  • MY GUİTAR ...WASHBURN D10SCE

  • CAN SOMEONE HOW TO USE THE TUNER

  • TAKAMİNE

  • TAKAMİNE :)

  • For me I like Acoustic or Acoustic Electric guitars better than an ELECTRIC one..

My opinion, Electric guitars are really for Hard Rock song..for riffs.

It's like really noisy for ME. ^_^ just saying.

  • i think im getting an electric acustic for xmas. was wondering if i could use my electic amp for it or do i need an acustic amp

  • u can use your electic amp but a acustic amp would just make sound better

  • this guitar should sound a lot better than in this video, i dont know if the equalization of the mic and amp is flat or what but im not convinced this it how this guitar really sounds

  • thanks. That's nice to hear since I'm buying this one tomorrow :)

  • Does this sound any different from the D10SDL?

  • i play a F8 accoustic and have written over 200 of mt 470 songs with it it will always be my 1st choice over ant set of strings,,,,bryanoverturf1

  • i have the same guitar,, Its a machine

  • could you help me? cuz i'm a beginner and i saw a washburn acoustic/electric guitar with tuner and i can't figure out why there are numbers instead of letters.

  • does your guitar have another strap button near the neck or do you have to get a strap that ties around the top neck?

  • It's a fantastic guitar. It sound great, stay turned and it's just fantastic

  • and how much does it cost?

  • its about $600 australian.

  • shit. In Denmark it's ca $363

  • @reebocken Wow, so cheap. It's $436 in Estonia.

  • Oh well, actually it's the same in Denmark, NORMALLY. But this month they are $100 cheaper or something..

I bought one yesterday, but the strings are buzzing a lot so I have to go back there tomorrow and ask them to fix it. I just hate it, when you've bought something and you love the stuff and wanna use it.. and then it just does't work as it should.... :[

  • @reebocken Why didn't you try to play it at the shop? xD

  • I did. But I didn't hear it there..

  • do you this cutaway model without pick up?

  • how much is this guitar?

  • yeah, but thats the point, to put a little electric touch to oyur acoustic guitar, plus it gives you ultimate control over your acoustic sound.

  • i own this model and its great! it sounds pretty amazing!

  • hey i have the same guitar and my built in tuner keeps on displaying numbers from 1-7, i thought it was which string was being played but my guitar only has 6 strings any one wanna help as to what the numbers signify?

  • probably stands for the note ur string is making c.d.e.f.g.a.b

  • That would be for a 7- string guitar

  • but 7 string guitars arent standard and i dont think they have 7 string acoustics only electrics can possibly have 7 strings right?

  • Well i think they would just use the same components in their acoustic tuners as there electric tuners cause it would save them money and time

  • when he turns the pre amp on what should my controls on my taylor be to have that kind of sound?

  • this video makes this guitar sound not so great. i can attest that it actually sounds alot better than this

  • Hey, could anyone tell if there is a difference between this model and d10s? As far as I know the cut away and the preamp are the differences, but I wonder if there is a tone difference between both... I had the opportunity to try d10s but i can not find this model in my local store. Which one would you recommend?

  • i think there is a difference. i own this model and the3 d-10 dread and also the d10 s 12 the d10sce seems to have a much warmer tone. i like it the best out of the 3

  • wich guitar is better the acoustic or the electric plz commet back

  • It's not the same. First of all you need to know what you're going to play. But if u mean electroacustic or acoustic, i would recommend electroacoustic. There more options available for that type of guitar, you can make more sounds.

  • electric

  • you should try Jesus just left Chicago by ZZ top, because they used an acoustic/electric guitar, and that was pretty cool to hear.

  • Hey....Play it first and then talk you noob

  • Big girls dont cry lol.

  • Holy shit! It is big girls don't cry! Good call dude, this guy reviewing is a giant douche.

  • LOL

  • someone plz answer, im getting an acoustic electric soon and will it sound alright going into a solid state electric guitar amp? (im not talking about a hollow body electric, i mean an acoustic electric haha, someone made that mistake telling me before)

  • That is not rly good, that is why we have acoustic amps.

  • when i put my acoustic thru my roland cube 15 it sounds alright as long as i dont put any distortion on it... i like the sound on my pod studio ux2 better though!

  • Hey

Watch the videoresponse I left, I play D10SCEB there at concert. The black version of the same guitar.

  • wat size is this guitar

  • What is the last song he plays?

  • my guitar is very similar to that. i love it... the cut away body is perfect for me and the tone is great

  • im in 2 minds in wich guitar to buy.Its Rather the d10sce or an epiphone hummingbird...after alot of research and review reading it seems the hummingbird has alot of setup issues?? im really confused on wich one to buy..someone help please ! this is my price range alos.

  • so an acoustic/electric guitar sounds like acoustic but when with an amp is electric?

  • Technically yea xD

  • the first song he plays is from big girls dont cry

    lol

  • ahaha, i didnt catch that until i saw ur comment. lol! problably just an accident.

  • Cause it's a demo, not a concert. He's just here to show what it sounds and acts like, not what he can do with it.

  • MEINE GITARRE! i have the self, and i love my guitar!!!

  • can you get distortion out of an accoustic electric?

  • yeah but it usually doesn't sound too good.

  • yes, but its not recommended.

  • i bet that thing costs a SHIT load mahogony is expensive as shit

  • actually its just about $339.00

  • It's mahogany laminate, not solid mahogany.

  • actually its solid fatsoe!

  • Calm down, kid. Check out the specs yourself if you want. It's laminate, not solid.

  • Dike-ass tuners?

  • *dicast

    Lol

  • bought one yesterday and Im taking it into a recording studio today, so I'll see how it fares!

  • wait is this a 6 string?

  • yes..yes it is

  • i've got this guitar in black :D

  • i have one of these. it's nice. but bear in mind it's GOOD FOR IT'S PRICE. which means if you spend another $100 you can quite easily find a much better one

  • thats one cool guitar. i want the lef-handed version.

  • i own an older washburn acoustic, no electronics that plays fabulously. and it isn't even a solid top! how is this guitar for intermediate players, anyone?

  • its good for beater. but if you are an intermediate player...i think you should just save another $200, $300 and get a much better one

  • yep. i compared it with a Walden solid-top guitar and there is absolutely no comparison. I am buying a Walden as soon as I can...fabulous guitars for the price.

  • this guitar is amazing!!!

  • What would presence exactly do?

  • I got 1 off ebay i cant wait to get it
