  • @SuperYT4Ever Politically speaking, you're an a-hole.

  • 我是华人,所以当我跟朋友说话的时候就会说的很快. 学华语是有一定的难度,难就难在写华文. 但我相信有志者,事竟成. 身为华人的我,有时候也会忘记怎么写. 大家不要忘了华语还有分简单和传统的. 还好我的国家选择让我们读简单的,要不然就会要我的命呀.

I am Chinese, so I will talk in a fast pace when talking to my friends. Learning chinese will definitely have certain difficulties, difficulties are writing Chinese words. But, I believe Where there is a will, there is a way. Sometimes, I might forget how to write certain words even though I am Chinese. Don't forget that Chinese has two version. Mine is simplified.Lucky.

  • Thanks. =)

I already knew how to say all this, but I wasn't sure if it was correct. =D

  • @ChrissySnow it's just a silly, annoying and overused referenced to a game called Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

  • @SuperYT4Ever that's a little harsh :P . and there's not alot of illiterate people in china, you would only know that if you lived there and knew alot of people from there, but it sounds like you dont. personally i like listening to songs in all different languages, it's relaxing and beautiful :) , you should try to be open minded, it's great :D !

  • @SuperYT4Ever Troll detected*

  • oh come on, chinese is probably like really not that hard to learn. At least it has much lesser stinking grammar rules such as "you need to put -s or -es in the verb to signify that it is a present tense, use mine or yours to show possession, antecedents, pronouns, blah". Hahahaha, LOlz. No seriously, try learning it, you'll say that it's just another piece of cake.

Been there done that. Now I'm learning Japanese!!! Whoohoo!!!

  • Sorry- it is MANDARIN IS NOT MY MOTHER TONGUE

  • For those who are interested in chinese language, culture and history, and also the how mandarin came to be the official language of china.Go to google, and type in MANDARIN IS NOT MY MOTHER TOUNGUE. I tried to post the link, but it didn't work.I'd like people to post their opinion and let me know what you think. Thanks

  • mandrin?

  • The english transliterations used to teach cantonese years ago are much more practical, and much closer to the original english letter.I think they should start using that system for westerners.

  • I wish that they would get rid of the pin yin system. It is very confusing to the westerner. If they are going to use the roman alphabet, then it should at least approximate the actual sounds of the letters. For instance Y should be Y as in YES or Yesterday, not J sound as in Joe.Q as in Quit or Ventrilaquist, not ch sound as in change.R as in Run,not as in the last part of PLEASURE,.Theses are just a few examples.I think westerners would learn much quicker.Learning pin yin sound slows down progress

  • 私の名前はスティーブンです。私はロシア語です

  • what are the arrows for?

  • @forkfour those are the tones, google them.

  • @forkfour for the sound of the word, in chinese we have four sounds.

  • @forkfour tones,they has 4 tones....

  • Thank you, this really taught me nothing.

  • @FzDarkStaR Mandarin is a dialect of chinese. Cantonese is also a dialect.

  • @FzDarkStaR yes, it's mandarin

  • lol i am learning english and chinese at the same time hey is this mandarin?? cuz i am confused chinese = mandarin ?? please answer

  • @FzDarkStaR Madarin and Cantonese were considered 2 different languages back then, but due to the complicated history of China, Mandarin became the official language of China, and it gained the name "Chinese" in English. So now you can consider Cantonese as a different dialect of Chinese, but it's really not. If you talk to a person whose native language is Cantonese, and he's never learned Mandarin, he won't be able to understand it at all.

  • Comment removed

  • @FzDarkStaR But people always teach you Mandarin.

  • OMG!!!! I was capable of understanding without reading the subtitles!!!! :D :D :D

    YEI!!!!

  • In fact, very interesting characters!

  • cannot tell yet whether she has a Shanghai accent or not!

  • She says she's from Shanghai but totally has no silly Shanghai accent.

  • "Jiao" look like korean characters lol

  • I totally needed this to help with my tones!

  • Interesting but it is a very strong language, it doesn't sound romantic at all

  • @lauraftk Think again pal! Find some poems to read, soon you'll find Chinese very soft and gentle, not very strong at all

  • I wish that there was a translation.

  • @franfungal they both say "ni hao" to each other (hello) in the beginning. The guy says "我叫Mark, 你呢?“ (I'm Mark, and you?" the girl says: "我叫王文欣” I'm Wang Wen Xin. She then asks "Are you American?" and he says "No, I'm canadian" he asks her "Are you from Beijing?" the girl says "no, I'm Shanghainese" he says "Shang hai is beautiful. I like Shanghai" then she says "Your Chinese is very good!"

  • WO QIAO NI DE MA!!! : P

  • I have one question and one comment..First- i'm hearing an r sound to the word ren.R as in Robert. However, some of my mandarin friends hear it and pronounce it as a G sound as in the second G of the garage.Or even something between G and Z sound. But certainly not R...Am i the only one that hears it like an R as in RUN or Robert?..Secondly,Chinese is NOT a language.Just as Mexican or American is not a language. The internet is full of these errors, and it's usually from the mandarin speaking people

  • @loksinsan hmmm, it's probably because of their accent. The correct pronunciation is REN. The R as in Run or Rent. haha. Just like English, there's a lot of kinds of accent. Everyone pronounces it differently but the meaning remains the same. :D

  • @loksinsan

So much people speaks mandarin, around 1 billion speakers. Then I think each place the people has your specific accent.

I know some chineses, because many chineses live, here, in Brazil.

Well, I can perceive, chineses cant speak words with R in portuguese correctly, they use L instead R. So, I think the R of "ren" really has a sound like between G and Z. I hear it too.

  • @loksinsan @lucaspriest Yeah, you both are correct. Actually mandarin R is something between english retroflex R and G sound as in the second G of garaGe, but also in a retroflex way.

  • xixi

  • I hadn't realized just how musical this language is. This just makes it so beautiful. I'm absolutely going to learn it. And to those who say it is difficult, realize that Chinese is spoken by more than a billion people... and I'm sure not all of them are geniuses.

  • Lol, it's not to hard. I'm taking a class in high school and we are planning on going to China in April, I am very excited.

    Xi Jian!

  • One of the Vice Principals of the University of Dundee, Professor James Calderhead, had on at least two occasions referred to an ethnic Chinese lecturer at the University, Dr. Janet Liao, as a "Chink." If that isn't racist, I don't know what is. There are plenty more people like James Calderhead in Dundee. AVOID this university if you are Asian.

  • wo ai ni! ... I Love You!

  • I love this language! I wish I had time to learn it.

  • @carolaortiz58 It is an amazing language!

You'll actually be surprised that it doesn't take as long as you think, especially if you practice the PinYin song once a day (which only takes about 3-5 minutes). After a few months of that, you'll be speaking sooner than you thought!

  • @LearnChineseWithEase What's the pinyin song? Can you link me to it please if there is one on Youtube? I am currently learning Chinese :)

  • @ReeBeanRee Sure, I tried to put the link directly in this post for you, but it wasn't allowed! You can see the link pretty easily on my channel comments.

Hope that's what you're looking for!

  • 說時了嗎。來了!!

and lmao@onthemoney it's not pictures it's a categorization system and it's very simple and logical. it's less about memoring and more about understanding the basic building blocks that you construct on the fly.

  • all these lines and thins are difficult. but i want to learn chinese!

  • @straaler2 You might consider learning the simplified characters first & then move on to traditional characters. At least, I found it much easier this way.

  • wtf

  • On December 24 at 8:00 in the morning,a young 14 year old boy by the name of Scott Johnson was found died.Doctors couldn't come up with the cause of his death. His mother checked his email to see if she could figure out what happened.Turns out he was still signed into myspace. She found he had gone to sleep after he read and didn't repost a chain letter. If you don't repost this to six videos a girl with no face will kill you tonight.Sorry don't want to die

  • @ayeyomomma CHAIN. FAIL.

  • mandarin or cantonese people?? Im a pure beginner. So i don't know the difference

  • @female115 Go Mandarin. There are more Mandarin speakers in the world, and it will be more useful to you. Madarin is spoken in mainland China, and Cantonese is spoken in Hong Kong. Mao Ze-dong spoke Mandarin, Jackie Chan speaks Cantonese. That's enough info to help you figure out what you want. Make your own decision though :)

  • @female115 mandarin besginner?

  • i'm a chinese, in my opinion, this video is not suitable for beginners, it ignores many important things of chinese, so the lesson becomes harder.

  • Everyone should read about the "Absolute Pitch" and Asians' ability to recognize musical tones and notes better than non-Asians. It's fascinating.

  • trying to learn chinese is like trying to learn incomplete sentences. even though i'm part chinese/filipino, i can only speak english unfortunately. i grew up in america and my parents only speak english so that is why. >_>

  • @kittencat2223

There's no difference. "America" is called "Beautiful Country" in a literal translation, hence why it has no difference.

  • Believe me English is a lot simpler than Chinese

  • Im American but i was born in Taiwan.

So i can speak both chinese and english

  • What's the difference between Mei-America and Mei-beautiful? I've noticed that they both have the same pinyin annotations, and are the same word...help?

  • Chinese so much easier for me than Spanish or any other language than my own American English

    I don't even understand the Queen's or(british) English

  • @angelzplay2000 "chinese so much easier for me".. are you sure you speak american english?

  • In my opinion Chinese is harder than Japanese...just saying

n o simples falar, mas todas as regras =D

  • How chinese language was CREATED

Once a chinese dropped a pan downstairs...and how the pan echoed chinese language was born...TING TANG TONG

  • @XRanger1000 But! How was he chinese before chinese was created?

  • @ConlangFan ok a short man with tiny eyes dropped a pan downstairs....are u happy now ???? :)

  • Great lesson. Keep up the good work. Thank you .

  • Jin wasn't kidding when he said, "Y'all gonna learn chinese...when the pumps come out yall gonna wanna speak chinese".... New paradigm shift on the horizon....American had its day....LMAO....byeeeee

  • @DM042011 Chinese was created for the Cave Man & gradually improved on for thousands of years., till today. So everyone is forced to speak like the Caveman. If China wants to be understood in the world, it needs to update, change and rework it's language from the Dinosaurs!!!!

  • @onthemoney90 dude, i think you never tried to learn chinese. after one year i can say, it's not harder to learn, than every other language. so shut up.

  • @whiteprints91 mate, I go to business school in france with about 50 other chinese in some of my classes. They've been taking french for years and still have difficulties with it. For english speakers to learn a language that is not latin based is quite difficult for most. And vice versa for others.

  • @whiteprints91

Nope it is. In fact, you're just learning elementary level Chinese. Highschool Chinese is a lot harder. We natives use lots of slangs and also tons of 'ancient' Chinese words. Try reading '古文‘. If you say you can understand it, then really it's not hard. Let me assure you that it's impossible for you to read it. English is by far, the most easiest language to learn for me.

  • @Samhiuys

erm … i don't learn Highschool Chinese, whatever this is, i'm studying sinology. learning mandarin chinese ist the main part of my study. but i would still affirm, that learning chinese is not harder than learning russian, or japanese, or whatever …

  • @DM042011 Educate who? A language 3,000 years old in the 21'st century? Symbols DON'T relate to written words which speak in CAVEMANs language. A language with 100,000's pictures needed to speak properly. Who's description of terminology is anarchic (eg. bricks on top with window, roof and water = " A HOUSE"!!! it's a ball of nonsense! CHINA NEEDS TO REWORK IT'S HOSTILE LANGUAGE to 21st century and not BE IN STONE AGE. It's outrageous to foist such a language on Chinese people and the WORLD!

  • @onthemoney90

China knows itself what China and chineses need. They still keeping their old language and don't have any problem. This characters are unique and archaic. A lot of people have learned chinese. Of course they made a lot of efforts. But there is some beauty in that. If you want to learn you will learn. If does not than you'll say some pretences.

  • @onthemoney90

Knowing old Chinese makes you even more educated. Why should we Chinese make Chinese easier for you to learn? If your mind is unable to comprehend the Chinese language, then so be it. You think it's more modern to just use easy basic words? You're uneducated much. 死on9仔。

  • @Samhiuys well, isnt that racist? Shouldnt we all be able to communicate better in order to strive as a species? If one group has found a way to create one thing more practically and efficienty, we shoulld all embrace it. Dont be a sour puss about it. China has many values and ideas that can help the world, and weather its intelligence or education, sharing the knowledge is whats important. And its just about the making the process of sharing better. Its not a pissing contest.

  • @MrVlada011

I'm being racist? Look, I'm Chinese and it's OUR language. If you want to, then LEARN our language to communicate with us. Isn't racist you English speakers FORCE everyone to learn English. Sharing the better huh? You want to learn of our culture and stuff, but if we degrade our own language for you guys that destroys our culture you dumbass. Don't you understand what that guy is saying? He is insulting our language just because he can't comprehend it.

  • 1:15 sound like she say bullshit! lol

  • The mandarin Is confusing like this " ni hao " ( You Good ) Actually in chinese is (Hello) so if u put ni hao ma it means { how are you ) is it in mandarin ( You Good?) No sense?
