I no longer recommend Virtual PC for a linux virtual machine solution. VMWare and Virtualbox are much better alternatives with better native support for linux.
gr8 work mate...but it didn't work w/ me....a step failed:"select and install software"...
i have 2 hard disks ... one w/ windows....i install this ubuntu on the other hard disk away from C...does that affect....???plz reply cuz it is my project...u can mail me:
You can install a virtual machine on other than your primary hard drive, so that's not the problem. I would suggest googling ubuntu "select and install hardware" and seeing if any of the suggestions help. You may need to post into one of the ubuntu or vmware forums to troubleshoot this.
It's not really necessary. For GUI-based machines like Windows XP or Vista, it provides some video and mouse improvements, but for server, you won't see much difference.

That's outside the scope of my tutorials. Google ubuntu server raid and you'll find resources that will address how to do this.

hey mate, when im using VMware it says in the bar below: You do not have VMware Tools installed.
could you please let me know if i need "VMware Tools" and where to find the install.
