this map is huge, I'm sure that it's not laggy because there are no other factions except one enemy and no ships except starting, also I will give you a look on my map, which I have taken from the real world - the galaxy in which we are living:D I have also made a test for this game, for my surprise in the beginning of my clash everything was running soooo fast, that it was unbelievable, also I have set large fleets option, but then after a few hours you can see how much laggy it became..
at teh bottom of the map selector meny there is a button that lets u change what maps are visible from small senarios to huge. small senarios usually have 1 solar system and huge usually has about 3 or 4 per map and u can make ur own maps with galaxy forge as well
@Nick3889 no Stardock made levels are this big and the largest you can quick start is six systems, he must have made this map on custom, this map is the largest ive ever seen and i dont think my computer could take it, or am i deeply underestimatin my computer, probalbly
I've made a couple of my own maps about that size (about 15-20 stars) but I play through them I never take over the entire map. I always get bored around the half way point and start a new game. To conquer half of the map is about 15-20 hours of playing time.
how do i travel to other galaxy's i got that thing for longer jump and stuff and i saw my seeker once going to another galaxy but how do i send my fleet to another one?
I agree, the only thing that bothers me a little is the way they did the star systems. Have you noticed that the planets don't ever move, and when you zoom out far enough from the star systems, they look like galaxies. I think if you are going to do a 4x game on such a small level the planets should move in their orbits, also there are no gas giants. That's really nitpicky stuff though, it's a great game.
The background is determined by the closest star, and you can choose the colours of stars you want with the galaxy editor, so sort of, yeah. If you wanted a particular skybox, you could just build a custom galaxy (very easy to do) with all stars of a certain colour.
Man, I wish I had better graphics/systems/etc. so I could get that high-resolution shit on my laptop...fucking slow on start-up but not much lagging so it's cool.
well I didn't think of inceasing the quality so maybe....

I normally play games like Galciv2, Space Empires 5, Med Total war 2, so compared to those games, this game is a 'No Brainer' I was told it compared to those games, and it doesn't in any way, but if u play hhomeworld or starcraft which I dont coz they are no brainers, then you will love this.
Jacksoban, with a comment like that, I can see who is truly missing a brain :)
That's not necessarily true, Sins is a very epic game, it's sort of a real-time MOO. It's not as detailed as Space Empires or Galciv2 but those games overcomplicate things, at the end of the day this is a very nice game that isn't just about real time tactics but also has a very good strategic element to it. Actually the battles can be so one sided that it's really your strategy and resource management that usually wins the day.
yeah thats pretty damn epic. This is like supreme commander in outer space basically. The game is really awesome to play, but damn it takes forever to conquer.
Also, if players played a map this big online, yeah it'd take a month or so, but whats cool is if you have committed buddies you can save online games!! Thats sick I think!

Long distance jumps only work from star to star. Travel to the systems star and then click to travel to the target star.
andym3287 2 years ago
@garatzu11 get near a star, use it's gravitational pull to slingshot you out of your solar system

Yeah, this is one thing I like about it. It's not an RTS. It's a 4X game that is real-time.

There are gas giants. You just can't colonize them.

There is no limit. I run a 21 system map all the time. Thou I tend to keep them small, about 10 planets a piece.
