Maybe it's in the rules they have to use a turbo now, but back in the good old days lancia had a compound turbo engine with a supercharger and turbo bolted on.

@100zeeno a supercharger has boost so a dump valve can be fitted plus they dont produce anywhere near as much heat as a turbo so more boost can be used and the turbines are turned buy belts rather than exhaust fumes so u dont get any lag like u would do with big turbo so it is probably worth them money

It was done to be different. Yes you could just strap a bigger turbo on, but it would produce zero boost until about 3000rpm+ depending how big it was. The whipple supercharger can produce full boost at near idle.
Ideally you could run this supercharger and a big fuck off turbo together, but it would take quite abit of sorting out as very few people run that sort of set up any more. ps what faster cars have you had than the pulsar as even a mildy tuned one can hit 60 in 3.9s
@damnusename i had a fwd 280 bhp pug 205 turbo and once it stopped spinin it would easily beat any standard evo,subaru,pulsar,cossie,gt4 any standard 4wd turbo but enough about that i respect what you have built i almost bought one but then my mate offered me his pug and i couldnt refuse currently i own a 250 bhp r5 turbo which would give these cars a run for its money aswell
@100zeeno It would give a standard pulsar a run for it's money as they only have 215bhp as standard and weigh more than the 205 (1220kg minimum) However give the gtir the same power and it would be much closer even though you still have a massive weight advantage and transmission loss advantage. Launching from a standstill is where the gtir has a major advantage and 0-60 in under 4sec only takes 280bhp minimum.
The gtir in this video is someone's I know, not mine incase you thought it was.
@damnusename gutted yeah the 205 struggled with traction of the mark i wouldnt even boot it in the rain spun in fourth it had a 1.6 gearbox so it only did about 145 mph in a short distance it was very quick tho what sort of power was the pulsar runnin?
