Wow, this dude's a walking flatline. Sonic Heroes is okay, but the team function is a pain in the neck. I'd rather play Sonic Adventure. The characters aren't dragged down by each other in that game.

It's the control that I have a bigger problem with. Tighter control would have done wonders for this game. Still, I consider this game to be the best of the "old style" 3D Sonic games.

Gamespot always lies about framerate issues. They said sonic adventure DX has bad framerate that screws up the game. Also, why do people say sonic games have bad cameras? Other then once or twice, the camera was always good in sa 1-2 and heroes.

People care about the other characters. I love Team Chaotix at least, you could push Team Dark and Team Rose into a valcano and I would cheer happily. when i first heard this game was comming to ps2 i almost peed in my pants as a kid because i didnt have a gamecube to play the other 3d sonic games sonic heroes was my first 3d sonic game.
Falling into nothing is nothing new. Old Sonic games had it all the time, and since it was a sidescroller, no heads up. I died more in those games than in Heroes, though some scripted parts of the game aren't calibrated right and the camera more than once will screw you over.
When it comes to loops, no matter how the camera is facing, you ALWAYS hold UP to keep going.
The game was great. Sucky only compared to Sonic Adventure 1/2, which most people will say were superior in almost every way.
I know tons of kids that LOVE this game and all the extra characters and teams...so maybe it was geared towards children 3+ like what the box said and not 35 year olds like this guy who reviews a fun game so harshly xD

To be quite honest, I believe that Sonic Heroes was one of the tighter and faster classic 3d gaming styles next to the Sonic Adventures( 1 &2). This game even beats the hell out of Sonic 06, if you ask me.

Nice review. Though I much mention that vector and his team are the only ones I use. I actually like vector more then tails who is lame. Also vector was supposed to be in the Sonic sound test and first game but both ideas were scrapped so technically Vector is one of the oldest characters right beside sonic. He is older then tails and knuckles. And some of the characters are nice to have.
This game is great on PS2 but the frame rate is terrible and the graphics aren't very good, the XBOX version is alright, the frame rate is fine and the graphics aren't perfect but they're alright and is my favorite version because the controls are best, the Game Cube and PC version have the best frame rate and graphics but the reason I don't think it's good on those two is because the controls are crappy.
this game reminded me of classic sonic, not gameplay or overall team concept, but it was very light on story like in 2d games, and 2 acts, 7 zones, 1 chaos emerald per zone from special stage.. I didnt consider it really a continuation as much as i thought of it as a whole separate game, even if it do give us small fragments about what happened to shadow. Its still one of my favorite 3d sonic games, as it was long, and featured fast and varied gameplay, and the team idea was great

You have to be retarded to keep falling in this game. The game is fairly hard, but it's a breeze to NOT FALL OFF THE EDGE.

Seriously, they all pwn heroes, especially during their best levels, fanboys only seem to hate those due to extra things, that everyione else liked/didnt care about.
If there ever was a "Last good Sonic game" it would be Sonic Rush or Rivals.

This game is 7 years old.At the time, It's graphics were amazing! This guy plainly sucks at this game. Besides the SA's series,This is the best 3D one yet. Better than Sonic 06, black Knight, SR, etc.The Camera is perfect, the XB version is smoother than all the sonic games today..All he cares about is trashing games. This game is my favorite Sonic game.Is it to hard for you? The emerald challenges to hard?Is that why you trashed the game?It's a hard game,that's why it's worth its money and fun.

@MrAvacadoes The graphics were NOT amazing at its time. The first level had a nice background, but its all uninspired like "industrial level, ghost mansion level, beach level, etc" and really, look at the character models!
Not only that, the game makes you replay it 4 TIMES, that's 3 more times than I'm willing to play it, and they are NOT different enough from each other.
But my biggest gripe with this game, is the absolutely horrid dialogue.

The only thing I seem to not like about this is the team work gimmick of it. playing as only one person was good enough. But still over all a good game. (Have it for GC)

This game actually ruined sonic for me. It felt boring and tedious to me. The level designs were disorienting! The camera constantly fought me! I did like the speed, but it didn't make up for how boring and empty it left me.

To be quite honest, I believe that Sonic Heroes was one of the tighter and faster classic 3d gaming styles next to the Sonic Adventures( 1 &2). This game even beats the hell out of Sonic 06, if you ask me.

@Penguin360DS Basically, the frame rate determines how much of the game you get to see per second. For instance, most motion pictures play at 30 Frames Per Second, and most games run at 60 Frames Per Second, which means they run a bit more smoothly. Depending on the console you use and the game you play, the frame rate can drop quite a bit, causing slowdown or skipping. In a Sonic game, that can be the difference between life or death.

Nice review. Though I much mention that vector and his team are the only ones I use. I actually like vector more then tails who is lame. Also vector was supposed to be in the Sonic sound test and first game but both ideas were scrapped so technically Vector is one of the oldest characters right beside sonic. He is older then tails and knuckles. And some of the characters are nice to have.

This game is great on PS2 but the frame rate is terrible and the graphics aren't very good, the XBOX version is alright, the frame rate is fine and the graphics aren't perfect but they're alright and is my favorite version because the controls are best, the Game Cube and PC version have the best frame rate and graphics but the reason I don't think it's good on those two is because the controls are crappy.

this game reminded me of classic sonic, not gameplay or overall team concept, but it was very light on story like in 2d games, and 2 acts, 7 zones, 1 chaos emerald per zone from special stage.. I didnt consider it really a continuation as much as i thought of it as a whole separate game, even if it do give us small fragments about what happened to shadow. Its still one of my favorite 3d sonic games, as it was long, and featured fast and varied gameplay, and the team idea was great

umm. no. but i did stop playing from time spans of 1 year, and each time i went on again my data was wiped. But the latest time i went on i did it in 2 weeks from scratch, but i did have to train alot from 5 years ago.

and i hate when they ALWAYS have to mention the old sonic games we get it. i have the ps2 version so idk how its the least recommended it was easy except for the emeralds. and sucky quality? what do u expect its an old game its for gameplay not for viewing the effects. and if you dont know how to play it get someone that does and let him review it. all you reviewers care about is shooting games.

i think he measn falling into nothing, like when theirs no reason you should have fallen , sonic heroes was a terrible game for me.Dont get me wrong i enjoyed it WHILST i was playing it, but its a glitchy slippery game, with a watery plot and bad graphics, one thing i ahve to say though.. i cheated to get the emeralds :P
