What's with many of the negative comments regarding the singer? Arnel Pineda's voice actually matches those of Steve Perry, and he was responsible for rejuvenating the band while turning millions of Filipinos as Journey fans overnight And yet the video receives 955 likes versus only 15 dislikes. I understand that many of you grew up with the first guy, but I too loved classic rock for a long time as does the group and both singers.

realize one thing, however things have worked out, Steve Perry is the sole reason Arnel Pineda is where he is today. While Perry built what Journey is today, Arnel has simply had to refine his skills at cloning the sound Steve made iconic.

Ill be honest. Im a diehard Journey fan, and the only thing I dont like about Pineda is that he cuts words off short. I hope im not the only one to notice, but on alot of words, like the last one in a chorus, when he stops you can hear the rest of the band. Its just not ....the normal sound. I dont know if he cant carry some tones very long, or chooses not to, but it makes him sound like an ametuer.

Any real musician knows that in terms of vocal prowess, Arnel is hands down WAY WAY WAY and WAY better than Steve Perry. You need to understand that Journey has been known and loved by fans because of that tenor voice of Steve Perry BUT, Arnel can give that PLUS more... the charisma, and the energy level. Watch their concert videos and you will see what I mean.
