I don't think those were 3lb five inch salutes. The first one is definately bigger than that. The next ten I am pretty sure are bigger. I heard a rumor that they were all 19.5lb each. Don't know who could verify that but I don't think standard 5" salutes would be that loud.

The salutes were Kilobombs. Each held 2.2 lbs of flash. The effect is called 1-10-100 for the number of Kilobombs fired on each of three cues.

That was 100 3# 5's, Ive been to 24 conventions and that was by far the loudest thing Ive ever heard
