Although there is SO much great music in this world...it all sounds like a car commercial after an hour with Koz. A true artist who would push these songs out even if he knew no one ever hear them.
Tell me about it, i've just lost my grandad and this was the first thing i listened to when after i heard, it seemed so appropriate. Mark's music is very theraputic when you are down.
I agree wholeheartedly. People say things like "How can you listen to that stuff, it's so depressing". They just don't get it. I like happy music sometimes, but mostly it's the melancholic stuff that does it for me. I don't subscribe to the theory that listening to melancholy music is self indulgent and perpetuates the melancholy.
i cant describe the emotion that found this band makes me feel.has been a while since a song touch me so deep that gave me a new window to watch the world.this band makes that and im so thankfull.gave me back emotions that were so deep inside that i thought they were finally lost.thanks Mark
I´m 9 yrs younger, but absolutely same here. these feelings become more powerful where You are listening in a place or surrounding what is very close to You, knows You since childhood. I´m doing that now. Let the mid-age bliss come...
I'm glad to catch all of you guys here, sometimes it feels like I'm the only boy on this rock that hails this man up just as high as people like nick drake. thank you for sharing this lovely recording. I remember there was a very old RHP recording of Strawberry Hill live, and it got deleted. does anyone know where to find what ever's left of it?
zadamian, you are so right, mark kozelek is by far the most underrated sing/song writers in america. he's incredible. his voice is so etheric the live album, 'little drummer boy' is the soundtrack to heaven.
Kevin,do you remember Archdale,in High point? I took you to the fire station, and you said that stars stay where they are..I know i ´m telling secrets, but I cannot find you and listening to RHP reminds me of the heart we shared,Love,M
I feel like these two songs are so sending I can hardly bear the pull, does anyone feel this way as you listen?..Like remembering something or missing something,or just knowing something..
He has really done alot for me with his music..His voice, his soul that he was willing to share with the world. He said "it´s all he´s known how to do"..I understand and I just want to say thank you...
sorry have not posted- battling an addiction to meth which i have overcome- still struggling to cope with leaving very close friends. i am feeling healthy but somber. I will post more from this performance and circulate it to fans sometime soon. I will also include other films of artists that make a difference in my life. Its truth, emotion, love and understanding that makes a difference. Mark represents experiences of lifes truth. peace.
I will post more from the performance by the end of the weekend. I will also post footage of other artists I appreciate that I have been fortunate to have film. Crazy how underated Mark Kozelek is.
possibly the most beautiful song mark koz has ever written. his quintessential, representative expression of nostalgia, loss and old love. buy his new live album for this alone =)
word. did mark officially name the song Moorestown. At the time of the peformances was within the year it was undecided and i noticed some people assumed the title would be Moorestown. Just curious?
I hearby declare Kozelek to be the best singer/songwriter I've ever heard

Love this song, think the man's a rare gem, a true legend. Side note though, does anyone agree that he looks like Michael Portillo in this video?

I listen to his "Little Drummer Boy Live" album more than any other. (Hum's "Downward is Heavenward" is close though).

Anyone know the chords for this? I'd love to be able to play it. Best song this year by a long shot. Even The Onion agrees.
