Netting on Lake Mille Lacs

Tribal netting is a racist practice and what I call selective sovereignty. These are Americans that are taking advantage of the system that allows them to do so. We are are supposed to be equal but a certain group of Americans are allowed to have casinos, rape our lakes during spawning, and dodge our tax system. This is wrong and nothing else.

Sounds like we have some very ignorant people who are jealous because they cannot catch walleyes like that with a hook and line. I see nothing wrong with what these guys are doing. It is their right. It's not like there are thousands of people coming to Mille Lacs to net Walleyes in this manner. And it's a large enough lake to sustain a population of walleyes on it's own.

Who said it was sport I live on this lake and net in the same spot as my great grandfathers. The resource is not in jeopardy so dont get your panties in a bunch! Besides the state doesnt have a say in the matter, its something your going to have to accept and come to terms with and none is wasted, I feed my family and friends Indian and Non Indian so if you have a problem I suggest you go down to the landing and carry that tone with the people who do this.
