Enjoyed the review Simon. Be interested to see what you think of Caledonian's Flying Dutchman, a wheat beer brewed with corriander, orange peel and liqorice (I know it doesn't sound great but IT REALLY IS!) brewed originally by a Dutch man in Scotland. It' I loved it on cask and I've seen it in Sainsburys in the past in a bottle. I'm yet to give any Nogne beers a try, but will certainly look out for them
@jaikoria I am just getting used to this style but the more I review them the more the Wit / Coriander beer are growing on me. I have heard of Flying Dutchman but not reviewed it, will seek it out as it sounds very interesting, cheers
Great review! You should seek out more beers from Nøgne Ø. They are all high class! Especially their heavier beers as the mentioned Imp.Stout, the Dark Horizon, #100, #500, Imp.Brown Ale and the IPA.
@Kjempetorsken I am just uploading the Imperial Stout now so keep an eye out for that one. I am glad you liked the review, will try and get hold of the rest of their range to review, cheers
I fancy giving these Nogne beers a try given that they invaded in typical viking style about 3 months ago but I just find that they are so expensive that I would rather try other beers. I am not a huge wheat beer fan but appreciate the difference, nice review.
@bluelebowski Oh they have invaded have they right where's my sword :) I am just getting into this style now, its nice but if expensive I wont pay the extra, cheers Barry
I need to try more Wit beers. I tend to stay with the Hoegaarden and I need to venture more. I'll give this one a go. I have the Nøgne IPA coming sometime today so I am looking forward to that. Sounds like a great brewery from my favourite country. Cheers!
@realaleguide My parents are Irish, Mum from Cork and Dad from Waterford. About ten years ago I did a ancestory search to find out about the original natives of these areas during the viking crusades as I have always been interested in them, and it turned out my Dad had viking heritage as their ancestors were a mix of Gaelic and Danish. Hence why I have the red beard and dark hair. This could all be speculation but I have always felt an affinity to Scotland, Ireland and Norway.
@HopZine Yes nice beers the Wit style, I was quite surprised to be honest I am not too sure on beers with Coriander but this was brewed nicely. Yes had a Christening to go to on sunday didnt want the tash in there. And yes who needs a Colonic when you can blow yourself apart with Sediment ;) Cheers Rob
@M4rkh0lm I reviewed the Imperial Stout straight after this and will upload it tomorrow, I dont want to spoil it for you, but its well worth a watch, loved this beer, cheers
Why did you let all the good beer drip on the floor? haha its cool. Great review!! Cheers Simon!!

@NYRfan4ever Hahaha yeah I was thinking the same, but I wanted to show you guys how the beer reacted when I opened it, very lively, cheers

I wish we could get all these beers in America. Or Tennessee anyways. Our alcohol laws ar draconian to say the least.

@TassadarArchon Oh thats a real shame, so can you not get foreign craft beer at all then? Cheers

I joke with my friends that yeasty beer is better for you than yogurt. The people who get it know what I'm talking about.

Its not even the end of November and the tashola has gone.
I quite like Wit beers, the Ommegang Witte being my favourite so far. I find them rather refreshing in the summer.

I'm norwegian and there's plenty of Nøgne Ø beers to buy here. Try their imperial stout, its very strong, but very good.

@M4rkh0lm Have you tried their IPA?

@mrgrimviking
Not their IPA, but their Pale Ale. It was very good aswell. Gonna try the IPA sometime though.
