I thought Snake's last battle ended in Metal gear solid 4 because that's what it seemed like that he was going to retire and past the torch to Raiden because he is too sick ad he got too old and their is no one else to take down after Liquid... What if MGS5 takes place in WWII because big boss was around then and maybe the cobra unit will be involved. In mgs3 snake wasn't surprised about the superpowered cobra unit so he probably dealed with supernatural enemies earlier like idk the bosses in mgs5 could be Hitler's henchmen and since he was obsessed with the supernatural they probably had powers? Just a theory. Also it would coincide with when he first met the boss and first became an agent.

So why does everyone call this MGO3? This should be in fact, MGO5 if it comes out. Have you guys forgotten about the other two most popular games, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops +? Two online installments for mgs that was for PSP. We basically called it MPO and MPO+ .

In the early development of Peace Walker, they actually codenamed PW, MGS5. The complete name is: Metal Gear Solid 5, Peace Walker

Example: Metal Gear Solid 2, Sons of Liberty

Even your point that he should play Peace Walker before talking is void because you dont need to play a game to know if it's the successor or not. Here a simple example: After Assassin's Creed I and Assassin's Creed II they released Brotherhood and now Revelations. Do you think that they're going to call their next game Assassin's Creed V? xD

I'm done playing as Solid Snake and I think his story has officially ended. Hopefully we get more backstory on a few other things like:

Big Boss after Peacewalker

Philosophers and the Legacy

The Boss/Joy story explained

The Patriots' falling apart

Creation of Gray Fox

I think there's just alot of things that MGS5 could do.

I am so excited you can not even believe it. Metal Gear Solid is my favorite video game series of all time and I'm glad I had the privilege of playing it. Through my life I have never played a game that has been so epic, emotional, and just plain amazing. Every game has truly impressed me and each one feels like more than just a game to me. It's something truly special that I'm glad to be a part of it. When I first heard about MGS5 being confirmed, I lost it too. I truly cannot wait. :)

So if there is a game being developted by Hideo it is MGS6 (and i tought Kojima said he would retire from making MGS games...)
