You can do that because you don't fully "extend" the arm and leave it "mid way". As if you were doing a classical push up, and only went halfway instead of going full. It's what you are doing.

I put my legs shoulder length apart and was actually able to get down to 90 degrees, but not enough strength to return. am almost at shoulder width form!

I noticed the closer bring my arms together, the better my triceps become blasted and my elbows are at my side. I noticed that the wider my arms are, my chest gets worked more and less tricep. I just checked mine, the feet are a little bit more apart than the shoulder width - about 15cm - that's very good already cause most people have them apart much more to compensate lacking strength in the arms. In my video the feet are much more apart cause I have to keep balance while switching from one arm to another. For "normal" one-armed push-ups they'd be spread too wide. BUT there is no rule. Start easy, increase carefully,son

im 14, i first did like 25 before i could at least do 1 1handpushup but really hurts like hell so i waited untill i could do 37 then i cud do like 4 and it didnt hurt.i also use to put my kid brother on my back n do 15. he wieghed 30 lbs. it takes hrd painful work
