heres the true facts about the harp hunt that all you morons need to learn. the seal hunt was banned in canada for 2 decades.. and durring this time, the harp seals population grew uncontrollably large, and they began over eating canadas northern fisherys, and upsetting the balance in the ecosystems they resided in... so canada started up a controlled and monitored hunt to limit their offspring and keep our ecosystems in check... it isnt nice to look at, but is completly necessary

My solution is making the fishermen aware they no long need to financially struggle trying to eek out a meager existence in a dead industry. The Alberta Tar-sands projects are starving for labor. Fishermen could be making twice as much as they are now. $100,000 is the average income of a Tar-sands employee. The choice to stay is financial suicide.
Don't worry we are winning. The price of seals went to 1/2 of last year, so less seal of them can kill seals. The European Union is moving to ban the seal trade in all of Europe. More than 100 of the seal murderers' boats got trapped in ice last year (5 boats were lost this year also) and the coast guard had to spend a lot of Canada's taxpayer money for rescue The price of fuel is sky high now, so they will soon be making zero profits! Plus 4 sealers were killed by the coast guard this year :)
if ricochets are a problem use frangible ammunition or low caliber ammo that won't go through the seal
