This is awesome! It's perfect for cut-out cookies but the cookies taste a little bland, I would suggest adding 1/4 cup of regular granulated sugar to sweeten it up! After all, they are sugar cookies! :)
Remember - When making substitutions in baking, you may end up with a somewhat different product. The taste, moisture content, texture and weight of a product can be affected by changing ingredients.
Can you hand mix? is there a recipe for gingerbread and frosting and the sugar cookie recipe that lets you hand mix INSTEAD of using a stand mixer??????????? can somebody please answer !!!
@bayiravimani it should be powered just looking at the consistency, you can see that powdered sugar is different from granulated sugar, granulated sugar looks like sugar (crystal form) and powdered well it's basically powder...
Thank you very much for the recipe. I'm 11 years old. And I just got into baking somehow. I love baking now. I just want to say thank you very much for the recipe
@ThePinkrose33 Cream of Tartar Substitute - The answer is, there is not a good substitution. If cream of tartar is used along with baking soda in a cake or cookie recipe, omit both and use baking powder instead. If it calls for baking soda and cream of tarter, I would just use baking powder.
@holidaykitchen Remember - When making substitutions in baking, you may end up with a somewhat different product. The taste, moisture content, texture and weight of a product can be affected by changing ingredients.
@ThePinkrose33 Normally, when cream of tartar is used in a cookie, it is used together with baking soda. The two of them combined work like double-acting baking powder. When substituting for cream of tartar, you must also substitute for the baking soda. If your recipe calls for baking soda and cream of tarter, I would just use baking powder.
Can you tell me the exact amount for the butter ? Cuz the butter i got is kinda thick , like 500g a stick .. no way i'll use 1000g for sugar cookies .. o_o that's fattening >< :3 thanks
@BumKpopluv76 FYI, the text recipes can be found by clicking on the "show more" tab under the video. This recipe calls for 16 tablespoons of butter. You can find a grams to converter online.
umm i made this recipe and i used the exact measurments and ingredients i did it by hand when it came 2 the dough (adding the wet to dry ingredents it become flaky and dry so i added some milk it became good when i took it out of the oven i tryed it it tasted fairly good but they were flakey and dry.....What did i do wrong?????
@izzythedancer The key here is that you made it by hand -- the standing mixer will mix more aggressively and better incorporate the ingredients. Do you have a hand held mixer? If not, you can still use your hands just keep on beating until the mixture holds up. They cookies are a bit crumbly, as they are sugar cookies, but they should still hold a shape. Definitely try beating longer if you're beating by hand and see if that helps.
I...I actually made cookies that taste fine. I'm 12 and I can't believe it. Its the first time I've deliberately made good tasting cookies. I had once made cookies that I didn't think would taste nice they turned out fine by accident. But this time I knew they would turn out good, AND THEY DID!

I just made a batch of heart shaped cookies with red sugar on top for my daughter's class Valentine celebration - they turned out delicious! I am a novice baker and I was very impressed by the ease of making these. This recipe is a keeper! Thank you for sharing!
I believe so. ;) I just mixed them together without the machine and it didn't come out good, so I add in another egg and half a cup of water . It still taste sweet, though for further outcome, I'm not so sure. but you should try it out now and see if you like the result or not.
"Divide the dough into half and cover. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. You need to refrigerate it so when cutting it it wouldnt tear. its like "gaining strength" Dough style. the other half will be automatically cut and put in. Once those are done.. let cool and get the other half and repeat.
@Dollygirl12345 Nice attempt at looking smart. It says to split it in half and refrigerate both halves. This cools it down faster and allows you to store away one half if you don't want to make too many cookies. You refrigerate it so it won't tear. Why would you use the unrefrigerated portion if it will tear? Also why would the video show both dough halves on top of plastic wrap ready to be wrapped and stored in the fridge? Common sense... something you don't have.

Why would you need to preheat the oven to 375 degrees in the beginning if you have to refridgerate the dough for 30 minutes? =P
KhMErTRiAd 2 years ago 74
@KhMErTRiAd Well, your oven still needs to be preheated sometime. When you do it (before or after refrigeration) is up to you.
Maholain 1 year ago 13
Preheating it before refrigeration would be a complete waste of electricty.
