@porkboi well crunches help u push 4rm ur diaphram the more crunches the stronger ur diaphram and crunches also help u to endure longer during a game but yea air control and capacity does play a part i kno 4 sure cuz i played baritone and tuba i knock crunches and helps me control air and play louder
@southernjags Actually running helped me the most. Nothing opens your lungs up like running does. And it really helped the year I marched and played the concert baritone horn. Those damn things require a lot of air to march and play.
ASU just play songs just to be playing them....no musicianship...they are always out of tune...never balanced...just horrible....they have no control....GO SU....CLEARLY THEY RAN THAT TOWN....

I got an opinion!! Southern wasnt as loud as they normally are! mellos were really non existent! state mellos ate em alive! southern was decent! state had a better song selection and thier upper brass kill southerns

Your tubas are not bad like everyone makes them out to be, BUT - you will get a better quality sound from brass tubas. Not even debatable. It's a fuller, rounder sound, and you can get much better volume. Plus, the pedal tones hit much harder on brass. Try a Conn and I guarantee you'll hear the difference.
Yea I know what its like to a brass tuba, but I can't come here change what is I can only work with it and do it to the best of my abilities and I'm telling you if Southern had brass tubas it would be over for a lot of tuba sections out there. hell everyone in the tuba section went from playing a brass tuba to the fiberglass which fiberglass is better for SU BAND because of the style of songs and strenuous tuba lines.

Fiberglass vs brass does not determine how well you play. If it does it is in their head. I played both for several years. Brass are just heavier. If anything, the intensity of their drills is reason enough to play on fiberglass
@BassClefKilla It would be unfair to other bands if SU got Brass Tubas, there would be no compitition, atleast now we can give them hope before we take their breath.
