hmmm - how did the condenser mic pick up such a muddy sound? You must have cut the highs for the benefit of the "mixed" sound, which was good. But you made the acoustic (mic'd) sound seem poor.
Hi i have a question. does an electric acoustic guitar work if the battery is empty? like the playing will it work? I know the tuner won't work anymore but the guitar itself with chords and stuff will that still work or become really weak? or is the battery strictly for amping your guitar up to something? thank you.
@Hollywoodgirl1010 If the battery dies, you'll essentially be left with a normal acoustic guitar. There will still be sound coming out of the sound hole (the same sound that the microphone is picking up) and you can hear that regardless of battery level. The only problem will be when you plug it in (eg gigs, amps, sound mixers / cards)
ha I have this guitar! i must say I cant stop playing... its sound fuckin awsome, everytime i walk past it i cant help but sit down a jam for a half hour... i have been late so many time to work because of this guitar! BUY it I highly recomend it
Why do people still buy regular acoustic guitars then except for you know, budget reasons, because I've seen a regular acoustic guitar 10 times pricier than a decent electric-acoustic?
Help, guys! Stupid questions! Why do acoustic-electrics have a built-in pre amp? Why can't we directly connect them to an amp? Why do they have two output jacks? Why almost all of them need to be played behind a microphone instead of playing them truly acoustic or unplugged? Why do we need a special acoustic amp instead of a normal electric guitar amp? Why can't we make them make effects using a pedal?
@ConfusedSponge What's the other output jack for? How to play in 2 modes? Microphone and connected to an amp just like in the video? What happened if we play without microphones in front of the guitar? I heard that acoustic electrics have built-in microphone! What is that and what does that mean? What are transducers? To have built-in transducers, what does that mean?
I have 2 more very important questions but can't remember. Will post if I can remember them again! Hope you guys.......
anybody answer me please .. i wanna buy similar guitar but i have a question .. is that an acoustic and electric guitar at the same time ??! >stupid question bur plz anybody answer me <3
If you go to MelodeeMusic in Leesburg VA, don't believe anything he says. He'll say whatever will get you buy inventory that isn't moving if he thinks he can fool you. I have short fingers & he convinced me that a wider neck is easier to play with short fingers & I spent 2 hrs there & ended up spending over a grand on a Martin that has the widest neck they make.
i played about 40 different acoustic guitars under $500 this week and decided on a takimine eg340sc. it sounded better than anything else in the price range and was comparable in tone to a lot of the martins that were twice the price.
What does that have to do with Washburn? I played a washburn and was real impressed. It was about the third best sounding in the range i looked at behind an ibanez and the takimine. Good bang for the buck
@spongeboy61 from personal experience, don't go too heavy on the string gauge with that eg340sc, mine broke from the tension, pulling the bridge up AND slightly twisting the neck. the strings laid down on the frets like a whipped puppy hiding under the porch. now i search for a new guitar, takamine is not in the running.
I have the same problem. It's not the strings fault. It's not mounted well. It's a serious flaw. This guitar has a great sound with medium stings (I wouldn't play it any other way), but the pick ups are cheep cheep and the bridge may pop of at any minute. I don't think it's repairable for less than the total worth of the guitar.
i have wondering wether to learn to play the drums or guitar and i have been thinkins more about the guitar so now if i decide to play guitar i know i will buy this one
Honestly i was at my local guitar center, and i saw a Washburn D-6S, honestly, i played every single Martin guitar they had in the room and i could't find a warmer, nicer, inviting sound as the Washburn, i mean when you hit the chords you felt that bass kick you in the chest, giving a satisfying boom. Best part is, is that it only costed $150, bets money i have ever spent in my whole life. They even through in a Gator case for $50
The Washburn guitars really do sound nice. I own a couple of them. The sound on this video doesn't really do them justice. I bought one of mine at w w w dot Musicians Discount Club dot com.
@yhcnoR WHAT?? Are you kidding?? It always kills me to see comments from "experts" The sound comes from the string vibrating over the sound hole. moving his hand 1/2 inch toward the headstock will not make a bit of difference live and no where close to making a difference with a mic.
@rwbrdms1 Ok, yhcnoR obviously doesn't understand guitar. You can play the guitar next to the bridge or even up at the nut. This just provides the guitarist with more tones and versatility
Now secondly, the sound does not come from strings vibrating over the soundhole. The sound comes from the bridge transfering the vibration of the strings to the soundboard which vibrates the air inside the guitar and therefore amplifies the sound produced by the strings.
@Ylviste yes you are correct in the way the strings transfer sound to the sound board rather than my poor description however "technical experts" such as yourself are extremely irritating when you knock someone putting on a demo. it doesnt sound bad. hes playing very near the soundhole so my initial comment was do you really think moving his rt hand 1/4 of an inch will make that much of a difference...especially on this vid?? hell no...
amazing video, thanks for the help. i am looking for a new guitar and i was looking at the D 10s and the D10sce, i was wondering if you knew if there were any difference between the two of them besides the fact that the D10sce is electric/acoustic. and if they had the same clean sound. thanks for everything :)
How does the tone and sound projection compare between the D10SCE and the D10S? I tried a used D10S that was in ruff condition, due to the way it had been treated. It still sounded good. It had a full tone as to lows mids and highs. The volume projected well also. The strings did not have a dead sound at all. I was thinking of ordering the D10S but now I'm considering the SCE. I want the sound of the D10S. Will I be getting that with the SCE (unplugged)?
@dukeofgerald It's the same guitar as the D10S except this is a cutaway and an acoustic electric. The D10s probably has a bigger and more full sound unplugged than this does in person because it's a dreadnought.
@qommoq what would you expect from a guitar that costs a fraction of the price? Not a bad little guitar...better that a lot of others in the price range but personally i'd say value and quality in the price range would be a G series Takamine
i have a serious doubt , I might seem stupid but it's possible play with distortion in a normal amp. in a acoustic/eletric guitar ? I appreciate the answers.
I have this guitar, it has the same dark, wooden tone as in the video. Very nice if you already have an electric guitar as it gives you a nice difference in tone between them and thus inreases your musical range far better than lighter sounding guitars.
P.S. my one is the upgraded model with the fishman ion+/isys, the wt-82 has been phased out. Mine also doesn't have the mic/3-pin output, only standard jack output.
@pnoplyr14 by the look of the headstock and everything, i would say it is an Oscar Schmidt, which is Washburn's more budget line of guitars. They several guitars that same blue. The first guitar I bought looked very similar, it was an Oscar Schmidt.
My newly bought washburn Dsce 10 black. According to critics excellent guitar. In practice, more than this. Nice shape, excellent quality body, nice, strong and clear accoustic rock n roll sound, self control tuning and good quality preamps, definately its consists of a sound diamond.
this guitar should sound a lot better than in this video, i dont know if the equalization of the mic and amp is flat or what but im not convinced this it how this guitar really sounds
could you help me? cuz i'm a beginner and i saw a washburn acoustic/electric guitar with tuner and i can't figure out why there are numbers instead of letters.
Oh well, actually it's the same in Denmark, NORMALLY. But this month they are $100 cheaper or something..
I bought one yesterday, but the strings are buzzing a lot so I have to go back there tomorrow and ask them to fix it. I just hate it, when you've bought something and you love the stuff and wanna use it.. and then it just does't work as it should.... :[
hey i have the same guitar and my built in tuner keeps on displaying numbers from 1-7, i thought it was which string was being played but my guitar only has 6 strings any one wanna help as to what the numbers signify?
Hey, could anyone tell if there is a difference between this model and d10s? As far as I know the cut away and the preamp are the differences, but I wonder if there is a tone difference between both... I had the opportunity to try d10s but i can not find this model in my local store. Which one would you recommend?
i think there is a difference. i own this model and the3 d-10 dread and also the d10 s 12 the d10sce seems to have a much warmer tone. i like it the best out of the 3
It's not the same. First of all you need to know what you're going to play. But if u mean electroacustic or acoustic, i would recommend electroacoustic. There more options available for that type of guitar, you can make more sounds.
someone plz answer, im getting an acoustic electric soon and will it sound alright going into a solid state electric guitar amp? (im not talking about a hollow body electric, i mean an acoustic electric haha, someone made that mistake telling me before)
when i put my acoustic thru my roland cube 15 it sounds alright as long as i dont put any distortion on it... i like the sound on my pod studio ux2 better though!
im in 2 minds in wich guitar to buy.Its Rather the d10sce or an epiphone hummingbird...after alot of research and review reading it seems the hummingbird has alot of setup issues?? im really confused on wich one to buy..someone help please ! this is my price range alos.
i have one of these. it's nice. but bear in mind it's GOOD FOR IT'S PRICE. which means if you spend another $100 you can quite easily find a much better one
i own an older washburn acoustic, no electronics that plays fabulously. and it isn't even a solid top! how is this guitar for intermediate players, anyone?
yep. i compared it with a Walden solid-top guitar and there is absolutely no comparison. I am buying a Walden as soon as I can...fabulous guitars for the price.

MetallicaFan1493 2 years ago
but 7 string guitars arent standard and i dont think they have 7 string acoustics only electrics can possibly have 7 strings right?
LiveScythe47 2 years ago
Well i think they would just use the same components in their acoustic tuners as there electric tuners cause it would save them money and time

when he turns the pre amp on what should my controls on my taylor be to have that kind of sound?

Hey, could anyone tell if there is a difference between this model and d10s? As far as I know the cut away and the preamp are the differences, but I wonder if there is a tone difference between both... I had the opportunity to try d10s but i can not find this model in my local store. Which one would you recommend?
woodpecker1982 2 years ago
i think there is a difference. i own this model and the3 d-10 dread and also the d10 s 12 the d10sce seems to have a much warmer tone. i like it the best out of the 3

wich guitar is better the acoustic or the electric plz commet back
geniousdeeson 2 years ago
It's not the same. First of all you need to know what you're going to play. But if u mean electroacustic or acoustic, i would recommend electroacoustic. There more options available for that type of guitar, you can make more sounds.

electric
gh1995 2 years ago
you should try Jesus just left Chicago by ZZ top, because they used an acoustic/electric guitar, and that was pretty cool to hear.

swishitjoey 2 years ago
That is not rly good, that is why we have acoustic amps.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
why dont they have a guy that can jam out and play some good stuff?? not just a bunch of bar chords an 8th grader could play??
DoubleD629 2 years ago
Cause it's a demo, not a concert. He's just here to show what it sounds and acts like, not what he can do with it.

i own an older washburn acoustic, no electronics that plays fabulously. and it isn't even a solid top! how is this guitar for intermediate players, anyone?
babaradio 3 years ago
its good for beater. but if you are an intermediate player...i think you should just save another $200, $300 and get a much better one
yoshihayashi 3 years ago
yep. i compared it with a Walden solid-top guitar and there is absolutely no comparison. I am buying a Walden as soon as I can...fabulous guitars for the price.
