  • Great song, at least there is someone else that realize his name is Jehovah!

  • brought chills all over my body! when i was a child my grand after use to sing this every Sunday before he preach oh i miss him! great song! brought tears to my eyes!

  • Now this is CHURCH!!! these new preachers don't know CHURCH

  • The Lord of Hosts Loves us so! Amen!

  • yes sir oldie but goodie take me home!

  • This takes me back to when I was a child growing up in a Baptist Church. How I wish for those days again when you could feel the Holy Spirit when a deacon actually got up sung a hymn and then prayed. When I want to feel close to Jesus I sing this Hymn. What a blessing!

  • I did not grow up in the church and I'm not very familiar with these songs...my church is more of a modern church but whenever I hear songs like this they usher me into the presence of God more than any of the modern music....Feeed me Lord! Thank you Jesus. I love you Jesus!

  • Child, this how we sing it down here in Florida. The melody he's using, we would sing with the words of "What a friend we have in Jesus".

  • Man this take me back to when I was at that little old Baptist Church. Im just 22 now, but music has evolved so much since then. Although I am in a COGIC church now, I like to pay homage to my baptist roots.

  • @microspanish cogic and Baptist are basically the same thing. just the order or service changes.

  • Single handed the best church song after amazing grace....

  • YESSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSS!!!!!

    OHHHHHH YEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

  • This take me back when I was a child at Brown Chapel Baptist Church...Those Deacons could sure Lift Devotion..My My My..

  • This is much like the 7 note Sacred Harp Singing of the old time Primitive Baptist and even in churches of Christ. It still is alive in N Alabama and other parts of the country.

  • My favorite hymn since I was a little girl in church! So moving feed me till i want no more!! So comforting in sleepless nights.

  • Love it!!!! Thanks so much for posting these old Hymns!!!! God Bless U!

  • This is one of my favorite hymns, and it's sung beautifully here.

  • THIS SONG GIVES ME GOOSE BUMPS....

  • i dont believe in jesus or any prophet but i defently believe HE believes in him..GREAT

  • Sounds like some of the Primitive Baptist deacons.....at the South Florida Primitve Baptist Church School convention

  • Yes SA!!!!!

  • Sing man sing!!!!!

  • PRAISE JEHOVAH!

  • Wonderful. Thank you. Thank you for singing this song. It's wonderful!!!!!

  • OH K i SURE DONT KNOW THEMETERS i JUST KNOW i WENT OUT ND GOT MY NATIONAL BAPTIST HYMNAL BOOK i LOVE EM

  • i like the slow version like james morton sing but this is wonderful

  • james morton sing is it, in what is called short meter, but below Macon, GA or in south Ga we call this long meter

  • Can u help me understand what that meter means. I kinda understand 3/4 to

4/4 beats in a meter. Which one is he singing to. I not sure. thanks

  • @schs19947

That meter doesn't mean anything. No meter means anything. It's just a meter. What does green mean?

OBVIOUSLY, he is not singing in ANY meter.

The song is written in 4/4, but knowing that will gain you nothing.

I cannot imagine where you hear a 3/4 waltz in this rendition.

  • @Rajamuttu and others: In this strain of the lining hymn tradition, long meter can refer to a tune giving a full measure per syllable in 4/4 time or sung rubato; short meter, to tunes giving syllables two beats or (rarely) any tune in a triplet meter ("short" referring to the brisker pace); and common meter, to tunes with one syllable per beat in common time (4/4), like this song. These terms properly refer to the syllable count per line (Google "long meter short meter"), but are now disused.

  • @Banyboy43 yes what does short meter mean....4 / 4 was mentioned by Rajamuttu and said it doesn't mean anything...can u help explain what u mean

  • how can i download this song

  • Yes sur this is ole skool gospel indeed. Sho' nuff.

  • Man this song tears me up especially when he sings bread of heaven feed me til I want no more! His voice just grabs me.
