  • How big is the tank

  • ID RECCOMEND TO NOT STACK THE ROCKS LIKE THAT BECAUSE IF MORE THAN ONE TURTLE IS ON THERE OR EVEN ONE IT MAY FALL OVER HURTING ONE OF YOUR TURTLES I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE FELL RIGHT ON HIS HEAD AND HE DIED A DAY LATER

  • No offence but I'm trying to look up a video of a person setting up a a turtle tank not showing what it looks like i wanna know step by step because im getting one for xmas and i need to know how to set up the tank :/

    ???

  • @ItalianBoy749 LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • bigger tank please said the turtle :(

  • Suggestion: Remove the rocks to add more swimming space, this is a little tight for 4 turtles. Suction cup the sides of the floating log to the sides of the tank, and make it your primary basking area. An alternative would be to remove the log and rocks and add an above-tank turtle topper/basking area either homemade or store bought. Let me know if this helps.

  • hey around a week ago when i came back frome school i found a red eared-sleder turtel in the middle of the street (think someone must have just left it ther :/ ) .. anw i took it with me feed it with mincemeat and shrimps and some variety of plants now its eating and drinking well but atm coz i dont have a tank nor have money for one i keep it on the balcony with a shallow bowl of water but i dont think its enough to keep it healthy could you give me any advice on what i could do pls its vital

  • @annie8nicole no its not heathy, but for now try using plastic storage containers. lyk at walmart. but dont fill it up too high for these thing arent designed to hold water. yu must also set it up so he/she could come out n dry off so making a slope out of rocks would be ideal. and finally yu need a light and lamp. now for this one yu hav to get it at the petstore. make sure it emits UVA< UVB and heat. its not gunna be cheap. then simply place the light over the basking area. its only temporary.

  • @annie8nicole Well for starters dont keep a wild turtle.

  • @Yakuzagang5 it was not wild !! u actually think im that stupid to keep a wild turtle?!?!

  • Haha, the turtles saying hello! Your turtles and tank are very nice.

  • what about plants?

  • Lmao cover your genitals

  • COVER YOUR GENITALS LOL

  • @Dana5760 lmao

  • bigger tank..they get 11 inches

  • You will need a much bigger tank after they get a little older. You are definitely going to need a better filter, probably a canister type such as a Fluval. For now, I would recommend getting a Penn Plaxx turtle topper so you can fill the tank all the way to the top to give them more swimming room. Also make sure those rocks aren't small enough to be ingested for obvious reasons. You may want a heater in there if you can't maintain a temperature between 65-75 deg F.

  • what filter do u use?

  • U need a WAY bigger tank dude.

  • how big is your turtles and the tank how many gallons is it

  • Fuck i can't have one because my "Chinese Family" said that Turtle's are bad luck because they're slow and Dumb im 1/4 Chinese But seriously I Want to kill the Chinese in thair belief because they are so Overreacting about turtles and other animals they want me to buy a fucking Flower Horn that Fish sucks because that fish can onle do swimming and feeding stupid fish damn i cant have a cool turtle

    :(

  • nice set up man ....ima steal yo idea

  • U shouldn't put rocks in there because they eat them.. if they can fit in there mouth.. but to me the rocks look small

  • make it easier for them to get up

  • you should get a bigger tank and a large to dock

  • cover your genetals lol

  • they must have already outgrown that tank by now haven't they

  • how much gal.???????????????????

  • how mutch gravel do you have in there

  • dont they dirty such a set up ?? how do u manage 2 clean so mny things in the tank??

they poop a lots..filters are not sufficient...

    how you do cleaning??

  • how long did it take your turtles to grow

  • do they need a heater to keep the water warm?

  • @snaps232425 yup! unless you live in a tropical climate like me :)

  • everything about it is good. the water level is PERFECT! a lot of bozos raise it to an inch from the top, this makes escape cahnces very good for the turtle. DO NOT DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • too much water and put more surfaces becuz they get tired when they swim alot thats how mine died

  • I WISH MY TURTLES WERE THAT BIG. I HAVE TWIO RED EARED SLIDERS AND THEY ARE 3 INCHES. I HAVE THEM IN A 29 GALLON TANK. DO U KNOW ANY FOOD THAT WILL HELP THEM GROW PLEASE REPLY

  • @NIKESRAWESOME123 I'm not sure why you would want them to grow... They will outgrow a 29 gallon aquarium in no time, so unless you want to upgrade your tank sooner,i wouldn't suggest it.. The is no real way tomake them grow, but if you feed them a lot of protein rich foods they will grow quicker, but its dangerous and will cause the shells to become deformed.

  • You should add some fire belly toads

  • Wat size tank is that?

  • Your tank should be at least 18 inches deep and 48 wide. You can find good deals on craigslist

  • where did you get your huge rock? is that natural or plastic? looks very cool. I want something like that.

  • 0:17 the turtle waved

  • LOL your turtle waved!

  • is it hard to maintain the aquarium?

  • Is the log by Zoo med? Do your turtles use it a lot?

  • those turtles need a bigger tank more swimming area

  • 'SUP GUYS IMMA TURTLE!' Hahaha, lovely animals :)

  • are alll of these turtles full grown?

  • @ArchieAnDJB4life I don't think they are they look around 5 inches. They can get up to 12 inches in shell length. 12 inches for females 8 inches for males

  • dude i dont think you should stack up your rocks like that, your turtles are pretty big and they can easily knock one over, i saw it tip a bit in this video!

  • is it normal to have an erection while watching this?

  • @enVme731 Ummm sure? Do turtles do it for ya? lol

  • @ROckDEcoy yes, usually medical oddities but turtles will do

  • what gallon is your tank

  • why do people have to film while people are busy talking in the background. lol

  • i want a turtle! but first i need to sell my piranhas i think, but check my tank on my video and tell me how much gravel i need to buy, if i need a dock,if so where, any fake plants, more stones,or any information plz tell me i rly want a turtle! i have a fluval 206 filter that was expensive so i think i can keep the tank clean, plz tell me what turtle i can have, and look at my tank on my channel so it will be easyer for u to give me info, plz reply quick wanna sell my piranhas.

  • hi please message me on how to care for a baby turtle red ear slider thank you

  • The tank isn't too small but it isn't filled up very much...u can fill it at least 5 more inches then it would be good

  • wayyy to small tank

  • what should i feed my turtles to grow ?????

  • nice

  • 00:13 he waves at you lol

  • love it !!!

  • How did you get them home?

  • quite soon red ear slider will need a much bigger tank. at least 100 gallon. anything less than that is almost cruelty. red ear sliders are the most popular type of turtle by what people dont know is the grow well over ten inches. if you want a smaller turtle go for a razor back musk of just a normal musk hope it helps. good setup for the moment though. they lok healthy :)

  • @trelokiller124 shut up u dick

  • @trelokiller124 Your correct

  • So an RES can easily climb on top of that tower of rocks from out of the water? I have an extremely small setup for my RES right now but I am getting a real tank this weekend...Another question I have is about the pebbles I am using right now. They are rather small, small enough for him to choke on but I originally assumed that that wouldnt be a problem because he wouldnt eat them. AS I know now thats a problem y question is what is the probability that he will try and eat a pebble?

  • Nice. It looked like the little dude waved for the camera.

  • Hey man don't know if someone said this yet or not but you should be careful with that big tower of rocks. It looks pretty cool, but you should glue them together with some aquarium-safe glue. I'd hate to see that topple over one day and smash your tank.

  • im settin my tank up tomorow how much does a filter and under water heater cost?

  • he waved!

  • hi there, i have a midum sizebowl with a baby turtle and 2 small fishes

i want to know 1st , is it okay for the res to stay with fish and not eat them ?

2nd how long can it stay underwater ?

3rd how long should it bask on daily basis ?

and 4th the diet , what should i put for res to eat ?? as pet shop only adv of somthing that looks like dried egg fish ..

    apprciate our feedback

  • @cherrylo0po0 hello to you. RED EAR SLIDERS have the abbility to stay underwater for long periods of time, however they need something to bask on. They like to be most of the time in the water, but hey come out to dry and bask in the light ( keeps them from getting diseases and mold in their shell). If the turtle is a baby there is no problem putting him/her with the fish. You can buy turtle pellets ( NUTRAFIN) it has calcium and vitamins, also you can feed some small vegetables and some insects

  • pleez get a basking dock for your res u save alotta swimming space and that tank is already small for 3 res

  • to Altezza07 no one cares what u think..k so just shut up, not evrey one has thee money to get ea turtle a sepret tank,oh and i like thee tank...mail miiiz,kk

  • Yea yea true not everyone has the money. BUT THATS WHY YOU DONT FUCKING BUY IT. ITS SIMPLE. NO MONEY. NO BUYING. K? I MEAN THE WHOLE CARE OF A TURTLE IS BASED ON MONEY, THEN INTELLECT LOL DURP

  • hey what kind of light is the blue light you have in the tank?

  • omg the turtle waved.

  • LOL, I said the same thing!

  • i think that u need more basking space for the turtles...but over all its pretty good...

  • i thank that too

  • The Turtle Wave He Said Hi To Youtube LMAO!

  • made me so happy XD

  • I know me too.....I was smilling how cute it is huh lol =]

  • Okay, first of all i hate seeing mutiple turtles in a tank. unless its massive and has loads and loads of basking space. Its a lot less "cruel" to keep them in an indoor pond with a good 3 or 4 square foot basking space and a good chunk of deep water. like 2 foot deep and about 2 or 3 square foot . bout the size of a double all together, but a bit higher off the ground for 4 turtles. but 1 turtle would only need half that space, single bed size!

  • You barrely have any basking space

  • how big is the tank?

  • my slider is named squirt too :]

  • cover your genitals loooooooooooooooooooooool

  • Cover your genitals???

  • lol he waved! cant wait till i get my first turtle for my birthday! i have a 30 gallon set up waiting for him do you know if they are like other animals where if the tank is small they stay small or do i have to get a bigger tank for him??

  • wut kind of filter is that.

  • i have one just like it so it is a FLUVAL filter

  • How many gallons?

  • the turtle waved!!

  • yes cover ur genitalia hahahaha whats that about are u nudists or sumin cover ur lil sack so the turtls dont see ur balls loll

  • cover ur genetals!!!

  • u could put them in a pond if u have 1

  • that turtle said hi

  • oh no man , why buy 4 turtles u will have so much truble to ensure big ebnough aquarium, itis hard to do for 1-2 turtles, not to mention 4 of them

  • you must get a 40 g tank because they will be very big

  • yea right you stupid if you have four freakin turtles you need them in at least a 75 gallon tank they get to be about a foot long for each of them

  • haha......."Cover your genitals" haha

  • u do realize that females RES can get up to 13 inches? If u plan on keeping them.. i would start saving up for either a huge tank (125+ gallons) or a stock tank

  • "Cover your genitals"?

  • You do realize that you need BOTH the heat lamp AND the UV lamp, right?

I accompany my turtle with a bunch of guppies, which serve as "emergency food" in case the automatic feeder runs out or otherwise doesn't work somehow.

Also, you may want to add a heating mat under the gravel. I use one of those stick heaters.

Also my turtle's basking area is separate from the tank itself. In fact, the basking area is just about as big as the turtle tank in terms of area.

    Other than that, nice.

  • Actually No, you don't need a UVA/UVB light. You don't need them if you have enough D3 in there diet or you can take them outside to catch some real rays. lol

  • does your turtle like this?

  • My turtle likes the way its tank is set up.

  • nice set up my red eared slider is named scrappy (:

  • mines cat

  • Nice tank!

  • where can i get those big rock??

  • ha turtle said hi

  • to crouded

  • i would add a small cave or plants in the water and you could add a real plant along with a fake plant because the turtles will eat that to as they get hungry but do not put the fake and real plants in the same spot...you do not want the turtles to eat the fake plants because they can die from that.

  • I have a baby one. Its reall small. I found it at a lake at a marina. So I named her marina. I set up her tank today. Looks real good and she keeps squeakin so I guess shes happy.

  • I have a baby red eared slider turtle named Squirt.

  • do turtles hav to hav chlorine remover and filters?

  • I would def get a filter if you don't have one. Or else you'll have to clean it once a week atleast.

  • where do u live? ive tried to order two baby red ear slider 50$ each & both died i live in sc and they cames form florida.

  • i have two turtles. One never eats and the other eats everything, what do i do? i tried taking the other out and moving it to another tank but it still doesn't eat

  • You should take your turtle to the vet. Maybe there's something wrong with your turtle?

  • my turtle died the next morning... TT ^ TT now i'm left with the evil one.... OoO

  • hey let it go at a public pond because it needs natural food it happened to me

  • in oregon they have became an invasive specie and on the news they don't want people to let them go.

  • the same with mine but it has eyeinfection, hope it doesnt have the same faith as urs, 2/3 years ive had them i forget

  • your tank is to small you need atleast 100 gallon better if it was 120

  • dude chillz bro......still stupid law....

  • at 0:17 the first turtle waved

  • I have two red eared sliders, that are both 12 yrs old, one male and female. They are in a 20 gallon tank. How much water should I put in, like half the length of the tank??And is the tanks size too small:P??

  • yes its puny get like 100 gallon if possible, or use a rubbermaid tub if you can't get a glass tank

  • at 0:16 he waves!!

  • hey, i had a question, i have a couple bala sharks, and i was wondering if i could put like a big rock in there for a res in their tank, its a 20 gal long.

  • nahh dude ive never had a problem with the gravel for the past 6 years.. gravel is ok... where did u get baby turtles??

  • HOW OLD ARE YOUR TURTLES?

  • the biggest two there are both 5 years old and the the other two are 4 years old they are brothers (they were born in the same litter or whatever they call it for turtles lol)

  • good setup bro but what gallon is it?

having 4 little guys like you do can create tension aka biting / fighting.. boredom... hmm i believe you can raise the water level so they have more room to swim around

  • THOSE rocks can kill a turtle if he or she gets stuck in it!!!!!!!!

  • aww so cute i i love turtles there cute and it looks like the one on the rock was sayign hey xD

  • are red eard sliders poisones?????

  • No but they can carry salmonella in their bodies, so for owners they take precautions by thoroughly washing their hands or use any other type anti-bacterial soaps.

  • i heard that thier ilegal now cause of those "diseases" omg..... i hate these stupid laws, like this one........ "u cant release a fish that u have had in captivity into the wild, because of the "diseases" you will be releasing into the wild" omg soooo stupid.......

  • Comment removed

  • no not illegal, only illegal if theyre small because you can get salmonella, i believe its turtles with shells under 4 inches, im not sure though

  • can they only give off salmonella when they are young?

  • nope all turtles have slmonela but just wash ur hands before and after u handle ur turtles,

  • i got my turtles from my mom, she got them from some lady who bout them in china town and then they told her they were illegal, they were small, but point is go to china town or something, ak for turtles and i reommend u see the turtle before buying it, make sure its healthy and stuff, and that they are like babies

  • wow i got mine at chine town 2! :D

there not illegal tho i think, there 5ins

  • what size of turtles should I buy...4big or 4 small...I want 4 turtles.

  • listen to yyytyyb , he's put some valid points across. Trust me, 4 RES are too many for that tank. And get UVC light, to produce the daylight the need like vitamin d which is crucial for their health.

  • eya im thinking of getting a turtle but im confused about the lighting and uv etc. is it possible to get a basking light +uva+uvb all in one? can u recomend a certain product?

  • Nice setup. all i can say is that give it some plants (fake ones recommended) to stimulate their habitat and such.

also if you still want to use gravel get some bigger ones (big enough so that they wont put them in their mouths.

  • ok will do, thanx for the comment. cheers!

  • yess. right buddy

  • you know i like the fake plant idea.. but it seems like my turtles hate them. :[ they keep digging it up.. ive seen them both try to dig it out as soon as i put it back in!! T__T so tedious.. should i just take it out all together D: ?

  • Actualy mines have been doing that too recently idk why but they're now behind my big rock so they cant reach. thinking of getting real plants now cause they're trying to eat the fake ones.

  • u can also go to ur pet store and get real ones that they can eat, RES's do munch on them and its goood for them just search the ones they should eat and just make sure they are perisite free

  • u can also go to ur pet store and get rall ones that they can eat, RES's do munc on them and its goood for them just search the ones they should eat and just make sure they are perisite free
