  • I might be getting another tonk and name it the same name as my old tonk. Thai, you will be missed.

  • 1:02-1:14 scared me! at 0:30-1:01 I was like "Don't do you DARE jump off that"! But, like the title says, it did jump off.... but I didn't expect it to be that high...

  • Thanks for upload this vid of your beautiful Tonkinese. That meow is really saying something.

My Tonkinese used to jump/climb up high & she never broke a thing.

One day I will get another Tonk they really are the best.

  • His meow is so sweet, I want a Tonk :P

  • OMG It's so so cute!

  • hehehe, my cat does the same and he is a siamese like that.

  • I really want a cat and Tonkinese seems like a really great breed. Vocal, extroverted and playful... NOT TO MENTION STUNNING OMG

Does anyone know if they're sensitive to illness?

  • Do they meow a lot?

  • Tonkinese can be quite a vocal breed, but not usually as piercing (or obnoxious!) as Siamese (with love, I've owned & loved both). They are known to love a good chat though. Wonderful cats!

  • HECK YEAH! I used to own one. Then, he passed away. :'(

  • My Molly (Whos a Tonk too)

    Does this all the time.

I just read its good to get them a really high scratching post so it can climb. They are so adventurist.

    Gotta love them.

  • my Tonk mix is an adventurer and WOULD do something like that!!

  • Shes just like mine :P

I have a chocolate tortie point, just as naughty!

  • the two best breeds in one. love em

  • cute :-*

  • I always had to rescue my Tonk whenever he did that.

  • I have my tonkinese, Kira, on my lap watching this.. she's not too happy! Oh but I am, Aki is cute :)

  • when I first watched Burmese and Siamese videos on youtube, my Burmese came running and first tried to crawl into the screen upfront, then jumped the desk and searched for the cats behind the screen. :)

And it was less curiosity but more worries/unhappiness about other cats being in his home :)

  • my tonkinese looks just like that...but fatter

  • MOWW!! that's adorable!

  • My Tonks Will and Grace are exactly like that! Will looks a lot like you're kitty and sounds like yours too!

  • my tonk used to jump up in high places...but has gained a little weight and aged and stays closer to the ground now

  • tonks are great.very clean and when they get to high spots very agile. my tonk has a place we call Fort Tonk, it is very high and he can get up and down at will.

  • i have a tonkinese cat exactly like that!

    his name is yoshi :)

  • I want to get a tonk, but am a afraid to because i don't want a cat that jumps up high an pushes my things over. Does you cat do this often?

  • It really depends on the cat. My tonk Aki likes to jump to high places and sometimes breaks things but my other tonk Ari isn't much of a climber. My sister has two tonks too which are the nephews Ari and Aki. One of them likes to climb and the other one doesn't as much. I've noticed that a tonk with more burmese in him/her won't climb as much, being more husky than a slender tonk who is more siamese.

  • It's hard to say. Mines pretty darned smart... So I can show him things and he knows he can't go there. Like the time I caught him trying to sit on my flat screen, because he was used to the old giant monitor.. Just had to lift him for him to take a peek. Once his curiousity is settled, he's good. But he DOES have other places to sit. He loves out fridge, and the door right next to it.

  • i have a tonkinese cat her name is Jazmine she look just like ur but older my cat is 6 yrs old

  • pretty cat

  • That's just like my Tonk! Love to climb on top of the kitchen cabinets. She is also watching this video as I type. She heard your cat and came running. HA!

  • Aki is so cute. Just the sort of trouble that a cheeky tonk would get himself into!

  • Is Aki the only cat/Tonk in the home?

My girl's 4 months now and has confiscated my teddy(from the top shelf of wardrobe)and I'm very concerned about whether she needs a feline playmte.I admit I'm a little over tired and my life is now dominated utterly by her whims and needs, can't even leave for more than 3 hours without an urgent call-"Lungs" is her nickname.HELP!!!!

  • I have another tonk too named Ari, he's Aki's older half brother. Ari was pretty wild until I got Aki...now they play together and don't really need complete attention from people so much. So I suggest you get another tonk!

  • thanks-she's been spayed but the swelling is very large-the wound's clean, she went beserk the 1st night with the "bucket",I fear it's fluid or a hernia, probably fluid-vet says.

She's costing a fortune so another Tonk has gotten out of reach $ for a while.

Would a moggie be up to it/Her I mean?I'm getting desperate but need every cent for her until I know she doesn't need another op.

    BTW she's 5 months now.

  • Well if you can't afford another tonk you could get another less expensive cat (or free from the shelter) just as long as its not a lazy type (like a Persian) because they wouldn't be up for playing as much as a tonk.

  • Thanks, yes I'm in touch with a wonderful adoption centre having explained exactly the type of cat we need.($130-desexed,chipped,etc.)

My Burmese died of cancer and then all this,it's into the $1000's now and I need to have a fund for Lily(just in case),insurance perhaps as well.

Lily was a rescue from a "breeder"-she had flu, pneumonia, got better then bang, heat and even that had complications-cysts.

  • my cat wud have jumped off and hit the camera my cat is really dumb and a tonk cat!!

    lolzzzzz

  • our tonk as well!!!

  • my new 3mth old baby just flew at the computer then and is looking for your Tonk, meowing like crazy, little heart pounding-I best not do that again to her

  • That is one GORGEOUS cat!!

  • My natural solid tonk does exactly the same thing!! Always getting into high places and whining about not being able to get down. They're so similar in voice and appearance . . . eerie !!

  • scloete-do you have just the one cat?

  • We have two tonks, but there was a 3 month period when only one cat was in the house. That was pretty hard, I know where you're coming from !! Tonks love other cats, you should get one.

  • thanks scloete-also,get this,@ 4 months old she's come into heat!!It's 6am after the 2nd night with no sleep.

She had a procedure today, yesterday!,to bring on the release of the egg, paws crossed.

It's too dangerous to spay her at this time due to the fact it seems now her flu'd gone to pneumonia-I "rescued' her from a "breeder",long, disgusting story.(RSPCA)

    Yes,when she's spayed(otherwise very well,NOW) I have to get her a big surprise.Thanks.

  • lol his meows

  • Aki is so pretty!
