"Lady Bianca" Odin was a member of Frank's band in the fall of '76. Until the Philly '76 recording was released she was not officially heard by anyone except for those lucky few that went to the concerts. The few Zappa-philes that have heard of her before have pointed out that Frank's music is full of double entendre's that a female point of view is perfectly suited for. I have read that the spectacular "The Torture Never Stops" seems to take on a different S & M dimension with her singing.
Can't believe i've never heard this before. It's incredible. I'd no idea he'd ever used a female lead vocalist. Shows what an ignoramus I am! Best version ever of this tune for me. Sort of reminds me of the Mandré one, a bit.
actually, yes and no. im not sure the exact details, like whether it was marriage or if she just wanted to change her name, but she went by both. at one point or another, anyway.
can you post "what kind of girl do you think we are?" ? puhleeeeeze!! haha.
i hear the duet between bianca and frank is utterly perverted! must hear.
also, rabe56, you saw this show??
i think i will buy this cd, the first concert i ever attended was in the spectrum in philly. COSMIK!!
i know i'm beating a ghost horse but, i wish the zft would just get those roxy live tapes remastered and then release all this other stuff... what do you guys think??
I had no idea who Bianca was. I remember liking the fuzzy guitar solo on Dirty Love. After that I don't remember too much. Flo and Eddie were supposed to be part of the Philly show. At the beginning of the concert, Zappa said that they had to cancel because a band member "jumped out of a window". Notice the album has songs like Daddy, Daddy, Daddy and Would You Go All the Way, which Zappa had done with them previously.
Versus give me you're all American christian love. Hole-some.
